ASA STRUCTURE AND OPERATION 6.1 It is required to COMPLY WITH POLARITY when connected ASA to the circuit ± 12 V. Signal generator control wire shall have a cross section of wire from 0.75 mm 2 to 2.5 mm Control panel The following is displayed by a digital display on control panel: - ph voltage in the presence of voltage on the main line; - generator current frequency in c of power supply from generator; - programmed values in programming mode; Values listed below are displayed sequentially when pressing the "MENU" button in "AUTO" or "ON" modes (test mode). - ph A voltage of main electric line; - ph B voltage of main electric line; - ph C voltage of main electric line; - ph B voltage of generator; - ph B generator current frequency Meaning of light signal indication on the control panel: - light indicator "Generator" flashing with yellow light if ph B generator voltage is within the limits set by the user. When you turn on the power relay the indicator lights with yellow color; - light LED indicator "Line" blinks with green when the voltage of three (A-B-C) phs is within the limits established by the user. When you turn on the power relay the indicator lights with green color Emergency light-signal indication (red color) shows the faults of generator and ASA and provides an emergency stop of the engine. In c of emergency the corresponding indicator lights and activates the emergency switch. Pressing any button turns off the emergency switch. Emergency indicator continues signaling and blocks ASA operation even if the source of the accident is eliminated. To cancel the alarm indication, first, it is required to select "OFF" mode and then restore the operation mode. Indications of emergency light signaling indication on control panel: 1. HIGH TEMPERATURE (generator engine overheating) turns on if generator signal comes to the relevant input (No. 3 at signal terminal). 2. LOW OIL PRESSURE (low oil pressure/level) - turns on when receiving a signal from the generator to the relevant input (No. 4 on the signal terminal). This accident will not be monitored for 8 seconds after starting the generator engine. If "LOW OIL PRESSURE" signal comes when trying to start the engine the emergency LED will flash and ASA will expect disappearance of the signal. 3. VOLTAGE ERROR (noncompliance of frequency/voltage) - turns on if the generator frequency goes outside the limits set by the user for the time more than that preset by the timer (set by the user) or if the gnerator voltage is out of the specified limits (set by the user). The generator frequency and voltage shall be controlled for 4 seconds after a switching of the generator power relay on.
6 4. LAUNCH ERROR (launch failure) turns on if the generator engine did not start up after a given number of attempts (set by the user). This type of accident is canceled after switching of main network or pressing "OFF" button. 6.3 ASA has operating modes selected by pressing button on the control panel: 1. AUTO mode is designed for ASA offline operation. In this mode, the unit monitors the main supply line (presence of power voltage and ph voltage within a given range) in c of non-compliance with a given voltage range, the ASA will disconnect the user from the main power line and will activate the generator. When the engine is running, the relay will be immediately disconnected. After the generator ph B voltage will be reled in the nominal mode, it will be activated upon expiration of time period set by the program for generator contactor (set by the user). At the time when the voltage of all phs of main network will be reled at the nominal value the generator engine will continue running for a preset time of waiting for the main electric network (set by the user). After expiration of the delay time the generator power relay is switched off and the main power supply contactor is switched on. If the specified "Cooling" delay is set the generator will run during this time. After the expiration of the delay time, the ASA will disconnect the fuel solenoid and generator engine will stop. The generator will be ready for the next run. The following is controlled by ASA in c of standby power supply: a) parameters of power supply line: current frequency and voltage; b) engine parameters (engine temperature and oil pressure). 2. ON mode (manual mode (test)) - used to test generator in the presence of main electric line or to maintain generator in a standby mode. Generator action in this mode is similar to that in "AUTO" mode but power relay of main electric line will be switched on provided voltage in main power supply line. If there is no voltage in main power supply line the power relay will be switched off and generator power relay will be switched on, in c of nominal voltage of main line the ASA will connect the power supply (loading) to it but generator will continue running; to stop click the button "OFF". 3. OFF mode (SWITCHED OFF) - in this mode, the power relay of main power supply line will be activated if the electric mains ph voltage is within the limits set by the user. The generator engine in this mode will be stopped. 4. Indicators serviceability test is used to check the performance of the entire control panel. This mode is selected when you press "OFF" and "ON" together and cancelled when you rele the button. 5. Values setting mode (hereinafter - programming) - used to program timer and set parameters required for the operation of ASA automation. To enter the programming mode, first press "OFF", then press "MENU" and hold two buttons pressed for 4 seconds, the digital display will indicate "Pr" value (entry to programming mode). Each "MENU" pressing indicates the following parameter for programming; if button is reled the current value is displayed. For example, if you press "MENU" the display will indicate "P01"; when you rele "MENU", P01 will be displayed (table 6.1) which can be incred or decred using "ON" (-) and "AUTO" (+).If you press "MENU" again, the digital display will show "P02"; if button is reled P02 will be displayed (Table. 6.1). This can be continued until "P22". After P22, you will return to P01. Set parameters are stored in memory which does not affect power failure. To exit the programming mode press "OFF". 6.4 Programming List of programs is provided in Table 6.1
