1 0459EN October 03 Safety pressure switch with manual reset Installation The lockout pressure switch must be installed by qualified personnel. The pressure switch K374Y00 can be assembled either vertically or horizontally by screwing it onto a pipe or a /4 Gc male threaded coupling after preparing the latter with a plug + paste mastic, teflon tape, or anaerobic seal; when properly applied, these materials ensure the seal on the coupling between the /4 Gj female connection of the pressure switch and the /4 Gc male part. K374Y00 Description Safety pressure switch with manual reset, for stopping the heat flow from the heat generator when the predefined maximum system pressure threshold (lockout pressure) is reached. The device is and complies with PED directive 97/3/EC. Allowed installation Setting The lockout pressure value is factory-set at 3 bar. This value can be modified with the aid of a tool, intervening on the regulation nut on the upper part of the casing; read the value on the graduated scale on the side. Triggering The device is triggered when the pressure level reaches the set lockout value; the opening of the contacts causes the heat generator to stop. Reset The system can only be reactivated by pressing the reset button on the lower part of the casing. This must be done when the pressure falls 0,4 bar lower than the set value. Main characteristics /4 F connection Two normally closed contacts (wire section 0,5 4 mm²) Reset button (differential 0,4 bar, tolerance ±0, bar) Graduated scale, visible from the outside Nominal current 6 A (resistive load) A (inductive load) Nominal voltage 50 V Operating temperature range C Protection degree IP44 Not allowed installation The connection pipe between the pressure switch and the system must have a minimum internal diameter of 8 mm if the pipe is less than one metre long, 5 mm if the pipe is more than one metre long, and 0 mm if it feeds other devices apart from the pressure switch (regardless of its length). The pressure switch must be fixed in place using an open-end spanner no.9 (recommended tightening moment: 35 Nm). If the theoretical short-circuit current is greater than the maximum nominal capacity of the electric contacts, it is compulsory to use a current protection device upstream from the pressure switch, with an intervention value equal to - or less than - 8 A. Electric connection The pressure switch K374Y00 has two NC electric contacts isolated from each other. When the system is subjected to a normal pressure level, the contacts remain closed. When the maximum set lockout pressure value is reached, both contacts are opened. The pressure switch can be mounted either in vertical or in horizontal position, and with the cable glands turned to the floor, by screwing it to on a pipe or threaded fitting ¼ Gc male, that shall have been opportunely prepared with tow + putty in paste or Teflon tape, or anaerobic sealant (such materials, opportunely applied ensure the tightness of the coupling of the ¼ Gj female connection of the pressure switch with the male part ¼ Gc. K374Y00 Description The minimum pressure switch allows the control of the minimum pressure of a hot water system, according to 97/3/CE (PED) Directive and the provisions of the Italian (I.S.P.E.S.L.) Raccolta R Allowed installation Operation The pressure switch has two electrical contacts, normally open. With pressurized system, the contacts both close. Both contacts will be opened when the set minimum pressure of block will be reached. Restoration In order to reactivate the system, press the reset pushbutton, positioned on the higher part of the pressure switch when the pressure is risen 0.5 bar over the block value. The fastening of the pressure switch shall be made with a fixed key no.9 (recommended torque setting: 35 Nm). Where the theoretic short circuit voltage is higher than the maximum nominal capacity of the electrical contacts, upstream of the pressure switch the use of a protection with intervention values lower than or equal to 8A is compulsory. Electrical connection The pressure switch K374Y00 has two electrical contacts, insulated one from the other, normally open. When the system is pressurized, both contacts close. A) Fully loosen the differential nut () B) Adjust the minimum gap nut () to establish the contact closure value (pump start); turn clockwise to increase the start pressure, or anticlockwise to reduce it C) Tighten the differential nut () until you obtain the required stoppage pressure K374Y003 K374Y004 Description Pressure switch for use with cold water in autoclave systems (e.g. fire-fighting systems). The switch automatically regulates the starting and stopping of the circulator, on the basis of the pressure values set. The electric contacts are of the normally closed type.
