MN Telephone (800) Facsimile (612) INSTALLING NON-CARBONATED DRINK KIT ON THE VISTA POST-MIX CARBONATED DISPENSER The Non-carbonated Drink Kit (P/N 1139), when installed on the Vista Post-Mix Carbonated Dispenser, enables non-carbonated drinks to be dispensed from one or two dispensing valves. Retain these Instructions as part of your Installation Manual. Table 1. Shut off plain water and CO 2 supplies to the Unit. 2. Disconnect syrup supply from Unit No. 4 syrup system (if converting No. 4 dispensing valve) or No. 4 and No. 5 syrup systems (if converting No. 4 and No. 5 dispensing valves). 3. 3 4. Unplug Unit power cord from electrical outlet. 5. Disconnect No. 4 syrup source tube (if converting No. 4 dispensing valve) or No.4 and No.5 (if converting No. 4 and No. 5 dispensing valves) syrup source tubes from Unit syrup inlet tubes. 6. Disconnect plain water source line from double liquid check valve assembly on end of Unit plain water inlet line. KIT INSTALLATION 1. Remove one screw securing hood to Unit, then lift hood straight up to remove. 2. Remove six screws securing drop-in refrigeration assembly to the lower housing. 3. Lift the refrigeration assembly up out of the lower housing and very carefully set it in an upright position. 4. Remove the short piece of tubing connected between the insulated stainless-steel tube A and the water pump water inlet plastic elbow B (see illustration). Discard short piece of tubing. 5. Remove the single liquid check valve assembly, with black plastic adaptor fitting in it s inlet, from the other single liquid check valve connected to the Unit plain water inlet line. (The removed single liquid check valve will be installed elsewhere during the kit installation). 6. Install ADAPTOR FITTING (item 3) in inlet end of remaining single liquid check valve assembly connected to Unit plain water inlet line. IMPORTANT: To prevent sweating, all new installed plain water inlet lines (see illustration) must be insulated using INSULATION (item 8) and INSULATING TAPE (item 9). The 24-inch tube must be insulated down to where it passes down through hole to underside of the refrigeration platform. DO NOT INSULATE THE SINGLE LIQUID CHECK VALVE ASSEMBLY BECAUSE IT MUST BE INSPECTED AND CLEANED ONCE A YEAR. Note: Note water flow indicator arrow on side of the single liquid check valve assembly. Water must flow through the check valve in direction of the arrow. 7. Referring to illustration, install plain water lines and single liquid check valve assembly using tubing, fittings, clamps, and insulation provided as LOOSE-SHIPPED PARTS. The 24-inch water tube must pass through hole sealed with permagum (same hole ice bank control capillary tube passes through) to underside of the refrigeration platform and be routed to vicinity of the dispensing valves. 8. After completing installation of the kit above the refrigeration platform, tie the 8-1/2 insulated plain water tube to the insulated stainless-steel plain water tube. MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO KINKS IN THE WATER TUBE. 9. Very carefully, lay the drop-in refrigeration assembly on it s side.. Cut the carbonated water line (s) connected between the carbonated water manifold and the dispensing valve (s). 11. Plug the carbonated water manifold (see illustration) outlet (s) using PLUG (S) item 5. Secure connection (s) with TUBING CLAMP (S) item. 12. For a single dispensing valve conversion. Use BARBED NIPPLE (item 6) to connect 24-inch plain water tube to the dispensing valve water inlet tube (see illustration). Secure connections with TUBING CLAMPS (item ). For a two dispensing valve conversion, Use TEE FITTING (item 7) to connect 24-inch plain water tube to the two dispensing valves water inlet tubes (see illustration). Secure connections with TUBING CLAMPS (item )

4 IMPORTANT: Note the Unit syrup inlet tubes that are coiled up and cable tied. When Unit is in operation, the coiled syrup inlet tubes are immersed in the cold ice water bath which cools the syrup passing through the tubes. Syrup that is to be provided to the dispensing valve (s) to dispense non-carbonated (still) drink (s) must not be pre-cooled. If performing a single dispensing valve conversion, No. 4 Unit syrup inlet line must be removed from the coiled syrup inlet tubes. If performing a two dispensing valve conversion, both No. 4 and No. 5 Unit syrup inlet lines must be removed from the coiled syrup inlet tubes. 13. For a single dispensing valve conversion. A. Cut swivel nut connector off end of No.4 Unit syrup inlet line. B. Cut one, or two if necessary, cable tie (s) securing the coiled syrup inlet tubes. C. Remove No. 4 Unit syrup inlet line from the coiled syrup inlet tubes. D. Cut excess length of tubing off end of No. 4 Unit syrup inlet line. E. Install new SWIVEL NUT (item 2) and NIPPLE (item 11 on Unit syrup inlet line. Secure connections with TUBING CLAMPS (item 12). F. Re-secure the coiled syrup inlet tubes with CABLE TIES (item 13) For a two dispensing valve conversion G. Cut swivel nut connector off end of No.4 and No. 5 Unit syrup inlet lines. H. Cut one, or two if necessary, wire tie (s) securing the coiled syrup inlet tubes. I. Remove No. 4 and No. 5 Unit syrup inlet lines from the coiled syrup inlet tubes. J. Cut excess length of tubing off end of No. 4 and No. 5 Unit syrup inlet lines. K. Install new SWIVEL NUTS (item 2) and NIPPLES (item 11) on Unit syrup inlet lines. Secure connections with TUBING CLAMPS (item 12). L. Re-secure the coiled syrup inlet tubes with CABLE TIES (item 13). NEW UNIT INSTALLATION 1. Install drop-in refrigeration assembly and secure with six screws. 2. Continue with the new Unit installation as instructed in manual provided with your Unit. 3. After installation has been completed and Unit is in operation, check for leaks and repair if detected. UNIT ALREADY IN SERVICE 1. Install drop-in refrigeration assembly and secure with six screws. 2. Connect plain water source line to Unit plain water inlet line. 3. Turn on plain water and CO 2 sources to the Unit. 4. Make sure Unit water bath contains enough water. REFER TO MANUAL PROVIDED WITH YOUR UNIT FOR INSTRUCTIONS TO REPLENISH THE WATER BATH. Note: Unit syrup systems should be sanitized before Unit is put into operation. 5. Connect syrup supply (s) into syrup system (s)

5 6. Plug Unit power cord into electrical outlet. 7. Dispense from all dispensing valves to bleed air from carbonated water, plain water, and syrup systems. 8. Check for leaks and repair if detected. 9. Install hood on Unit and secure with screw. SINGLE LIQUID CHECK VALVE ASSEMBLIES YEARLY MAINTENANCE WARNING: The single liquid check valves must be inspected and cleaned at least once a year under normal circumstances, and after any disruptions (plumbing work, earthquake. etc.) to the water supply system that might cause turbulent (erratic) flow of water through the system. Refer to the manual provided with your Unit for instructions to inspect and clean the check valves
