6 Level Technologies: Simple Guidelines Applications for level measurement are as diverse as any other process parameter, if not more so. This diversity has resulted in the emergence of many different technologies, each offering specific advantages such as non-contacting installation, no moving parts, or accuracy and resolution. + GF + SIGNET s level offering was carefully developed to meet the majority of the most demanding applications. Ultrasonic Point Level Sensors are level switches with no moving parts, used individually or in pairs for multi-point level control. Magnetostrictive (Float) Level Sensors operate on the simple and reliable principle of buoyancy and are unrivaled in accuracy and resolution. Pressure Sensors contain no moving parts and are widely used for level measurement because of their inherent reliability. Ultrasonic Continuous Level Sensors mount above the fluid surface and have no moving parts. This attractive tech-nology is growing in popularity and use, and is ideal for many harsh environments.
