1 Hold / Abort Switches Features The Hold and Abort switch modules complement the Ex-3000 Series Extinguishing panels. The modules comply with the requirements of BS The switches are easy to wire and multiple units can be daisy-chained together on an input circuit. A range of finishes is available White, Stainless Steel and Brass Trims. Alternatively, the unit can be supplied in an IP65 rated enclosure. The standard units can be surface mounted or semi-flush mounted onto standard 3½ electrical boxes. The IP65 unit is surface mounted. 4 1 Installation The unit is supplied pre-assembled mounted onto its back box. 1.1 Standard Unit The assembly comprises of: Plastic Cover Back Box 87 x 87 x 29 Cover Metal Trim Cover Back Box 87 x 87 x 44 Metal Trim Plate Mounting Plate The switch plate assembly snaps into position in either the plastic cover or the mounting plate. To remove the metal cover trim plate, place a small screwdriver into the recess underneath the trim plate at the bottom and carefully prise off. The metal trim snaps into the mounting plate. Plastic Cover Assembly Metal Trim Cover Assembly Back Box Back Box Cover Mounting Plate Surface Mount The back box fixing points are shown on the diagram opposite. Sufficient breakout sections are provided for the wiring. 63mm 42mm Flush Mount The plastic cover assembly or the mounting plate / metal trim assembly can be mounted onto a standard 3½ electrical box minimum depth 35mm. 4

5 1.2 IP65 Unit The assembly comprises of a two-part IP65 enclosure with integral switch block and actuator. A resistor end-ofline card is used to provide the end-of-line and activation resistors. The cover incorporates the switch actuator. Captive fixing screws are included. Cover 72 x 72 x 22 The back box incorporates the switch block pre-wired to the end-of-line module. Knockouts are provided top and bottom. Two fixing holes are provided in the back of the box. Back Box 72 x 72 x 29 2 Wiring 2.1 Standard Unit The 2-way terminal block provides a simple way of correctly terminating the switch input circuits of the Ex-3000 Series Extinguishing Control Panel / system. The switch plate assembly module consists of a plastic plate with pre-printed text, switch assembly, printed circuit card and connector. The printed circuit board snaps onto the switch assembly it should not be prised off. The normal 6800Ω end-of-line resistor supplied with the panel is not used as this is automatically included on the printed circuit board. TO PANEL If multiple switch units are to be connected to the circuit, the units can be daisy-chained on the circuit. A break-off tab (to remove the end-of-line resistor) must be removed on all modules except the last module on the circuit see below. 6 2.2 IP65 Unit The switch block is pre-wired to the EOL Module terminal block. Wiring to the panel is identical to the standard unit but uses a pluggable terminal block.
