1 PRODUCT 21FL/26FL/38FL/42FL PD-CLFL-03A FILTRATION EQUIPMENT SERIES 21FL/26FL/38FL/42FL FILTER LOCK HOUSINGS Filter Lock The BLC Filter Lock Housing sets the industry standard for ASHRAE filtration Anywhere that minimal air bypass or leakage is especially sensitive is an application where BLC s Filter Lock should be applied Developed exclusively for medium to high efficiency filtration in general ventilation requirements, our custom designed unit depths provide a vehicle for which standard 65% - 95% ASHRAE filters may be applied or utilized This allows our customers enormous flexibility, versatility and reliability when choosing a housing for a particular specification Each Filter Lock Housing is equipped standard with a 2" or 4" prefilter track Downstream from the prefilter is BLC s special Locking Mechanism This mechanism incorporates a series of high pressure springs and clamps to lock or secure a 1" header type or a 4" panel type final filter to an EPDM gasketed tracking member, hence establishing a facial seal eliminating bypass This design enables the BLC Filter Lock to be utilized in any number of special applications Completely factory assembled, the Filter Lock is engineered to provide a rugged one piece housing that is ready for immediate installation when received at the job site These housings are offered standard in sizes ranging from 1 foot wide x 2 feet high through 10 feet wide x 7 feet high Additionally, larger special sizes are also available All models and depths of the BLC Filter Lock Housing require only 2 sizes of filters, 12 x 24 and 24 x 24 (nominal) in 2, 4 and 1 inch depths, thereby reducing stocking requirements and eliminating confusion when change-out of the filters are required CONSTRUCTION BLC s aluminized steel provides superior corrosion and heat resistance, resulting in longer product life and appearance Aluminized steel also offers an improved overall product appearance when compared to galvanized material In addition, aluminized steel conforms to ASTM Specification A463 and is used for such applications as space heaters, mufflers and incinerators which are subjected to extremely corrosive conditions Each Filter Lock Housing is supplied with 2 lift-off access doors hinged at the rear of the housing for easy access to filters The door is fully gasketed at its perimeter and at filter tracks by use of an EPDM gasket Quick acting, over-center, positive lock latches are used to secure doors without bypass This standard design will withstand positive or negative pressure up to 3" WG CONSTRUCTION FEATURES 16 GAUGE ALUMINIZED STEEL CONSTRUCTION FACTORY ASSEMBLED LIFT-OFF ACCESS DOORS GASKETED ACCESS DOORS FILTER LOCK MECHANISM 1 1/2" MOUNTING FLANGES Corporate Headquarters PO Box 14187, Louisville, Kentucky Phone: (502) Fax: (502) askus@blcindcom BLC-WEST Phone: (480) Fax: (480) wwwblcindcom We reserve the right to make changes in product design and product specifications without prior notice or obligation Breathe Easy, We Have The Line On Air Filtration

4 MECHANICAL SPECIFICATIONS - CLEAN-LINE FILTER LOCK HOUSINGS Filter housings shall be CLEAN-LINE 21, 26, 38 or 42 Filter Lock Housings as manufactured by BLC Industries, Inc Units shall be completely factory assembled with 1 1/2" mounting flanges provided for field installation Standard design for 3" WG positive or negative pressure Units shall include the following equipment features and options: STANDARD UNIT CONSTRUCTION Material of Construction Filter Lock Housing(s) shall be manufactured of 16 gauge aluminized steel All fasteners are to be corrosion resistant finish Track System Filter Lock Housing(s) filter tracks shall provide for either a 2" or a 4" prefilter and a 1" header type final filter Each filter track is sealed at its end by use of EPDM gasket Filter Locking Mechanism Filter Lock Housing(s) shall be provided with a final filter locking mechanism The locking mechanism is operated by over-center type clamps which force the filter against a sealing channel gasketed with EPDM gasket, sealing the filter at its top/bottom on the downstream side of the filter header Spring loading of the locking mechanism clamps maintain a positive pressure of 600 ft lbs per filter Standard location of locking mechanism is at right hand door Housing(s) 09 or 10 wide require access on both ends of the unit for dual set of locks Access Doors Filter Lock Housing(s) shall be provided with two hinged access doors Doors to be sealed with over-center draw latches Door perimeters are sealed with EPDM gasket UNIT OPTIONS Insulation Filter Lock Housing(s) shall be provided with 1 inch thick insulation Insulation is applied to the interior of the access doors and to the exterior of the top and bottom panels Insulation may be 15 pound or 30 pound density Double Wall Insulation Filter Lock Housing(s) shall be provided with 1 inch thick double wall insulation Insulation shall be enclosed in 24 gauge aluminized steel panels located on the interior of the access doors and the exterior of the top and bottom panels Insulation may be 15 or 30 pound density Weatherproofing Filter Lock Housing(s) shall be provided with a 16 gauge aluminized steel pitched rain roof All seams shall be sealed using a high viscosity permanent sealer (non-silicon) High Pressure Filter Lock Housing(s) shall be provided to meet operating static pressure of 10 IN WG (Positive/Negative) Access doors are provided with full length piano hinges welded in place (Doors not lift off) Consult factory for all other high pressure applications Mounting Flange Adapters Filter Lock Housing(s) shall be provided with 16 gauge aluminized steel flat adapter flange to match customer equipment/ specifications Flanges may be single-air entering, single-air leaving or double-air entering and air leaving per customer requirements Support Legs Filter Lock Housing(s) shall be provided with 12 gauge aluminized steel support legs Maximum height of 6 inches from bottom of flange to floorline Quantity of support legs are as follows: 01 ft - 04 ft wide units/2 support legs, 05 ft - 07 ft wide units/3 support legs, 08 ft - 10 ft wide units/4 support legs For other applications, consult factory Hanger Brackets Filter Lock Housing(s) shall be provided with 12 gauge aluminized steel hanger brackets welded to the top panel Location may be one (1) pair of brackets - air entering/top corners, one (1) pair of brackets - air leaving/top corners or (2) pair of brackets on all four corners Brackets are supplied with a 5/8" diameter hole for hanger rod Hanger brackets are for support of the filter housing only Any other equipment or duct connections must be supported independently Static Taps Filter Lock Housing(s) shall be supplied with static pressure fittings for 1/4" metal tube connection Tap Location No 1: Before filter Tap Location No 2: Between prefilter and final filter Tap Location No 3: After final filter Alternate Material of Construction Filter Lock Housings shall be manufactured of 304 or 316 stainless steel Standard aluminized units shall be supplied with an air dried epoxy coating Epoxy coating can be interior-only, exterior-only or interior and exterior
