24 Spartanics Model TRI-AX 334 Power Box Setup 3 Power Box Setup The power box has an input voltage ranging from 200 to 480 VAC Hz. that is converted to 120 VAC single phase to power the feed. Warning Do not change the wiring configuration on the pre-wired side of the transformer. Transformer is Prewired at the factory for the voltage requested by the customer. The electrician installing the device must verify that the actual measured input supply voltage matches the voltage set at the factory. Refer to Wiring Chart on Schematic, Power Box # CE for proper voltage jumper configurations CE/E 3-1 JAN 2000
25 Spartanics Model TRI-AX 334 Setup 4 Setup 4.1 Setup, Cart & Stand Setup of Cart Place mast into cart s mast opening and secure with washer and screw. Position one yoke collar one inch from table top and secure with 10-24x5/8 screw. Place feed mount on mast above first collar and secure second collar four inches from the top of the mast. 28 Spartanics Model TRI-AX 334 Setup Place the Input module on the right side of the guide tube and the Output module on the left and secure with the lock knobs located under each module. Secure front and rear sensors to the bayonet mounts CE/E 4-4 JAN 2000
29 Spartanics Model TRI-AX 334 Setup 4.2 Cable Connections R/Y Axis Motor Cable Connection Connect the cable to the bottom of the output module Die Switch Connection Secure the die switch to the left or right die switch post studs on the mounting slide with washer and nut, then connect the die switch connector to the back of the input module CE/E 4-5 JAN 2000
30 Spartanics Model TRI-AX 334 Setup Electronics Package Connection Remove the four washers and screws from the section of the cart where the electronics package will be placed. Insert package into the cart with handles facing out and secure with washers and screws. Connect the touch screen to the electronics package with the touch screen assembly cable. Connect the foot switch to the power box. Connect the remote box to the touch screen and tighten screws. Place edge guide on the die mounting assembly slide and secure with mounting screws. Connect the power box cable to the power connector on the electronics package CE/E 4-6 JAN 2000
31 Spartanics Model TRI-AX 334 Functional Checks 5 Functional Checks 5.1 Power On and Functional Check Press green ON button on the touch screen, wait for screen to cycle through its startup. Touch the screen to bring up the main menu screen. Press SETUP which will initialize the feed drive wheels, control LED and mini-sensor light before bringing up the Setup screen. Press RESET which will stop the drive wheels and return to the main menu. Press SETUP then EJECT to jog the feed and cause the input module LED and feed fault indicator on the remote box to flash. Press RUN then hold down the reset button on the die mounting assembly. When the Y Stop adjustment knob is turned, the feed should move freely. Release the reset button and push the arm of the die switch down to release. Touch each menu button on the display to verify screen changes for each menu. A beep should sound from each button on the remote box when pressed. Press the red OFF button to power down. 5.2 Press Interface Check Power on feed and press, set the press in FEED mode and verify that the feed is in CONTINUOUS mode if available. Press RUN to initialize the RUN mode, feed in a strip of material, press foot switch to calibrate press when prompted. The display will show Press is off or Die Switch Not Operated CE/E 5-1 JAN 2000

42 Spartanics Model TRI-AX 334 The Remote Box 7 The Remote Box Feed Fault Indicator: 1 Illuminates to indicate a Feed Fault condition. When pressed, Feed Fault Clear is performed Sense Fault Indicator: 2 Indicates a Sense Fault condition when lit. When pressed while in Setup Mode only, the feed will back up the material and re-sense the register pattern Batch Limit Indicator: 3 Indicates a Batch Limit condition. When pressed the feed will clear the Batch Count and the Batch Limit condition Spartanics Indicator: 4 This button must be pressed down to enable the Register Adjust arrow buttons Eject Indicator: 5 Used to clear all material from the feed Advance Indicator: 6 Used to manually step the material, part by part, through the die. 43 Spartanics Model TRI-AX 334 The Remote Box Register Adjust Arrows: The six arrows are used to make fine adjustments to the Register Position. The part will move in the indicated direction each time a directional is pressed. Register Adjust Arrows The six Register Adjust arrows are used to make fine adjustments to the Register Position. The part will move in. (0.025 mm) in the indicated direction each time a directional is pressed. English mode is in. ( mm) per touch. In Metric mode the motion is 0.01 mm ( in.) per touch. 52 Spartanics Model TRI-AX 334 Artwork - Pre-Press 9 Artwork - Pre-Press Angle and Line pattern is recommended for material although feed software accommodates different mark types. The recommended line width is 0.03 in. (0.75 mm), minimum is 0.02 in. (0.5 mm). The recommended gap in 0.03 in. (0.75 mm). The recommended pattern height is 0.25 in. (6.4 mm). The pattern should be printed in the most critical registration color with the highest contrast possible. The window area must be clear of any markings except the registration pattern in (13 mm) in (0.75 mm) in (6.5 mm) in (0.75 mm) CE/E 9-1 JAN 2000
