1 III. R PSL-0 STEP-LIFT MAINTENANCE egular maintenance of the Ricon PSL-0 Wheelchair and Standee Step-lift is essential for optimum performance and will reduce the need for repairs. This chapter contains a maintenance schedule, a hydraulic schematic, and electrical diagrams. WARNING THIS RICON PRODUCT IS HIGHLY SPECIALIZED. AUTHORIZED RICON SERVICE TECHNICIANS MUST PERFORM MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS USING RICON REPLACEMENT PARTS. MODIFYING OR FAILING TO PROPERLY MAINTAIN THIS PRODUCT MAY RESULT IN UNSAFE OPERATING CONDITIONS AND MAY VOID THE WARRANTY. MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE Climate (weather), lift usage (rate of lift cycling), and lift age (vehicle mileage) combine to determine the maintenance interval for a specific lift. Ricon recommends carrying out the inspection tasks listed on the Maintenance Checklist presented on page three. During the Ricon warranty period, an authorized Ricon service technician must perform the inspection tasks listed on the Maintenance Checklist. Ricon recommends that an authorized Ricon service technician continue maintenance when the warranty expires. Perform maintenance at the interval prescribed on the appropriate Maintenance Interval Chart below. TO DETERMINE MAINTENANCE INTERVAL: The five Maintenance Interval Charts below represent vehicle types in terms of their maintenance needs. Refer to the chart that contains the lift usage (low, normal, or high) and climate type (mild, average, or severe) that applies to your vehicle. Then refer to the Maintenance Checklist on page three and do the maintenance tasks at the interval that was listed above your vehicle type (refer to arrow). Use the mileage or time interval that occurs first. Red, part #C, or equivalent; use to clean saddle assembly Zep PLS, part #C, or equivalent; use to lubricate Tasks OK Initial appropriate boxes Requires repair? Repair at next service Repair before returning to service Platform is clean. Non-skid strips are attached and in good condition. Safety issue Press PUSH TO TEST LAMPS button on control panel. Verify that DEPLOYED, FLOOR LEVEL, NOT STOWED and BARRIER ENABLED indicator lights are illuminated. Deploy platform and lower to approximately 0 inches above ground level. Verify that rollstop deploys and stows. Verify that platform lowers to ground. Check manual pump operation, and hydraulic fluid level. Use Texaco No. aircraft hydraulic fluid (or equivalent U.S. mil spec H0G oil). Deploy rollstop. Safety issue Raise platform; verify that rollstop is closed (up). Check all decals. Decals should be readable and securely attached. Stow platform. Platform must stow smoothly and completely. Check hydraulic system for leaks (lines, cylinder, and connections). Inspect and clean saddle assembly. Inspect saddle rollers for freedom of movement. Inspect primary drive chain and saddle drive chain. Adjust and clean, if needed. Printed name: Signature: DSL0.A -
