SERVICE BULLETIN Extended Frame Roller Kit Serial Numbers Guide Roller Serial Numbers SB MTL SST SUBJECT: Extended Frame Roller Kit and Guide Roller rev. 4 February 2, 2009 Kolberg-Pioneer is recommending that a roller kit and guide roller be added to the main conveyor frame assembly on the SuperStacker. The roller kit and the extended frame guide roller provides additional guidance for the inner conveyor frame as it is extended and retracted. Extended Frame Roller Kit Use the following procedure to add the frame roller kit. Note that the weight of the extended frame roller assembly is 160 lbs. 1. Extend the SuperStacker and lower to lowest position. 2. Lockout/tagout power. 3. Weld disconnect the 90 Profibus connector from the I/O rack. Weld disconnect 90 Profibus Connection Shown Unplugged 4. Remove side guard panels. 5. Remove existing angle braces, reference drawings for the 36 x 150 and 36 x 130 SuperStacker, for the 36 x 136 SuperStacker and x 150 and the 30 x 130 SuperStacker. 6. Grind paint from surfaces where reinforcement will contact the undercarriage frame tubes. Weld disconnect 90 Profibus connector 7. Weld new angle braces, part number , in place as shown on drawing for the 36 x 150 and the 36 x 130 SuperStacker, for the 36 x 136 SuperStacker and x 150 and the 30 x 130 SuperStacker. IMPORTANT 90 Profibus Connection Shown Plugged In Welding must be completed by a certified welder. page 1 of 11

2 Angle braces Extended frame roller assembly Note: The orientation of the guide roller will be different for 36 x 136 SuperStackers. Please refer to the picture on page 4 for orientation. The procedure is essentially the same for installation. 2. For 36 x 136 Superstackers only, cut off the skid plate where the new guide roller will be positioned. Extended Frame Roller Assembly - After Installation 8. Weld new roller assemblies part number in place as shown on drawing for the 36 x 150 and the 36 x 130 SuperStacker, x 136 SuperStacker and x 150 and the 30 x 130 SuperStacker. Skid plate Note: Hold 3.31 dimension on e-chain side of frame. 9. When welding has been completed, prime and paint as needed. 10. Run the extended section in and out to make sure there is no interference and roller alignment is correct. Extended Frame Guide Roller Use the following procedure to install the extended frame guide roller assembly (45 lbs.) and guide plate bracket (8 lbs). 1. Retract the SuperStacker extended frame section. Make sure that when done retracting there is room between the lattices for measuring. Skid Plate - 36 x 136 SuperStackers 3. Position and clamp the guide roller assembly on the main frame. Place the guide roller assembly vertically 11-11/16 on 130 and 150 SuperStackers and 12.5 on 36 x 136 SuperStackers from bottom of the angle on the main frame. Refer to the picture on page four for more information on measurement and placement of the guide roller assembly. page 2 of 11

3 P/N /16 Head End Roller Bracket - Roller Removed for Clarity (130 and 150 models only) In addition to this, the guide roller assembly should be initially placed horizontally with 5/ 8 gap from the outside of the head end vertical member. Repeat procedure for opposite side. 4. Once the guide roller assembly is clamped in position, they must be centered on the main frame and be held to a 61 measurement center to center, pin to pin. For 30 frames the measurement center to center, pin to pin will be 55. The 61 (or 55 ) measurement will overrule the horizontal gap measurement of 5/8 from the outside of the head end vertical member. 5. After the 61 measurement is obtained, make sure that the gap measurement (initially 5/8 ) is the same on both sides. Use Port-A-Power to center stinger (may be required). 6. Weld roller in place. Reference drawing and picture below for welding instructions. 7. Weld guide plate bracket to lattice frame. Reference drawing and picture below for weld instructions. Refer to the drawing at the top of the next column for more information. page 3 of 11

4 Guide roller assembly 5/16 5/ TYP The picture below details the finished guide roller and guide plate assembly. Guide plate bracket 3/16 3 On 36 x 136 SuperStackers, the position of the guide roller is different due to the design of the mainframe. Please refer to the picture below for guide roller placement. Essentially, the roller is positioned on the head end support member with the roller facing the tail end. The guide plate bracket is positioned and welded about 1-1/4 down from the guide roller assembly.
