3 MP 3 of 7 This report is written to set forth a C-Check inspection procedure for the Main Deck Cargo Door and floor reinforcements installed per Aeronautical MECHANIC INSPECTOR Engineers, Inc. STC. This procedure is to be used in conjunction with the AEI /-400 Freighter Maintenance Manual. The Daily (Report R-784) and A-Check (Report R-785) Inspections Procedures are to be performed simultaneously with this procedure. Aircraft S/N Aircraft Time Work Order Date DEFINITIONS Detailed Inspection: An intensive examination of a specific item, installation or assembly to detect damage, failure or irregularity. Available lighting is normally supplemented with a direct source of good lighting at an intensity deemed appropriate. Inspection aids such as mirrors, magnifying lenses, etc. may be necessary. Surface cleaning and elaborate access procedures may be required. General Visual Inspection: A visual examination of an interior or exterior area, installation, or assembly to detect obvious damage, failure or irregularity. This level of inspection is made from within touching distance unless otherwise specified. A mirror may be necessary to enhance visual access to all exposed surfaces in the inspection area. This level of inspection is made under normally available lighting conditions such as daylight, hangar lighting, flashlight or drop light and may require removal or opening of access panels or doors. Stands, ladders or platforms may be required to gain proximity to the area being checked. Functional Check: A quantitative check to determine if one or more functions of an item performs within specified limits. TASKS NOTE: Remove cargo liner and lightening hole covers as required to gain access to components being inspected. 1. Perform Cargo Door Daily Inspection (R-784). 2. Perform Cargo Door A-Check Inspection (R-785).

Remove the lower cargo compartment liner on the left side, below the Main Deck Cargo Door and where required to gain access to the floor beams and vertical posts in the fwd and aft lower cargo compartments. 4. Perform a Detailed Inspection of the area under the Main Deck Cargo Door for corrosion, cracks, loose and missing fasteners, and security. Check: a. Lower Beam b. Circumferentials c. Splices d. Splice Components e. Latch Fittings f. Floor Beam Attachment Splice Plates 5. Perform a Detailed Inspection of the Hydraulic and Static port lines and tubing under the floor for security. 6. Perform a Detailed Inspection of the Forward and Aft Jambs of the Main Deck Cargo Door opening for corrosion, cracks, loose and missing fasteners, and security. Check: a. Side Beams b. Intercostals c. Stringer Splices d. Stringers e. Attach Fittings to Upper & Lower Beams 7. Perform a Detailed Inspection of the Main Deck Cargo Door Doublers for corrosion, cracks, loose and missing fasteners, and security. Check: a. Upper Skins and Doublers b. Lower Skins and Doublers c. Forward Skins and Doublers d. Aft Skin ands Doublers NOTE: Take special note when inspecting doubler areas at and around Lower and Upper Beams and Forward and Aft Side Beams for loose or missing fasteners and damage. 5 MP 5 of 7 8. Perform a Detailed Inspection of the area above the Main Deck Cargo MECHANIC INSPECTOR Door for corrosion, cracks, loose and missing fasteners, and security. Check: a. Upper Beam b. Circumferentials c. Splices d. Splice Components e. Intercostals f. Cargo Door Actuator Brackets 9. Perform a Detailed Inspection of the Main Deck Cargo Door Hinge for wear, corrosion, cracks, and security, also check for loose or missing fasteners. No cracks are allowed in any portion of the hinge. 10. Perform a Detailed Inspection of the Main Deck Cargo Door for corrosion, cracks, loose and missing fasteners, and security. Check: a. Upper Beam b. Lower Beam c. Side Beams d. Main Beams e. Intercostals f. Latch Assembly Angles 11. Perform a Detailed Inspection of the Main Deck Cargo Door Actuators for leaks, alignment, condition and security. 12. Perform a Detailed Inspection of the Main Deck Cargo Door Lift Actuators upper support fittings, lift linkages, rod ends, pivot blocks, and attach fittings for alignment, and missing, loose, bent, or broken bolts or pins, and for condition, security, and lubrication. 13. Perform a Detailed Inspection of the Main Deck Cargo Door Lift Actuator hydraulic hoses and tubing for leaks, deterioration, and security. 14. Perform a Detailed Inspection of the Main Cargo Door Torque Tube actuator, attach fittings, latch linkages, and rod ends for condition, security, and lubrication. 15. Perform a Detailed Inspection of the Main Deck Cargo Door Seal and Seal Depressors for condition and security. 16. Perform a Detailed Inspection of the Latch Plates for condition and security.
6 MP 6 of 7 MECHANIC INSPECTOR 17. Perform a Detailed Inspection of the Latch Lock Pin (Gang Bar) Actuator for leaks, condition and security. 18. Perform a Detailed Inspection of the Latch Lock Pins for condition and security. 19. Perform a Detailed Inspection of the Latches for condition and security and proper operation. 20. Perform a Detailed Inspection of all of the Main Deck Cargo Door hydraulic components, tubing and fittings for leaks, security and proper operation. a. Hydraulic Tank b. Motor/Pump c. Selector Valve d. Hand Pump e. Relief Valves f. Check Valves g. Holding Valves h. Actuators i. Hydraulic hoses crossing from the Main Deck Cargo Door to the Upper Jamb. 21. Change the Cargo Door Hydraulic System filters located on the Hydraulic Panel. 22. Perform a Detailed Inspection of the Main Deck Cargo Door warning switches and wiring for condition and security. 23. Perform a Functional Check the Main Deck Cargo Door warning system for proper operation. 24. Perform a General Visual Inspection of the Lower Jamb Protector and hinge for condition and security. (If Installed) 25. Perform a Detailed Inspection of the Vent Door assemblies for corrosion, cracks, indication of deterioration, loose or missing fasteners, and security. Also, perform a functional check the Vent Doors for proper operation and proper sealing when closed. 26. Perform a Detailed Inspection of the Vent Door cables for security and perform a Functional Check of the vent door operating system in conjunction with the Collective Locking Gang Bar. PREPARED BY:

Remove Pressure Relief Valve located on Hydraulic Panel and Manifolds Assembly located on the Main Cargo Door and bench check for the proper psi setting as per OHM R-4374 and OHM R Perform a Detailed Inspection of Section 43 floor beam reinforcements for corrosion, crack, loose or missing fasteners and security. Check: a. Vertical Posts b. Post attach fittings c. Floor beam horizontal reinforcement angles d. Floor beam vertical stiffeners e. Floor beam doublers f. Floor beam reinforcement straps g. Vertical post to frame attach 30. Perform a Detailed Inspection of Section 46 floor beam reinforcements for corrosion, crack, loose or missing fasteners and security. Check: a. Vertical Posts b. Post attach fittings c. Floor beam horizontal reinforcement angles d. Floor beam vertical stiffeners e. Added lower beam f. Floor beam doublers g. Floor beam reinforcement intercostals h. Vertical post to frame attach 31. Inspect the 9G barrier per Ventura Aerospace Report R2210 Section Re-install the lower cargo compartment liners and all of the removed liner and covers in the Main Deck Cargo Door area. (If liner is to be replaced use only FAR (a) and (d) approved liner and tape.) NOTE: This inspection report can be adapted and sequenced to the inspection forms of the owner/operator of the aircraft, however the procedures and items called out by this report cannot be altered. Correction of findings: Refer to the AEI /-400 Freighter Maintenance Manual for corrective action. Contact AEI for corrective action and guidance outside the scope of the MM.
