The WSC series has been designed and developed for producing wheels for passenger cars and trucks. Metal spinning and flow forming are used to shape appropriate rim contours of wheels made of aluminium, steel, and other highstrength alloys. The Wheel Spinning Center operates swiftly and saves resources. In addition, the machines feature unprecedented production flexibility, low set-up times, and very low processing times. The Wheel Spinning Center can be tailored to fit hot, cold, or combined forming. Reaching a production capacity of more than wheels per year, the WSC 700 machine shows its full potential. It combines lightweight automotive applications with high productivity. The vertical design of the machine features optimal load distribution among the three rollers (arranged at 120 ). High forming velocity provides the basis for high-speed cycles. For high-dynamic production processes, the WSC series is equipped with stateof-the-art CNC-controls. The high-performance Wheel Spinning Center is configured according to your requirement and will be integrated into your production system. The vertical design of the machine reduces overall dimensions and provides swift and safe robotic loading and unloading of wheels. The 700 series features a vertical design with a versatile triple access. One of the three inputs is intended for smooth tool exchange or an additional machining unit. Due to the unique tool change unit (Fig. 3) designed especially for this series, one operator alone is able to change tools simply and swiftly. Flow Forming - Cast Aluminium Wheels Simple-shaped aluminium preforms are formed into thin-wall, near-to-final contoured rims at approx. 400 C. Flow forming improves the mechanical properties of the feedstock material considerably. Even though lighter, the wheels produced are of higher strength. Flow Forming - Forged Aluminium Wheels In this flow-forming process, forged aluminium preforms (cold or at forging temperature) are shaped into near-to-final rim contours.
