(Safe Connection). In Europe, the most important producers of pipe fixing systems have joined together to set up industry standard product quality guidelines. This group, known as the Gütegemeinschaft Rohrbefestigung e.v., has become acknowledged in 2003 by the R, the German Institute for Quality ssurance and Certification. Benefits The technical properties of the products, like the maximum safe working load, are established and published by means of an industry-standard measuring method. Within the measuring method the maximum allowed load is calculated, taking into consideration a maximum allowable deflection. With the R-mark the quality of the pipe fixing products of the participating manufacturers, like clamps and fixing rails, becomes clear and easily comparable. R measuring methods take into account: failure load (also called breaking load) maximum deflection (f max = max. 1.5 mm or f max = 2% of the clamp diameter) noise insulation properties The maximum safe working loads which are mentioned in the tables are based on: 1) a Walraven developed measuring method 2) the measuring method as prescribed by R-GZ 655, which is set up by the Gütegemeinschaft Rohrbefestigung e.v.. The safe loads of products provided with the R-mark are checked by an independent testing institute. The R-mark is given exclusively to products which satisfy the highest quality standards and is an evidence of quality. This gives the users of pipe fixing systems certainty and trust! t this moment 2 measuring methods have been published: pipe clamps (R-GZ 655/B) fixing rail (R-GZ 655/C) Measuring methods for cantilever arms and rail accessories are being developed. 2
