They are designed to absorb and dissipate the thermal loads sociated with the most severe clutch and brake applicatis. The WCB fricti couple w developed specifically for ctinuous slip service and h a dynamic coefficient of fricti that is greater than its static coefficient of fricti. Also available, special high coefficient linings, which provide 5% higher torque than standard fricti linings and provide a : dynamic to static torque ratio. Features: Patented pist design Single or dual pist provides wider range of applied tensi with greater ctrol. rop in powerhead package Standard single pist elements can be retrofitted with a dual pist powerhead to provide increed ctrol. Element cstructi and operati is illustrated in the figure page. Pressurizing the cylinder causes the pist to clamp the fricti disc between the water jackets. Heat generated at the fricti interface is quickly transferred to the circulating coolant. Split wear spacers Element sizes are indicated by the number of fricti discs and the disc diameter in inches. A specially formulated fricti material, interfacing with a copper alloy surface, eliminates the stick-slip characteristic sociated with ordinary frictial devices. The split wear spacers allow for wear adjustment without dissembly of the brake to minimize downtime and maintenance costs.
