1 COORDINATED GRANT COMPETITION: PROJECT SPONSOR FOLLOW-UP QUESTIONS AGENCY: Senior Services of Snohomish County PROJECT: TAP Capital Vehicle Purchase Question #1: The same package of funding letters has been provided for the numerous projects submitted into the competition. It is difficult to align the funding amounts and sources. We d ask that you please provide the breakout of the partnering agency s matching funds by total amount and by project. Answer #1: Match: $40,000 Senior Services of Snohomish County $34,045 WSDOT (Requested) Total Match: $74,045 Question #2: Your application indicates that your program is scalable, but does not provide any priority of which of the variety of vehicle types SSSC would most need to fund if a partial funding decision were needed. Please clarify what vehicles could be deferred, if a partial funding decision were made. Answer #2: TAP is requesting replacement transportation totaling 32 seats as the program prepares to retire buses with a total of 44 seats. By replacing some high mileage buses with new Lower Floor Minivans and two buses, TAP can more efficiently and cost-effectively transport individuals and small groups with special needs. This request already positions TAP to have less seats in its total fleet, so any further decrease negatively impacts rides available for this vulnerable population. Less buses means a van would have to take multiple trips to transport on group outings. Less vans means more trips that TAP would have to send a large bus to make a 1-2 person pick up, which compromises its availability for other group pick-ups. The total request is $296,180 + a requested WSDOT Match of $34,045. The two buses requested will cost $76,693 each; removing one from this would be a partial funding of $253,532, and this likely represents the most TAP could scale down its request and be minimally viable.
