AIR CLEANER Heavy duty dry type air cleaner with rigid frame rail mounting for maximum protection. Restriction indicator to measure filter condition with indicator. 2. AXLES 10,000 pound front axle minimum with maintenance free spring pins. 21,000 pound rear axle minimum with magnetic drain plug. Soft ride front parabolic springs that meet or exceed axle capacities. Front Springs rated at 10,000lb rear suspension to be 21,000lb air ride rear. 31,000lb GVW minimum required. 3. BATTERIES Dual 12 Volt group 31 maintenance free type, 950 CCA minimum each. 4. BRAKES (AIR) Heavy duty 4 wheel air brakes. 15 x 4 front, 16.5 x 7 rear brakes. Antilock brakes are required and must be 4-channel system for maximum safety. Heated Bendix AD-9 air dryer with automatic purge system. 13.2CFM compressor 5. BUMPER ¼ thick heavy duty front bumper, swept back style, matching hood. Block heater safety receptacle to be provided in front bumper. 6. COOLING SYSTEM Coolant level check with -34 degree anti-freeze protection level. Electric on/off or Viscous style fan clutch to increase fuel mileage and reduce noise. Extended life coolant required. 7. ELECTRICAL Chassis wiring all colored and continuously numbered. Dual electric horns. Halogen headlights with daytime running lights. All available chassis circuits protected by automatic reset circuit breakers. 185 amp alternator required as a minimum.

2 8. ENGINE 240 horsepower, turbo charged, air to air cooled diesel engine minimum. Must be 2013 Emission, in line 6 configuration, with engine exhaust brake. 9. ENGINE HEATERS 750 watt minimum block heater, with insulted safety receptacle in front bumper. Intake warmer or engine warm up device in turbo charger required. To include full winterfront. 10. FRAME Heavy duty 50,000 psi frame with 10 x 3 x 5/16 thick steel minimum. RBM of frame must be 625,000 per frame rail minimum to prevent frame damage. Full frame flange required to the radiator with no cutting, torching, or notching, for additional strength. 11. FUEL TANK/FUEL SYSTEM 100 gallon tank mounted between the frame rails for additional side impact protection. Fuel/water separator with heater required. 12. GAUGES Speedometer with odometer. Tachometer, oil pressure, water temperature, fuel, voltmeter, hourmeter, Transmission Temp. Gauges must high mount type and above defroster channels to provide in-view use. 13. HAND THROTTLE Electronic throttle control and cruise control. Switches for throttle to be high mount at steering wheel level so driver can operate without removing eyes from road. 14. HOOD Fiberglass tilt hood, with easy opening hood for 15lbs maximum pull effort. Hood must include rubber lined hod pull for driver s comfort. 15. SHOCK ABSORBERS Front and rear, dual action type.

3 16. TIRES/WHEELS 14 Ply Radial tubeless tires, 11R22.5, with mud and snow tread on rear highway front. Disc wheels, 10 hole hub piloted. Oil lubed front hubs. 17. TRANSMISSION 5 speed automatic 2500PTS series transmission geared so bus will run 70 mph. 18. WARNING SYSTEM Low oil pressure and high water temp warning light and buzzer. 19. WHEELBASE 279 wheelbase minimum with set back axle design. 20. MISCELLANEOUS Tilt telescoping steering column required. Heavy duty power steering gear to have internal pressure relief valves. 2 quart power steering reservoir capacity for safety and increased cooling capacity. 1 gallon minimum washer fluid bottle capacity. Front tow hooks. Exhaust must discharge rear. Storage box to be provided left of driver, also include storage compartment over driver s window with door and lock for securement of driver s articles. WARRANTY-Manufacturers copy must be directly attached. Engine- 5 year 100,000 mile minimum. Transmission-5 year unlimited miles Drivetrain- 5 year unlimited miles to include front and rear axles, spindles, kingpins, kin pin bearings and steering arm minimum. 4 1. AISLE Shall be 12 wide minimum. BODY SPECIFICATIONS 71 passenger Body Passenger capacity 66 passenger with wheel chair lift 2. BATTERY BOX Shall be frame mounted with a slide out tray. 3 BODY BOWS Bow frame assemblies shall consist of 14 gauge hat section. The bow frames are a continuous 1-piece. 4. BUMPER Bumper shall wrap around corners of bus and be attached to the chassis frame. Bumper to be diagonally braced with minimum 4 steel tubing. 5. COLOR Exterior: National School Bus Yellow High Solids Polyurethane Type with white roof. Interior: Light Gray. 6. CONSTRUCTION Bus body must be constructed to meet all State and Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards in effect at time of manufacture. 7. COWL STEPS (2) folding steps and painted handles shall be attached to the front cowl for cleaning the windshield and lamps. (1) each side. 8. DIMENSIONS Exterior width 96 ; interior width 90. Interior DEFROSTERS Defrosters shall be sufficient in capacity to keep windshield clear of fog, snow, and ice. Unit to have full length windshield defroster channel for supplying hot air to windshield.

5 10. DOORS Service Door: Service door shall be air operated, outward opening under control of driver. All doors shall be equipped with padding at the top edge of each door opening. The pad shall be at least 3 wide and 1 thick and extend the full width of the door opening. Emergency Door: Emergency door shall be located in the center rear of bus. Door shall be outward opening with a minimum of 24 horizontal opening and a minimum of 48 vertical opening. Door equipped with an audible buzzer, which will sound when latch is moved toward open position. Door to have upper and lower glass. Door hinges shall be greasable type. A device shall be used that holds the door open to prevent the emergency door from closing during emergencies and school bus evacuation drills. All emergency exits shall comply with applicable current EMVSS 217. Vandal locks included on rear door, front door and side lift door. 11. ELECTRICAL Wiring is to be enclosed inside removable body molding located above windows. This molding shall be removable without loosening or removing side windows. Wiring to be color and number coded. A complete wiring diagram is to be furnished. All wiring that passes through metal shall be grommeted. Metal clips required to support main body wiring harness. Body and Chassis wiring shall be multiplex. AM/FM Radio CD player PA system. Backing alarm 112 DCB. 12. EXTERIOR PANELING All roof sheets are sealed to prevent leaks. Each bus shall be completely water tested for assurance of no leaks. Exterior panels shall be primed both sides before assembly. Exterior Side: Exterior side panels shall be 20 gauge steel and double riveted to the body bow frames. (2) Emergency roof/vent hatches. 13. FENDERETTES The wheel opening shall have metal fenderettes approximately 1 ½ wide running continuously from bottom of skirt. Front and rear rubber mud flaps. Front and rear tow hooks.

6 14. FIRE EXTINGUISHER Bus to be equipped with (1) dry chemical type fire extinguisher to meet State Standard. 15. FIRST AID KIT & TRIANGLE FLARES Bus to be equipped with a metal type first aid kid and body fluid kit to meet State Standards and a set of triangle flares. 16. FLOOR CONSTRUCTION Cross-members shall also extend the full width of body except at the wheelhouse area. All floor cross-members are to be welded to a 14 gauge steel. Wood floor 5/8 marine plywood. 17. FLOOR COVERING Floor covering to be heavy duty gray. Floor under seats, over wheelhouses, and in driver s compartment to be covered with rubber or vinyl.125 thick. Aisle and entrance steps to be covered with slip resistant.1875 thick ribbed rubber. All floor seams must be sealed with a water-proof sealer and covered with galvanized steel strips. Floor covering along sidewalls shall be covered with metal molding. 18. FUEL TANK OPENING Exterior: Spring loaded, hinged door with latch. Access plate in floor for servicing. 19. HEATER & DEFROSTERS A heater shall be installed front of the driver. The heater to be 2-speed, fresh air type. A hot water shut-off valve shall be required easily accessible to the seated driver. 50,000 BTU step well heater/defroster. All heaters to be easily serviceable with cleanable air filters. Midship 84,000 BTU Rear heater 84,000 BTU All heater hoses to be covered with metal. A defroster channel shall fill the full length of the windshield for maximum defrosting. Booster pump. (2) 6 defrost fan, one center of windshield, one left above driver. (2) ball valves under hood. 45,000 BTU Webasto Scholastic Heater installed left side of body.

7 20. HOOD Shall be fiberglass, forward tilting with quick release pins for easy removal of the entire hood. There shall be a handhold molded into the hood for ease of tilting. 21. INSTRUMENTS GAUGES & SWITCHES The body switches shall be located left and in view of the seated driver. The chassis instruments and gauges to be located within easy view of the seated driver. 22. INSULATION Ceiling, sides, and rear panels to be insulated with minimum 1 ½ thick blanket fiberglass insulation to properly deaden sounds, reduce vibrations and provide thermal barriers. Acoustical ceiling full length of bus. Thermal insulation shall be fire resistant of type approved by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. 23. INTERIOR Interior of bus shall be free of all unnecessary projections likely to cause injury. All interior panels to have lapped edges. Interior side panels to be mar-proof aluminized steel from window bottom to seat mounting rail. The interior body height from the floor to the center of the roof shall be minimum of LAMPS & SIGNALS All lamps shall conform to all FMVSS and state laws in effect at time of manufacture. Lights to include: Strobelight Cluster: (3) amber front w/protective shields, (3) red rear LED Marker: (2) front corners, (2) rear corners and (2) side roof LED Stop/Tail: (1) right rear, (1) left rear 7 minimum. LED (1) right rear, (1) left rear 4 minimum. LED Back-Up: (2) clear white LED Step Well: Dome Dome: Warning: Directional: Directional: (1) operating with dome light switch. Driver s dome light. 8 25. MIRRORS Interior mirror to be 8 x 30 safety glass with protected edges. Exterior mirrors shall be 7 x 10, (1) left hand and (1) right hand open view heated and remote control, Cross view (2) quadr aspherical mirrors (1) left and (1) right fender mounted. All mirrors shall be heated and comply with FMVSS MOUNTING Bus body shall be mounted to chassis frame in such a manner as to prevent shifting. Bolts are required on each mounting bracket. Rubber mounting pads reinforced with fiber shall be used to cushion body on chassis at every floor crossing. 27. RUB RAILS Minimum of (4) rub rails. To be black. (1) 4 ¼ located below windows. (1) 4 ¼ located at seat cushion level. (1) 4 ¼ located at floor level. (1) 4 ¼ located at bottom of skirt All rub rails to be applied to exterior of body. Pressed in or snap-on rails do not satisfy this requirement. 28. SEATS Passenger Seats: All seats to be designed and installed to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. First two rows right and left side to have Integrated Child Seats. Seats to be gray upholstery, last (4) seats left side and last (2) seats right side to be track mounted 39 seats. All seat frames to be seat belt ready frames, seating capacity with all seats installed 66 Passenger. Driver s Seat: 6 way Adjustable high back seat with tilt. With Air pedestal with arm rest Driver s Seat Belt: Shall be a Type II, 3 point belt with an adjustable D loop for driver comfort. The belt shall be of ELR design with a push button release. 29. STEPS AND HANDLES Shall be installed on each side of cowl for cleaning the windshield. 30. STORAGE COMPARTMENT An overhead storage compartment shall be located above the windshield. Compartment door shall be hinged at top. 31. STEP WELL

9 The step well shall include (3) steps. The entrance and egress area including the top landing area adjacent to the driver s seat shall be unobstructed by the engine cover or other components. Gray Korseal pebble steps to match floor. 32. SUN VISOR Visor to be 6 x 30 dark Plexiglas and fully adjustable. 33. UNDERCOATING Entire underbody to be completely undercoated with Tectyl 121 wax base undercoating material or equal. 34. VENTILATION Body shall be equipped with a static type, non-adjustable exhaust ventilator located in low pressure area of front roof. 35. WINDOWS 2-piece side windows to be of safety tempered glass mounted in aluminum frames. The top portion of the side windows shall be capable of being lowered to a position that provides an opening at least 12 x 22. Entrance door and rear glass to be flat safety type. Driver s window to be double siding aluminum sash with tempered safety glass. All interior and exterior side window frames to be anodized flat black. (2) Push out emergency windows per side. All glass 28% tinted. 36. WINDSHIELD 1-piece curved safety glass slanted to reduce glare and provide maximum vision with 5 shaded band at top of windshield. 37. WINDSHIELD WIPERS Bus to be equipped with (2) heavy duty bottom mounted wipers. Wipers to be 2 speed. Wiper motors shall be accessible for service through a hinged compartment door. Intermitted. 38. 10 39.WHEEL CHAIR LIFT Wheel chair lift and lift door mounted right rear of bus, RICON Model S of track of three rail flanged button track left rear, with floor pockets for (2) wheel chairs, 5 of track of three rail flanged button track right side of bus just forward of wheel chair lift with floor pockets for (1) wheel chair. Four 39 Track mounted seats installed left rear of bus and Two 39 track mounted seats in right rear wheel chair location. With all seats installed, bus seating capacity shall be 66 passenger. Three sets of Q-Straint quick release tie downs. Three storage pouches for storage of tie downs when not in use.
