2 SAG Sp. z o.o. (Co. LtD) SAG Sp. z o.o. (Co. LtD) is a modern company running its activities comprising manufacturing, trading and services focused at the mining and other industrial branches. History of Company The history of the company dates back to 1991 as the SAG Steel-rubber Ropes Manufacturing Co. LtD. Originally 51% of shares was owned by the Austrian Company TRADEPOL, the remaining 49% of shares was taken over by Wieczorek Coal Mine. The legal successor of the mine became Katowicki Holding Węglowy S.A., (Katowice Coal Holding, Joint Stock Company) while in 1997 the shares in possession of the Austrian Company were taken over by Marchart & Lackner GmbH. In 2008 the shares of the Austrian company were purchased by Fabryka Taśm Transporterowych Wolbrom S.A. (Conveyer Belt Manufacturing Company in Wolbrom) thus becoming a new owner. On 8 Feb the name of the company was chnaged from SAG Wytwórnia Lin Stalowo Gumowych Sp. z o.o. to SAG Sp. z o.o. (Co. LtD). The Company is a member of Regionalna Izba Gospodarcza in Katowice (Katowice Regional Chamber of Commerce) and Izba Przemysłowo Handlowa w Krakowie (Krakow Industry and Trade Chamber). In order to assure relevant manufacturing and management standards SAG Company runs its operations on the basis of the Integrated Management System EN ISO 9001:2008; PN-N 18001:2004 and EN ISO

3 SAG type eco-rollers for belt conveyers The main recipients of rollers are hard coal mines, strip mines, transport and power generating enterprises. Smooth roller SAG-type Eco-rollers Rollers are the most numerous construction elements of belt conveyers and their efficiency influences power consumption of the drive, correct running of the belt and its durability. The rollers generate up to 30% of the belt conveyer rolling resistance. The eco-rollers made by the SAG Company feature average rolling resistance not exceeding 1.3 N, which allows to reduce substantially exploitation costs. It has been supported by laboratory and practical testing. 3

4 Laboratory testing testing was conducted at the Instytut Górnictwa Politechniki Wrocławskiej, (Wroclaw University of Technology) where the laboratory assessment of quality of the SAG type eco-rollers SAG-type roller- cast iron hub was executed in consideration to: dynamic resistance of rollers running, temperature growth In bearing units, radial run out, dynamic unbalancing. Practical testing The testing was conducted at hard coal mines. Objectives of the practical testing: measurements of belt conveyer power demand in the function of medium rolling resistance of a single roller, measurements and calculation of precise power consumption necessary to overcome resistance generated by installed rollers only depending on their average rolling resistance. Obtained results of operation of the new type eco-rollers confirm high quality of manufacturing, increased effectiveness and durability. Types of Eco-rollers The SAG Company offers the following types of Eco-rollers: smooth, garland, and directional with the following dimensions: external diameter from 55 to 159 mm, length to 2000 mm. The eco-rollers are provided with labyrinth seals: S type, N type with thrower, F type with lips or with simmering ring sealing customer s demand. 4

5 Sealing types Ordering and roller markings Typical labyrinth sealing used in most of the standard rollers. For bearings: 6204, Material: PCV plastics. So-called French sealing used for special orders of customers applied in rollers abroad. For bearings: Material: so called hard plastic (sleeve), so-called soft (lips), galvanized steel sheet (outside). Application of rollers The rollers are designed for installation in belt conveyers working on the surface and for transport of winning in mine underground in the temperate climate conditions. Delivery of rollers to other climate zones may be realized on the basis of an agreement with the supplier. Technical description: a roller comprises from a shell, axle, hubs (bearing housings), sealing elements. Construction of the rollers is adapted for loads resulting from the bulk density of g/cm² and operation in pollution conditions occurring in coal mining. The rollers comply with the requirements of standards PN-90/M and PN-91/M Ordering An order should indicato: the word roller, marking of the type (acc. to the catalogue sheet), additional markings: kinds of tips, operating conditions, protective coating (e.g. no surface protection, primer coating color, common painting color, powder coating color, galvanizing), other requirements. Marking example roller P N/ /538/ tip type: a 12, s 22 painting: epoxy paint RAL 3000 A double sealing package, so-called with a thrower, complies with the increased dust tightness properties. For bearings: Material: PCV (labyrinth and ring), galvanized steel sheet (cpver). The sealing used in heavy rollers. For bearings: Material: galvanized steel sheet. 5
