2 Ⅱ Before arriving first loading port 1.LASHING MATERIALS and CONSUMABLE SUPPLIES 1. Condition check The lashing materials should be checked and selected usable one and unusable according to the check standard. GO to "CHECK STANDARD of LASHING MATERIAL" 2. Inventory report 1) You are requested to report us on the condition and the number of lashing materials and consumable supplies about one week prior to arrival at first loading port. 2) You are requested to specify lashing materials using "LASHING CATALOGUE" and use the established form for reporting. GO to " LASING CATALOGUE" GO to "REPORT FORM" 3. Distribution in cargo hold Deck crew should distribute the lashing materials to each compartment as calculated from the previous voyage (including more or less) 2.PREPARATION FOR LOADING 1. Prevention soot damage Soot has a possibility to harm the paint surface of vehicles on yard. Therefore, soot blowing should be practiced elaborately before entering every port. and wash down decks before entering port with special care. 2. Foreign object Check and remove foreign objects such as empty bottles that are often placed on the beams in the ceilings of the deck. 3. Ventilation systems Make sure that all hold ventilation systems are in good order.

4. Panel operations 1) Liftable panels should be set accordance with the instruction from NYK. 2) The unused liftable deck support should be folded.

Materials for damage prevention Check the materials for damage prevention ; traffic corns, separation tapes, rubber mat and so on are supplied sufficiently and distributed properly in cargo hold. 6.

Panel operations 1) Liftable panels should be set accordance with the instruction from NYK. 2) The unused liftable deck support should be folded. 3) Stanchions,safety ropes and safety sighs are erected at the gaps between the panels. 5. Materials for damage prevention Check the materials for damage prevention ; traffic corns, separation tapes, rubber mat and so on are supplied sufficiently and distributed properly in cargo hold. 6. Plywood for wharf surface protection. Check whether the quantity of plywood are sufficient for the protection of wharf surface to be used under outer ramps. 7. Oil absorbent Check oil absorbent is prepared near the outer ramps for treatment of oil spill on decks. 9. Pre-cargo-work meeting Pre-cargo-work meeting between officers and crew must be held.

4 OUT OF ORDER OF "DOWEL" The "DOWEL" is not able to be engaged suffiently. (Required dowel holding force :about 30N) RETURN TO MANUAL CHECK STANDARD for LASHING MATELIAL TRANSFORMATION "DOWEL" The one that metallic part is remarkably transformed RUST The knurling is remarkably worn The parts which contact to belt is remarkably rusted.

5 BELT PART CUT ON ITS CENTER The belt is cut at center part more than 1/4 of belt width. 1/4 CUT ON ITS SIDE The belt is cut at side monre than 1/4 of belt width 1/4 LOSS of THICKNESS The thickness of the belt is reduced less than 5/6 of the original 1/6 SCRATCH on THE BELT DUE TO TIRE SLIP The scratch due to tire slip is extended more than 1/2 of the belt width 1/2 CUT NEAR THE SEWING PART The belt is cut around sewing part more than 1/6 of the width 1/6 RETURN to MANUAL
