9 Ciudad Real is the most important site for the running of the University of Castilla-La Mancha. In this city is placed the Provost's Office and the most relevant decisions concerning the administration and management of the UCLM are decided in this venue. Naturally, the vital centre of the UCLM has its own wonders. After all, Ciudad Real is the land of Don Quixote and it is surrounded by astonishing natural landscapes, some of which are included in the National Park list. With regard to education, the Campus of Ciudad Real is, naturally, the most relevant campus within the University of Castilla-La Mancha. With around 8,000 students in accordance with the 2015 statistics, it offers a completerange of Bachelor's Degrees, Master's Degrees and other post-graduate studies for the best undergraduate and graduate education. The Campus of Ciudad Real is divided into two venues: the main venue is, located in the city of Ciudad Real. A second venue is located in Almadén, a small town 100 kilometres away from Ciudad Real. Taking advantage of the mercury mining tradition ofalmadén, theuclm decided to place the Polytechnic School, here where students can study the Bachelor's Degrees in Mining Engineering and Industrial Engineering. In addition, Almadén boasts the world's largest mercury mine, and together with Idrija, it is the only place that holds the Heritage of Mercury awarded by UNESCO back in 2012.
