4 Working towards improving the environment We are increasingly required to consider the costs of our actions from an environmental point of view. With just a small commitment, electric mobility is a genuine opportunity to obtain tremendous benefits for our land and its inhabitants. Ingeteam has always been committed to making its own contribution, through the research, design and production of products that can be adapted to meet the requirements of the constantly changing energy scenario. The Ingerev charging stations are the fruit of a know-how that has matured gradually, from years of work in the energy sector. The different uses of a barrel of crude oil, expressed in percentage terms: 23 % Diesel for cars 22 % Petrol 7 % Kerosene for aviation 5 % LPG for cars and heating 43 % Others 4

5 The Hubbert peak graphically represents the scientific theory that aims to predict the availability of crude oil on the planet over time. The peak has been exceeded, the price of oil is destined to grow, and it is therefore necessary to adopt alternative means of energy production in order to delay the depletion of this resource, as far as possible. The transport sector is primarily responsible for the consumption of fossil fuels. Electric mobility plays a fundamental role in the objective to put a stop to atmospheric emissions. 5

6 An overall view of the demands of the planet A specific environmental commitment The Ingerev brand features a complete range of products to cover vehicle charging demands and to provide a service to monitor, control and manage the infrastructure. The complete range of Ingerev products comprises a flexible, modular hardware platform that is perfectly adapted for integration into the smart grid. Imagine a clean, noise-free environment The step is imminent: electric mobility, seen as an alternative until yesterday, has today become a demand! The process for the creation of infrastructures and the standardisation of charging is now underway. From tomorrow onwards, it will be possible either to charge a vehicle before starting out or to recharge it at destination (public car parks, places of work, supermarkets, restaurants ), thereby avoiding having to waste time stopping during the journey. 6

8 Convenience, safety and reliability International regulations have defined the standard for the minimum safety levels for the charging system. Based on the strictest safety standards required, Ingeteam is participating in working groups and technical commissions to analyse what amendments need to be made to current legislation in order to adapt it to the ongoing changes in technical demands. Compliance with standards 8

9 The charging modes according to the international standards: Mode 1 AC charging Mode 2 AC charging Mode 3 AC charging Mode 4 DC charging The vehicle is connected to the private electricity distribution network by means of a simple power cord with either domestic or industrial connections (single phase or three phase). The maximum current is 16A, and safety is guaranteed with a residual current device and earthing conductors. The connection to the vehicle is made with a dedicated cable fitted with an in-cable protection device which controls the charging process. The safety of the perimeter network is guaranteed with a residual current device and grounding. The charging station is connected to the vehicle through dedicated connections which incorporate, in addition to the power cables, conductors to control the vehicle charging. In this mode, the charging station incorporates the output current safety and control functions. The vehicle is charged with a DC current provided by the charging station. In this mode, the output current control and safety functions are integrated during the charging process. 10 A routine task Vehicle recharging will become a routine task for all users, once or several times a day, the driver will connect the vehicle to the power outlet. The modes described in the international standards are implicitly linked to the maximum currents, and determine the charging times. 10

12 A complete range of charging solutions The Ingerev charging stations are designed for use in a wide variety of contexts, ranging from home systems right up to the most complex installations in public places. During the design phase, consideration has been given to the demands of wall-mounted and ground-mounted applications alike. An aesthetically pleasing design Special attention has been paid to the aesthetic appeal of the charge points, given the fact that they are to be part of the urban scenery and will also be installed in our homes. Ingeteam offers the possibility of customising the charging station, in keeping with the corporate image of the service providers. 12

14 A flexible control and management platform All the charging stations in the Ingerev range feature a microprocessor-based control board. Energy is measured through a dedicated meter connected to the control board. Identification and local enabling by the charge station Local identification by the charge station and remote identification by a server Identification and remote enabling through a management protocol. The user identification is made at the charge station using RFID* technology. The user interface comprises a wide graphic screen, which displays all the information required for use. The LEDs are an integral part of the user interface, providing clear information as to the charge point operating status. *RFID, an acronym for Radio Frequency IDentification, this is a technology used to store and read information from a chip, with no direct contact necessary. The chip has no battery, with power and communication received by electromagnetic induction. This system is so compact that it can be integrated into signs, labels, ID codes, etc... 15 Charge stations are responsible for transferring energy from the electricity grid to the vehicle. The information on this process is available to the owner and to the installation manager. Each Ingerev charge station features a dedicated RS485 communication system, which covers the principal control and supervision requirements. Communication accessories: Ethernet card for the network connection GSM/GPRS/UMTS card in order to connect the installation to the Internet and for the information service via SMS. 15

16 Communication protocols Ingeteam has chosen to provide the maximum flexibility for the implementation of the electric vehicle charging infrastructures. The communication protocols for supervision and control are implemented within the Ingerev product line. 18 The indoor charging point The IngeREV Garage charge point range has been specifi cally designed for indoor use in garages, parking lots, housing blocks, etc. The charge point design is based on the guidelines set out in the IEC international standard, offering the possibility of charging vehicles in modes 1, 2 and 3 of this standard. IngeREV Garage is supplied with a single W housing, designed to be wall mounted. Depending on the type of supply (single or three phase, 16 or 32 A), a number of variants are available (116, 316, 332). The IngeREV Garage charge points are equipped with a cable retention and locking system (only Mode 3) to prevent removal by unauthorised users. 20 The charging point for use in urban environments The IngeREV City charge point range features an attractive, weatherproof design that blends easily with the street furniture whilst providing superior protection against vandalism. The charge point design is based on the guidelines set out in the IEC international standard, offering the possibility of charging vehicles in modes 1, 2 and 3 of this standard. IngeREV City offers two different variants, depending on the type of installation: - Ground G : For use in public places. - Wall W : For garage or car park walls. The IngeREV City charge points are equipped with a cable retention and locking system to prevent removal by unauthorised users. In the event of a power failure, the IngeREV City charge points feature a minimum autonomy of one hour, guaranteeing cable retention during this time, until new user identification. 22 Rapid charging Ingerev Road is the latest innovation in the Ingeteam product range, designed to meet the demand for rapid charging. Compatible with vehicles designed to the CHAdeMO standard, it provides an easy-to-use, safe and rapid service. This charging station makes it possible to fully charge the vehicle in just 20 minutes, ideal for service stations where there is a need to charge fleets of company vehicles. Ingeteam has designed its charging station based on its own energy converters, incorporating high efficiency IGBTs. The steel housing guarantees the possibility of withstanding adverse environmental conditions. Furthermore, the low noise pollution whilst operating means that it can be installed in enclosed areas such as garages or close to residential areas.
