Even without a depot charge point we utilised the EV80 as a fully functioning local multi drop delivery vehicle albeit with some restrictions and limitations. There is no doubt as technology improves, electric vehicles will become the norm. The EV80 is a good starting point with our commitment to embrace zero emission vehicles.

14 LDV EV80 Case Study 2 Wilson James Fleet Size 200+ Based Heathrow Area HLI Material Manager -Darren Schauerman - Run Heathrow engineering stores landside at the Colnbrook Logistics Centre and main store airside at Terminal 2b. - Ran two diesel Luton vans to deliver spares, however Heathrow airport have target of all airside vehicle to be electric by x EV80 Luton Vans with tail-lift went live July 2018 Delivery of these Luton vans, means all of our vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes at Heathrow are either electric or hybrid, according to John Spottiswood, HLI Director.

Lutons have workable payload even with tail-lift Charging facilities are onsite with 4 x 22kw chargers supplied by Elmtronic plus 2 x 50kw ABB Units. Driver reaction so far has been positive, vehicles were bespoke for their operation so there was driver input which helped, being used on a 7 day cycle. The Lutons are to be kept for between 3 to 5 years.

19 LDV EV80 Hackney Launches Ultra Low Emission Streets They are launching 2 zones in the City Fringe that, during peak hours, will be restricted to walking, cycling and low emissions vehicles only (vehicles that emit less than 75g/km of CO2). Petrol, diesel and older hybrid vehicles will not be permitted on the streets during these hours. These zones, known as ultra low emissions streets, or ULEV streets, will prioritise low pollution transport, reducing the harmful effects of pollution in the City Fringe during commuting hours, making it easier and safer to walk and cycle and improving the character of the area for residents and businesses. To minimise the disruption to residents and businesses, access to the streets will be maintained outside peak hours. From Monday 3 September 2018, ULEV streets will be in operation Monday to Friday, 7-10am and 4-7pm.
