4 Photovoltaic and Net metering Photovoltaic systems were given for free by private companies 9 installations completed The photovoltaic installation with net metering in Larnaca Pilot Project was the FIRST ONE IN CYPRUS (January 2013) Smart and Net metering supported by the, Cyprus Electricity Regulatory Authority, the Cyprus Parliament, the Electricity Authority of Cyprus, the Association of Renewable Energy Sources Enterprises of Cyprus. 17

7 SMART/NET METERING FIRST RESULTS VERY ENCOUREGING The NET consumption of a 5 members family in Paralimni for the period April-May 2013 was 4 kwh. Last year consumption was 840 kwh. The bill amount was only 3,55. Photovoltaic installation of 3 kw The NET consumption of a 6 members family in Larnaca for the period April- May 2013 was 36 kwh. Last year consumption was 1836 kwh. 17 31 Success story Nine smart meters already installed and the first results were analyzed. Net metering installations are the first ones in Cyprus and o lot of the discussion on National level (Parliament, involved governmental authorities etc) for net metering focused on the results of these dwellings. A new national skimon photovoltaics with net metering announced recently based on the first experiences from these Elihmed pilot cases. The new skims announced (for 2013) by the Cyprus Regulatory Authority and included for the first time (a) 2000 installations of photovoltaics 3kW with net metering in LIHwith a grant of 2700 and (b) 3000 installations of photovoltaics 3kW with net metering to other residential dwellings without grant.
