1 Alignment is double tracked for 80 mph commuter trains, 110 mph CHSR speeds between Bridgeport OR and 78 th Street in Vancouver WA. New alignment for freight trains will allow speeds up to 40 mph over the CHSR Multi-Modal Bridge compared to current 15 mph speed. North to Seattle and south to Eugene CHSR speeds will go up to 200 mph. This corridor section will carry commuter trains from Wilsonville to Portland and Portland to Longview/Kelso. The CHSR Multi-Modal Bridge will reduce freight rail traffic congestion in North Portland, Port of Portland and Port of Vancouver. The CHSR Multi-Modal Bridge will also have four lanes for motor vehicles. The CHSR corridor uses approximately 80% of the BNSF right-of-way. There are no grade crossings on the CHSR corridor. There are new or improved overpasses and underpasses that will benefit both CHSR and freight railroads. The electrified CHSR passenger rail corridor will be completely separated from diesel powered freight railroads. HSR RQ to Vancouver WA_04_BP
