10 COMMUNICATIONS & OUTREACH NOACA in the News Shaker s Van Aken District gets additional $1.5 million NOACA grant for urban multimodal path Plain Dealer, June 21 The 10-foot wide path will run roughly a mile on the east side of Warrensville Center from Thornton Park south to Norwood Road, designed to fundamentally change the experience of a car-dominated corridor."

11 COMMUNICATIONS & OUTREACH NOACA in the News NOACA Board approves funding Monies earmarked for Geauga County Amish Safety Strategic Plan Geauga County Maple Leaf, June 22 This initiative has created some of the most transformative projects in our region.

12 COMMUNICATIONS & OUTREACH NOACA in the News Lake County commissioner elected to NARC Board News Herald, July 1 Commissioner Troy will bring his wealth of knowledge to this national position and contribute greatly to NARC s leadership. It will also give Northeast Ohio a larger voice at the national level.

13 COMMUNICATIONS & OUTREACH NOACA in the News NOACA receives more than $300,000 in grants for active transportation like bicycling, walking Plain Dealer, July 24; Morning Journal and News Herald on July 25 The money, granted by ODOT, was split about 50/50 - half for collecting data on how many people are biking and walking and how frequently, and the other half for materials to create temporary pathways (like bicycle lanes) in order to test how they'd work in particular areas.

14 COMMUNICATIONS & OUTREACH NOACA in the News Grants support Berea Community Outreach Plain Dealer, August 25 NOACA will provide Community Outreach with up to $42,178 toward the purchase of a new van. The van will be purchased in 2018.

15 COMMUNICATIONS & OUTREACH NOACA in the News New Irishtown Bend plan blends active and quiet areas to serve city, region Plain Dealer, August 26 Irishtown Bend could become one of the most spectacular urban parks in the industrial Great Lakes. NOACA provided major funding for the conceptual plan.

16 COMMUNICATIONS & OUTREACH NOACA in the News Bay Village traffic study to address school bus safety on Lake Road Plain Dealer, Sept. 6 After parental concerns regarding the safety of children getting on and off school buses at the Lake Road and Bradley Road intersection, Bay Village Mayor Paul Koomar said NOACA has agreed to perform a traffic study at no cost to the city.

19 LEGISLATIVE & FUNDING ISSUES TIGER Grant Awards This week USDOT announced the opportunity for state and local stakeholders to apply for $500 million in discretionary grant funding through the Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) program The deadline to submit an application for the FY 2017 TIGER grant program is Monday, October 16

30 ANNOUNCEMENTS Follow-Up from Prior Board Meeting Cuyahoga County Executive Budish asks: What would the repercussion be if the NOACA Board does not approve Resolution ? Interagency agreement must be signed with ODOT in order to receive CPG funding for NOACA budget.

31 ANNOUNCEMENTS Follow-Up from Prior Board Meeting Geauga County Commissioner Claypool asks: Does the Board need to approve the FPA Boundary changes or can it be delegated to the Planning & Programming Committee? Under the current Clean Water Plan, it must be approved by the Board. An amendment would need to be submitted to the Governor and EPA for approval to change the policy.
