In the event of AC power failure, the will operate 4W, 12W or 20W LED arrays for a minimum of 90 minutes. 2 Cat# DC Inverter GENERAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS LED EMERGENCY INVERTER IMPORTANT SAFE PRACTICES When using electrical equipment, and this lighting device, basic safety precautions should be followed at all times including, but not limited to, the following: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY IMPORTANT: An un-switched AC power source of 100VAC to 277VAC is required. CAUTION: AC power must be off before installation. Make sure all electrical connections conform to the National Electrical Code and all applicable local regulations. Do not let wires touch hot surfaces. Do not mount near gas or electric heaters. Battery is rechargeable NiCd and must be recycled or disposed of properly. This device is designed for use in fixtures listed for dry and damp locations. Do not use this emergency driver with accessory equipment other than recommended by manufacturer; failure to follow this may cause an unsafe condition. Servicing should only be performed by qualified service personnel. Do not use this emergency driver for other than intended use. Equipment should be mounted in locations and at heights where it will not readily be subjected to tampering by unauthorized personnel. IMPORTANT: Indicator (LED light) illuminated indicates battery in charge mode when AC power is applied. It is recommended and required by applicable code to test emergency ballast to ensure proper function of the system; push the test switch for thirty (30) seconds every 30 days to ensure the emergency driver is Functioning as LED light source illuminated. Conduct a ninety minute (90) discharge test one time (1) per year; LED light source should be illuminated for a minimum of ninety minutes (90). ASSEMBLY and FIELD INSTALLATION WIRING: WARNING: AC power must be off before proceeding with assembly or installation of emergency driver. TESTING SYSTEM: The emergency battery requires a charge minimum of one (1) hour before testing the circuit. A full charge requires forty eight (48) hours.

4 Switch Setting Selection Guidelines for Emergency LED Driver This LED Emergency Driver has a field selectable current setting from 100mA to 700mA adjustable in 50mA increments. To determine the correct setting use the charts below. You will need the LED array voltage. Divide the wattage from the battery pack being used by the LED array voltage and chose the next lowest setting below the calculated result. Example: Installation of a 24 volt LED array with 4 Watt AA battery pack: 4W / 24V =.166 Amps or 166mA results in choosing setting 1 for 150mA Setting ma A 600 B 650 C 700 D 700 E 700 F 700 Battery Pack Max Array Wattage W, 9.6V AA900mAH 4W W, 9.6V C2500mAH 12W W, 9.6V D4000mAH 20W Warning: Setting a current that exceeds the Battery Pack maximum Power rating will result in insufficient run time and may damage the emergency driver.

5 LED Operation Single Blink: One of the following conditions can cause the LED to single blink: 1. Test switch pressed before completing one hour charging. 2. Battery voltage less than or equal to 4 volts. 3. Battery voltage less than or equal to 8 volts after charging for 48 hours. 4. Battery not being charged. Double blink: One of the following conditions can cause the LED to double blink: 1. LED array current is too high. 2. LED array current is too low.
