3 Research & Development Based on the wide range of functions carried out by connection systems (seal tightness, alignment, locking systems, flow, etc), our R&D department can design the combination of functions required for your application. They pay particular attention to the interface of Stäubli components with your equipment and the incorporation of technical improvements. This demands accurate precise definition of your technical requirements to ensure the success of your application. The latest high performance technology is used by R&D in this process, including powerful CAD systems, rapid prototyping machines and dedicated test equipment. Qualification tests validate the design of Stäubli couplings by checking the suitability of components defined by your specifications. Quality Production, metrology and metallurgy departments all use the latest technology to ensure quality is central to both product and process. All the component parts of our couplings are subject to specific monitoring ensuring even material traceability. Products are assembled in a clean environment, tested to precise specifications and packaged to ensure we deliver quality items that are suitable for your application. The Quality department is able to carry out product acceptance testing in our factory with your assurance teams. Effective testing and measurement are used to qualify your products, including: - 3-axis optical measuring machine, - X fluorescence, - spectrometer, - test equipment: helium, gas, (from vacuum to bar), oil (up to bar), water (from 0 to bar) hydraulic and pneumatic flow / pressure drop tests, thermal shock testing, vibration and mechanical endurance tests, corrosion resistance tests (salt mist cell). Designed to meet your needs - locking system: The type of locking system is designed to meet the ergonomic and technical requirements of your application: button locking, ball locking, screw lock, bayonet, claw mechanism etc. (3) - materials: Are carefully selected for each specific application, stainless steel for high pressure, titanium for submarine applications, high-quality aluminium alloys for on board applications, etc. - seals: Specified to meet the exacting requirements for each application, depending on fluid, and temperature. - other characteristics: to be defined among various bore sizes, end connections, types of mounting (blind mate, panel mounting, hose fitting), operation functions (connection under residual pressure, etc), types of connection: single or multiple.
