The product can be treated in a single pass for true in-line work or may be recirculated for an alternative way of batch processing. The main advantage of the MEGATON System MT 5000 pilot plant ist the possibility of simulating later production on a laboratory scale. These tests can be done with a minimum amount of product and energy. It is also possible to use the MT 5000 as an industrial processor for small quantities. It chops, grinds, mixes and blends large amounts of product in a more economical, faster and better way than any other device. High Flexibility The ideal processor configuration is selected from a choice of four different working chambers and four dispersing generators. Working chambers are available with cooling/heating jackets (MTK) or without (MTO). The same applies for the optional available circulating tubes and vessels. For pharmaceutical applications, a special sterile version, FDA approced, is available. A new style single mechanical seal is used in the working chamber which is cooled and lubricated by the product. It offers three benefits: No need for water cooling No product contamination by the seal flush Working pressures up to 50 bar are possible There are also versions which offer the possibility of connecting a non-pressure back-up cooling quench (Q = Quench) as a fail-safe option. The rotor/stator shear generators are designed for efficiency and longevity. The rows of teeth are thicker for strength, gaps between rotor and stator are narrower for higher shear. An ongoing research cooperation with the Swiss Federal Technical Institute provides new and improved generator designs and geometries for specific and standard applications. The combination of high tip speed of the rotor and the specific design of the entire generator, result in higher shear forces and greater throughput. Five different program sets can be permanently stored and recalled for routine work under identical conditions. This worthwile option also allows the connection of the MEGATON System MT 5000 to a computer via a S 232 interface. A control software program is optionally available and allows to experiment with additional parameters. Complete In-Line Systems - Your Small Processing Plant The real benefit of a homogenizer is given when it is offered as a complete working system which includes all necessary peripherical accessories. We can complete your MT 5000 with circulating tubes and working tanks. These items can be chosen from our standard program. They are available as complete sets made of glass or stainless steel, with or without water jackets. They can also be built according to your specific requirements, e.g. for working under pressure. Superb Swiss workmanship gives you precision parts with the surface finish required in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Certain applications, e.g. chemical reactions, can only be accomplished successfully if the components are mixed right inside the generator. This is possible by adding a manifold which allows injecting of fluids or gas straight into the center of the generator. This prevents the single components coming into contact with each other and therefore eliminates the risk of pipe blocking and any uncontrolled reaction.
