This means that the core drilling unit consumes less power, putting less pressure on the user, core bit and the tool. The combined centring and ejector pin automatically ejects the drill core once you have broken through the material. In FEIN core drilling units, the already high magnetic holding force of the electromagnets is automatically increased when drilling is started. This ensures that the drill jig remains secure even when the drill shaft is experiencing high torque levels. 27 COOLING AND LUBRICATING Long service lives perfect drilling results. Sufficient and reliable cooling increases tool service lives and guarantees better work progress. In FEIN core drilling units, the coolant is supplied by an integrated interior cooling lubrication. The coolant and lubrication fluid is delivered straight to the core bit s cutters. 32 COUNTERSINKING Countersinking for perfect screw head connections. FEIN core drilling units are characterised by their versatility. They are ideal for all work on completed drill holes, such as deburring or creating profiled or flush offsets. We would particularly recoend deburring and if necessary sinking the drill hole for screw and rivet connections. Only then will screw heads, nuts or rivets sit exactly on the workpiece surface. Depending on the core drilling unit you can use various countersinks for this. For countersinks with a taper holder, the tool is used directly in the drill shaft. If the countersink has a cylindrical holder, you can clamp it using a drill chuck. 33 REAMING Reaming for precise holes with outstanding surface quality. Reaming creates precise holes with high surface quality. FEIN core drilling units are also ideal for this application, as they offer impressively high concentricity and a precise dove-tail guide, which are required for reaming work. This makes them the ideal tool for mobile reaming in metal and machine construction. Depending on the tool and diameter of the hole, the clamping thickness for reaming is between 0.1 and 0.8. The ideal core bit speed depends on the core bit diameter, the drill type and the material to be drilled.
