2 Deusches Insiu für Bauechnik General Technical Approval No. Z Page 2 of 10 I 3 July 2015 I GENERAL PROVISIONS 1 The general echnical approval proves he usabiliy or applicabiliy of he objec of approval in accordance wih he sae building codes. 2 If he general echnical approval specifies requiremens specific o he experise and experience of he persons enrused wih he manufacure of consrucion producs and wih building echniques referred o in 17 para 5 Model Building Regulaion based on he relevan naional rules i is o noe ha his experise and experience can also be proven by equivalen evidence of oher Member Saes of he European Union. This is also possibly applicable o any equivalen evidence presened wihin he framework of he Agreemen on he European Economic Area (EEA) or oher bilaeral agreemens. 3 The general echnical approval does no replace he legally required sauory consens, approvals and cerificaes for he performance of building projecs. 4 The general echnical approval is graned, wihou any prejudice o he righs of hird paries, in paricular privae propery righs. 5 Manufacurers and disribuors of he cerificaion objec, mus, wihou prejudice o any furher regulaions specified in he "Special Provisions", provide he user of he approved iem copies of he general echnical approval and poin ou ha he naional echnical approval mus be available a he applicaion sie. Upon reques, copies of he general echnical approval shall be made available o he auhoriies involved. 6 The general echnical approval may only be reproduced in is enirey. Any excerp requires he approval of he German Insiue for Building Technology (Deusches Insiu für Bauechnik). Texs and drawings of adverising brochures shall no conradic he general echnical approval. In case of any differences beween he German version of he general echnical approval and is English ranslaion, he German version shall prevail. Any ranslaion of he original German version of he general echnical approval mus show he noe Translaion no checked by he German Insiue for Building Technology". 7 The Naional Technical Approval is issued subjec o revocaion. The provisions of he general echnical approval can be subsequenly supplemened and amended, paricularly if so required by new echnical findings. Z /15

3 Deusches Insiu für Bauechnik General Technical Approval No. Z Page 3 of 10 I 3 July 2015 II SPECIFIC PROVISIONS 1 Subjec of approval and field of applicaion The subjec of approval is a design, which is composed of several consrucion producs, namely of load-carrying, space-enclosing roof elemens (profiled shees) and non-load carrying, space-enclosing plasic ligh pahs and associaed fasening elemens (aluminium holders or hermal holders possibly wih hermal dowels) and selfdrilling screws. The roof elemens are made of succo-paerned, brigh-rolled, galvanized or plasic-coaed aluminium ape, which is deformed in he cold sae o profiled shees wih rough-shaped cross-secion or wih ribs being parallel in he supporing direcion. The holders are made of exruded aluminium rods. The hermal holders being used alernaively o he aluminium holders and possibly in connecion wih hermal dowels, as well as he hermal dowels are made of fiberglass-reinforced polyamide. The self-drilling screws covered by his general echnical approval, which are used for mouning he holder on he subsrucure, are made of sainless seel. Individual plasic ligh pahs are laid beween he profiled shees, if necessary. The plasic ligh pahs correspond in heir geomery o he profiled shees o he exen ha hey can be placed anywhere beween he profiled shees. The connecion wih he profiled shees is carried ou a he laeral edge ribs wih closure srips specifically provided for his purpose. The profiled shees are conneced coninuously wih each oher by crimping he side edge ribs of adjacen roof elemens in a rainproof manner. The connecion o he subsrucure is effeced by he aluminium holders or hermal holders crimped beween he edge ribs, no visible from he op or, which are fixed o he subsrucure. The general echnical approval regulaes he manufacure of consrucion producs and he use of he design. 2 Provisions for he consrucion producs 2.1 Properies and composiion Dimensions The dimensions of he profiled shees, he aluminium holders and dowels and of he self-drilling screws mus comply wih he specificaions in he Annexes. As regards he deviaion limis of he nominal plae hickness of he profiled shees, olerances shall be in accordance wih DIN EN 485-4: , for he lower deviaion limis, however, only half he values Maerials Profiled shees The maerial used for he producion of profiled shees wih he shee hickness specified in he annexes shall be he aluminium alloys EN AW-3004 or EN AW-3005 according o DIN EN 573-3: If he aluminium ape is manufacured in plaed version, he layer hickness mus be, on each side, a leas 4% of he nominal plae hickness. As plaing maerial, he aluminium alloy EN AW-7072 according o DIN EN 573-3: shall be used. * The exac dimensions of he self-drilling screws shown in Annex 6 and Annex 10.4 are deposied a Deusches Insiu für Bauechnik. The marking may only be performed if he requiremens of Secion 2.3 are me. Z shall apply. 2.3 Proof of compliance General The confirmaion of conformiy of he consrucion producs wih he provisions of his general echnical approval mus be performed for each manufacuring plan wih a compliance cerificae on he basis of an in-house producion conrol and a regular exernal monioring including an iniial es of he consrucion producs in accordance wih he following provisions. For he issuance of he cerificae of conformiy and he exernal monioring including he produc ess o be carried ou, he manufacurer of he consrucion producs has o conac a recognized cerificaion body as well as he monioring body in his respec. The declaraion ha a cerificae of compliance is issued, shall be indicaed by he manufacurer by marking he consrucion producs wih he conformiy mark (Ü mark) referring o he inended use. The German Insiue for Building Technology shall receive - for informaion purposes - a copy of he cerificae of conformiy issued by he cerificaion body In-house producion conrol In each manufacuring plan, an in-house producion conrol shall be se up and performed. An in-house producion conrol is he monioring of he producion o be coninuously performed by he manufacurer, wih which he ensures ha he consrucion producs manufacured by him will comply wih he provisions of his general echnical approval. 6 Deusches Insiu für Bauechnik General Technical Approval No. Z Page 6 of 10 I 3 July 2015 The in-house producion conrol shall include a leas he following lised measures: - Profiled shees: In he manufacuring plan, he dimensions required by Secion 2.1 (in paricular, also he shee hickness) shall be verified by regular measuremens. Opionally, he cladding hickness a each coil shall be esed by microsecion on he finished rolled maerial. For each maerial delivery, he maerial properies of he base maerial required by Secion mus be checked. The proof of he maerial properies of he base maerial shall be provided by an inspecion cerificae 3.1 according o DIN EN 10204: The conformiy of he informaion conained in he inspecion cerificae 3.1 wih such provided in Secion mus be checked. Per coil, a bend es according o DIN EN ISO 7438: shall be carried ou in order o demonsrae adequae deformabiliy of he base maerial and he profiled shees. No cracks may occur. - Aluminium holders, hermal holders, hermal dowels: The dimensions of he holders required by Secions and and possibly of he dowels mus be checked regularly. The proof of he maerial properies of he base maerial shall be provided by an inspecion cerificae 3.1 according o DIN EN 10204: The conformiy of he informaion conained in he inspecion cerificae 3.1 wih such provided in Secion mus be checked. Self-drilling screws The corresponding provisions of he General Technical Approval no. Z shall apply. The resuls of he in-house producion conrol are o be recorded and evaluaed. The records shall include a leas he following informaion: - Descripion of he consrucion producs or of he base maerial and he componens - Type of conrol or esing - Dae of manufacure and esing of he consrucion produc or of he base maerial or of he componens - Resuls of he inspecions and esing and, comparison wih he requiremens - Signaure of person responsible for he in-house producion conrol The records mus be kep for a leas five years and submied o he involved monioring body for exernal monioring. They have o be presened o he German Insiue for Building Technology and he supreme building auhoriy upon reques. In case of unsaisfacory es resuls, he manufacurer shall iediaely ake he necessary measures o remedy he defec. Consrucion producs ha do no mee he requiremens mus be handled such ha any confusion wih maching producs can be excluded. Afer eliminaion of he defec, he es in quesion has o be repeaed - if echnically possible and necessary o demonsrae he removal of defecs - iediaely. Z /15

7 Deusches Insiu für Bauechnik General Technical Approval No. Z Page 7 of 10 I 3 July Exernal monioring In each producion plan, he in-house producion conrol should be checked regularly by exernal monioring, a leas wice a year. In he conex of exernal monioring, an iniial check of he consrucion producs is o perform, and he following ess shall be performed on a random basis: - Profiled shees: On a random basis, ess of he dimensions and maerial properies shall be performed. The exernal monioring mus prove ha he requiremens acc. o Secions and are being me. Aluminium holders, hermal holders, hermal dowels: On a random basis, ess of he dimensions and maerial properies shall be performed. The exernal monioring mus prove ha he requiremens according o he Secions 2.1.1, , and are me. Self-drilling screws The corresponding provisions of he General Technical Approval no. Z shall apply. Sampling and esing are he responsibiliy of each of he recognized body. The resuls of cerificaion and exernal monioring shall be kep for a leas five years. They have o be presened o he German Insiue for Building Technology and he supreme building auhoriy upon reques. 3 Provision for design and dimensioning 3.1 General A saic calculaion shall, in each individual case, furnish proof of he serviceabiliy and he srucural safey. The regulaions in he Technical Building Regulaions shall apply, unless oherwise provided hereinafer. 3.2 Assumed loads (impacs) Dead weigh of profiled shees The dead weigh of he profiled shees can be found in he annexes Individual load The proof of carrying capaciy for he profiled shees under a single load of 1.0 kn according o DIN EN : in conjuncion wih DIN EN / NA: Table 6.10DE is considered o be furnished by compliance wih he provisions of his approval (see Secion 5) Waer bag The provisions according o DIN : , Secion shall be applicable muais muandis. 3.3 Saic Sysems The profiled shees may be formed in a single-span manner or coninuously over several fields. The cenre disance of he holders shall be assumed as bearing disance. Coninuous beams wih spans less han 1.0 m mus be proven wih a calculaed span of a leas 1.0 m. 3.4 Evidence for he handling of loads acing a righ angles o he laying surface Calculaion of sresses The Technical Building Regulaions shall apply, unless oherwise provided hereinafer. The sresses are basically o be calculaed using he heory of elasiciy. Z /15

8 Deusches Insiu für Bauechnik General Technical Approval No. Z Page 8 of 10 I 3 July 2015 The serviceabiliy proof may be performed wih he same combinaion coefficiens as for he srucural safey analysis and ϒ M = Calculaion of load capaciies from he characerisic values of resisiviy As regards 65 high profiled shees of he same ype wih widhs beween he widhs shown in he annexes, he characerisic values of resisiviy may be deermined by linear inerpolaion. DIN EN in conjuncion wih DIN EN / NA and he informaion provided in he annexes shall apply. The values specified in he annexes or in he corresponding general echnical approvals (e.g. Z ), he European echnical approvals, ETAs and sandards (e.g. DIN EN 14592: in conjuncion wih DIN : and DIN EN : in conjuncion wih he Naional Annex may be charged as characerisic values for he maximum loadable forces of he connecions of he holders o he subsrucure. To deermine he load capaciies from he characerisic values, he respecive parial facor ϒ M specified in he annexes should be used. 3.5 Calculaion of deformaions The characerisic value for he bending momen of ineria can be found in he annexes. 3.6 Roof shear Any ransmission of shear and normal forces acing in he roof plane, due o he roof slope, by he profile shees mus no be aken ino accoun by calculaion wihou special design requiremens - e.g. formaion of fixed poins (see also Secion 4.1.). The forces from fixed poins are o follow in he subsrucure. 3.7 Diaphragm acion Any diaphragm acion of he profiled shees for siffening he overall building or o sabilize he subsrucure agains laeral-orsional buckling may mahemaically no be considered. 4. Provisions for he execuion 4.1 Profiled shees The profiled shees mus be conneced a each edge rib by aluminium holders or by hermal holders or hermal dowels o he subsrucure. For fixing he profiled shees a hea movemens and o ransfer he roof shear wih sloping roofs fixed poins are o provide. Transverse joins are only permied, even if, under full load, an iaculae waer drain is sill possible. Transverse joins mus be carried ou direcly on a suppor, when he join is made a a fixed poin. Oherwise, he profiled shees are o join shorly above a suppor. For roof slopes of up o 17 (30%), he cross-overlapping of he profiled shees mus be a leas 20 cm, wih larger roof slopes of a leas 15 cm. When using he profiled shees as a waer-bearing ouer shell of roofs, he following minimum roof slopes mus be observed: For roofs wihou ransverse joins or welded ransverse joins, he minimum roof slope is 1.5 (2.6%). The required minimum roof slope increases wih roofs wih sealed ransverse joins and / or breakhroughs (e.g. skylighs) o 2.9 (5%). Z /15

9 Deusches Insiu für Bauechnik General Technical Approval No. Z Page 9 of 10 I 3 July 2015 The increase in he minimum roof slope required for roof peneraions - e.g. for skylighs - may be waived under he following condiions wih he simulaneous fulfilmen: 1. Compleely welded roof curbs will be used. 2. The roof curbs made of aluminium are welded wih he roof upper shell from he profile shees welded such ha an absolue ighness is reached. The requiremen of minimum roof slope will be omied (locally resriced) for he ridge area if he roof elemens in he area wih roof slopes of 2.9 (5%) are placed coninuously in a non-abuing manner over he ridge. The "racks" formed by he profiled shees mus run in he direcion of he roof slope. 4.2 Plasic ligh pahs A each plasic ligh pah, a leas 3 profiled shees need o be conneced on boh sides (see also Annex 7 and Annex 10.1). Furhermore, Secion 4.1 applies muais muandis. 4.3 Aluminium holders, hermal holders and hermal dowels For he connecion of he profiled shees wih he subsrucure, aluminium holders or hermal holders are possibly o be used in conjuncion wih hermal dowels in accordance wih he sysems, whose upper end is o be crimped each wih he profiled shees. The holders mus be aached direcly o subsrucures made of seel, aluminium or wood. The aachmen of he holders o he subsrucure is made using he suiable faseners specified in he annexes and in he general echnical approvals (e.g. Z ), European echnical approvals, ETAs and sandards (e.g. DIN EN 14952: in conjuncion wih DIN : ). When using hermal holders in connecion wih hermal dowels, he hermal dowels are o be pressed hrough he hea insulaion up o he supporing subsrucure, and here hey shall be fasened. Subsequenly, he hermal holder is placed on he hermal dowel and is fixed by screwing (approx. 90 ) on he hermal dowels. For connecions of he profiled shees o concree subsrucures, sufficienly anchored, coninuous seel componens (e.g. HTU racks or 8 hick fla seel) or wooden slas (minimum hickness of 40 ) wih a minimum widh of 60 shall be placed inbeween. 4.4 Suppor Deph 4.5 Verge The purlin widh may no be less han 60 a end and inermediae suppors. To ensure he susainabiliy of he final suppors, a profiled shee overhang of a leas 70 is required. The exposed edges in clamping direcion of he profiled shees are o be siffened by a suiable edge siffening (verge profiles). 4.6 Insallaion of profiled shees The profiled shees may only be insalled by professionals of he manufacuring plan or by companies appropriaely insruced and empowered by he manufacurer. The manufacurer or laying person of he profiled shees mus prepare an execuion insrucion for he laying of he elemens, and his has o be handed over o he assembly firms. Profiled shees wih damages including plasic deformaion may no be insalled. When using profiled shees of differen shee hickness in a roof, hey mus be marked in accordance wih he shee hickness, o avoid any confusion. Z /15

10 Deusches Insiu für Bauechnik General Technical Approval No. Z Page 10 of 10 I 3 July 2015 The individual elemens are o be joined iediaely afer laying by doveailing he edge ribs. Aenion mus be paid o a proper connecion wih he holders. If he insallaion of he profiled shees is inerruped, he las fixed profiled shee shall be basically secured agains lifing. Any addiional securing agains lifing will also be required, if he srucure is exposed, in he consrucion sae, o higher sresses from wind loads han in he final sae. During assembly, any profiled shee no ye fasened a one edge may be accessed up o he limi spans according o he Annexes 3.1 o 3.9 wihou load disribuing measures. For larger spans, i may only be enered via planks placed on (see Secion 5). Individual, no doveailed profiled shees and plasic ligh pahs may no be accessed. Afer compleion, he roof shall be cleaned of objecs (e.g. drill cuings, pins of blind rives). The compliance of he design wih he provisions of his general echnical approval mus be cerified by he consrucion company. The clien mus be informed abou he provisions referred o in Secion 5. 5 Rules for use, mainenance and servicing Afer compleion of he roof, he profiled shees may be accessed for cleaning and mainenance wihou any load-disribuing measures up o spans according o he Annexes 3.1 o 3.9. Load disribuing measures (e.g. wooden planks of soring class S10 a leas in accordance wih DIN : or he srengh class C24 according o DIN EN : in conjuncion wih DIN : wih a cross-secion of 4 cm x 24 cm and a lengh of > 3.0 m) are o be used when he span exceeds he above maximum values. Plasic ligh pahs may no be accessed. The provisions of Secion 5 are o provide o all persons responsible for mainenance and servicing.
