Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia (KMMG) is the first manufacturing site in North America for Kia Motors Corporation based in Seoul, Korea. With an annual capacity of 360,000 units, KMMG is located on 2,200 acres in West Point, Georgia, and began mass production on Nov. 16, KMMG is home to the Sorento CUV and the Optima mid-size sedan, two of the brand s top selling models in the U.S. Since the start of hiring for production team members in 2008, KMMG s presence in West Point is responsible for the creation of more than 14,000 jobs in the region. KMMG currently employs more than 3,000 team members and operates three shifts of production. Approximately 7,000 jobs have been created by Georgia-based suppliers and an additional 4,000 positions have resulted from new plant startups and added shifts from suppliers in Alabama.
