Unrestrained Single Expansion Joint An Unrestrained Single expansion joint is best used when piping systems are equipped with proper guides and anchors, to absorb axial, angular, and a small amount

Each is available in 15, 50, 150, and 300 psi and manufactured from T321 or T316 stainless steel. Inside diameters range from 2-30 (Pre-Engineered 300 psi expansion joints are available up to 24 i.d.). Basic Bellows A Bellows is an expansion joint without end fittings. Skirt (cuff at end of bellows) is sized to fit into flange or over pipe. Please specify at time of order. Unrestrained Single Expansion Joint An Unrestrained Single expansion joint is best used when piping systems are equipped with proper guides and anchors, to absorb axial, angular, and a small amount of lateral movement. It allows for some axial movement as well as lateral movement; however, the rod spacers protect the expansion joint from over-compression or overextension. Main Anchor Guides Main Anchor Example of a Limit Single expansion joint used in piping systems with main anchors. The limit rods prevent damage to the expansion joint and piping system by absorbing full pressure thrust. Tied Single Expansion Joint A Tied Single expansion joint is best used in piping systems without a main anchor. It allows for lateral movement only while retaining pressure thrust. It is important to specify which one is needed when ordering. Hose Master s pre-engineered expansion joint products (minus bellows with skirted ends) are fabricated with one of three basic end configurations (see below as well as in the End Configurations chart on the opposite page). E x p a n s i o n J o i n t F i t t i n g s Though there are a variety of fitting types available upon request, there are three basic fitting types that are most commonly used. The standard tag is welded to the expansion joint and is imprinted with the sales order number, manufacturing date, part number, design pressure, and design temperature. If needed, a custom metal tag can also be ordered to accommodate any additional information you may require. Bellows do not have metal tags but can be provided with a custom wire tag when necessary.
