1 HIGH PRESSURE FILTERS Series HF2P Pressures to 3000 psi Flows to 25 GPM Port Size 3/4 APPLICATION HYDAC HF2 Inline High- Pressure Filters are designed for use on hydraulic power units, machine tools, plastics, injection molding equipment, mobile equipment, and hydraulic test equipment. These filters can be installed on the high-pressure side of the pump to protect control valves and actuators from contamination. These filters can also be used as Inline Return Filters. HYDAC Betamicron Elements with 3, 5, 10, or 20 micron absolute ratings are installed in HYDAC HF2 Filters. HF2P-04 conforms to Military Spec. AN6235-4A configuration. Directly interchanges with Pall 9020 and Parker 15 P series filters and Moog series HP 010 and 020 filters. PRODUCT FEATURES HF2 filters are manufactured with anodized aluminum head and bowl. Non-welded housing design reduces stress concentrations and prevents fatigue failure. Inlet/Outlet port options include SAE straight thread O-ring boss and subplate mounting to allow easy installation without costly adapters. O-ring seals are used to provide positive, reliable sealing. Choice of O-ring materials (Nitrile, FluoroRubber, EPR) provides compatibility with petroleum oils, synthetic fluids, waterglycols, oil/water emulsions, and high water base fluids. Screw-in bowl mounted below the filter head requires minimal clearance to remove the element for replacement, and contaminated fluid cannot be washed downstream when element is serviced. Clogging indicators are actuated by differential pressure and have no external dynamic seal. High reliability is achieved and magnetic indicator actuation eliminates a potential leak point. A poppet type bypass valve is typically mounted inline between the inlet and outlet port to provide positive sealing during normal operation and fast response during cold starts and flow surges. FILTER ELEMENTS HYDAC HF2 Filters are available with disposable HYDAC Betamicron BN3 and BH3 elements having 250 psid and 3000 psid collapse pressure respectively and absolute ratings of 3, 5, 10, and 20 micron (Beta Ratio > 200). For non-bypass applications, HF2P Inline Filter Betamicron BH3 elements must be installed. If a by-pass valve is used, Betamicron BN elements can be installed. Betamicron filter media is constructed to maximize flow fatigue resistance in highly dynamic systems. Proper support of the filter media also provides high Beta Ratio values (particle removal efficiency) even at high differential pressures. The efficiency of many competitive elements drastically deteriorates as the element clogs and differential pressures increase. Non-bypass option available for critical cleanliness requirements. Heavy-gauge perforated support tubes are used to provide proper flow distribution and protection against element collapse.
