1 Regulatory Information and Introduction A-dec products. The information contained here supersedes regulatory information included in any other document that came with your A-dec product. Equipment Alterations Policy beyond its design and intent, or which override any safety features of A-dec equipment may that diminish safety design include, but are not limited to: rendering access to the line voltage dental system. The use of accessory equipment not complying with the equivalent safety requirements of A-dec equipment may lead to a reduced level of safety of the resulting system. It is the responsibility of the equipment distributor and the installer to assure that the installation complies with all building code requirements. The responsibility to determine Universal and Instrument Cautions CAUTION All plumbing and utilities must conform to prevailing local codes. CAUTION The manner and method for accessing utilities within the wall is the responsibility without the use of tools. CAUTION CAUTION that the covers are secure after replacing them Rev K

2 Safety Considerations for Accessory Equipment The use of accessory equipment not complying with the equivalent safety requirements of this equipment may lead to a reduced level of safety of the resulting system. Caution must be used when connecting medical products to a multiple socket outlet due to the combination of leakage currents between products when the ground connection to the building is broken or disconnected. Consideration relating to the use of accessory equipment shall include evidence that safety standard along with any national deviations. in ~ Anyone connecting additional equipment to the signal input part or signal output part is the non-medical equipment is intended to be isolated from medical equipment using a medical grade isolation transformer. ~ isolated output, you must add a separate medical grade power supply for the electric motors or replace the A-dec power supply with one that ~ isolated output. A-dec dealer or distributor. Preventative Inspection Over time, wear and tear can affect the performance of the equipment. Periodically inspect the water and air lines for any visible cracking or cuts in the tubing which can lead to leaks. Inspect Service Life Service Life is the expected functional use limit, based on product design goals. Service Life is separate from the warranty period; there are no implied or explicit extensions of the warranty period. Service part availability is dependent on A-dec suppliers and product obsolescence timelines Rev K

Capability to anchor the chair to the floor, with a minimum pullout load of 100 lb (445 N) for one anchor-bolt. Utility Requirements Air NOTE Job site construction should be completed before the dental equipment installation (including finished floors, ceiling, plumbing, lighting, paint, etc.). CAUTION Local regulation may require licensed plumbers and electricians to install the utilities. All plumbing and utilities must conform to prevailing local codes. CAUTION The manner and method for accessing the utilities within the wall is the responsibility of the design team working on the project (dental dealer, architectural services, and contractors). Utilities must be accessible without the use of tools. 1/2" (13 mm) nominal pipe compression fitting protruding 2" (51 mm) from the finished floor or wall, supplied by the contractor. Right angle manual shut-off valve supplied by the dental dealer and installed by the contractor. Air pressure and flow of psi ( kpa), 2.5 scfm. (71 sl/min) during normal use; 7.5 scfm (210 sl/min) peak intermittent flow. Air plumbing to be flushed clean before the final connection to the dental equipment. Water 1/2" (13 mm) nominal pipe compression fitting protruding 2" (51 mm) from the finished floor or wall, supplied by the contractor. Right angle manual shut-off valve supplied by the dental dealer and installed by the contractor. 72 Troubleshooting Theory of Operation Fresh water flows through the water strainer assembly, solenoid valve and anti-siphon valve. (In recycler models water also flows through a water bypass valve.) The water is injected onto the pump seal to provide cooling and lubrication. Water flows into the rotating impeller which creates a whirling ring of water inside the pump housing, isolating each chamber of the impeller. The impeller is mounted off-center. As it turns, the space in each chamber expands and decreases once with each rotation. This creates low pressure on the inlet side and higher pressure on the outlet side. On recycler models, water is forced out of the pump housing into the recycling chamber. Vacuum created at the intake port in the pump housing draws a steady stream of water from the water recycler. Recycled water mixes with the fresh water in the pump housing and the process is repeated. When the recycling chamber is full of water, any excess is exhausted out of the housing and through the waste line. Separator Equipment Alert Harmful odors, vapor contaminants and nitrous oxide gasses are vented out the separator, while liquid waste flows out of the lower drain and into a P -Trap or floor sink. Verify all local codes. Exhaust Water Source Troubleshooting Page Motor will not Start when Turned ON... A-6 Pump Runs but has Low Suction...
