11 EVERCONNECT TM Product Data Sheet No-Hub Couplings, Standard This product specification addresses the material, standards and properties of standard no-hub couplings, used in joining hub-less cast iron soil pipe and fittings. Material: Patterned Stainless Steel Shield Worm Drive Band Stainless Steel Housing and Clip Gasket Shield assembly and clamp, Type 304 stainless steel, bright annealed, Rockwell hardness B85. Band, Type 304 stainless steel, 165,000 psi minimum tensile strength. Stainless Steel Screw housing, Type 304 stainless steel. Worm Screw Screw, Type 305 stainless steel, 5/16 hex head/shoulder. Gasket, the rubber gasket provides a cushioning element in the joint to absorb shock and vibration to help create a noiseless plumbing system. Marking, Certification, Standards: Product standard ASTM C 1277 Gasket standard ASTM C 564 UPC and CSA certification Product Description and Dimensional Details: 1-1/2, 2, 3 and 4 couplings consist of a 3 wide bi-directional, patterned 304 stainless steel shield with two (2) stainless steel clamps mounted in a series, secured in place by means of fixed & floating eyelets to allow the clamp travel during tightening. 5 through 10 couplings consist of a 4 corrugated 304 stainless steel shield and four (4) stainless steel clamps. Installation Instructions: 1. Place gasket on the end of one pipe and clamp the assembly over the other pipe. 2. Fit second hubless pipe end into gasket, firmly putting both ends against the rib, or shoulder, in the center of the gasket. Make certain the pipe and/or fitting to be joined are in proper alignment, then slide the loose coupling over the gasket so that the gasket is completely covered. 3. Using a calibrated torque wrench, tighten the stainless steel screws alternately to the proper torque pounds (60 pounds/inch). 10

13 EVERCONNECT TM Product Data Sheet No-Hub Couplings, Heavy Duty (Husky) More effective joint movement restraint - Stainless steel strap bands are 12.5% thicker than on traditional no-hub couplings, providing a positive seal when properly torqued to 80 pounds/inch. Stronger, more uniform scaling capacity - Axially slotted clamp bands tighten independently to accommodate variances in outside diameters of cast iron pipe and fittings. Greater surface load bearing - Wider 304 Series stainless steel shield accommodates additional sealing clamps to provide for greater load bearing contact. 1-1/2-4 sizes: Four stainless steel bands 5-15 sizes: Six stainless steel bands. Higher resistance to shear forces - Rugged construction, excellent sealing properties and the arrangement of intermittent corrugations in the outer stainless steel band provide resistance to shear forces and help alignment while maintaining flexibility. Corrosion resistant Series stainless steel combined with significant deflection factor makes this coupling highly dependable above and below ground. Safe and easy to install - Flanged gasket helps maintain alignment during installation and tapered ends on shield reduce friction & prevent injury from sharp edges.
