Never install communications wiring in wet locations unless it is designed for wet locations. 2. Never install this product during a lightning storm. There is a remote risk of electric shock. 3. Never touch uninsulated communication wiring or terminals unless the communication circuit has been disconnected at the network interface. 4. 3 Step 1 Install 12-Port Modular Jack Panel slot hole (Typical of 2) cutouts latches Front label (2 ea) latches Front label cover, clear (2 ea) cutouts Label holder (2 ea) slot 1. Position wall bracket against the mounting surface in the desired position. Note: The bracket has two slots and two holes that can be used for mounting. Either slots or holes may be used, but the two used should be on opposite ends of the bracket. 2. Place a mark on the mounting surface where the center of the two holes or slots to be used are located. 3. Using a 1/8-inch drill bit, drill a hole 5/8 inch (16mm) deep at both places identified in item Position the bracket over the holes and using the two screws provided, secure the bracket to the mounting surface. Note: For mounting on surfaces other than wood or sheet metal, obtain the appropriate mounting hardware locally. 5. Align the four cutouts on the edge of the panel into the latches on the bracket and push to secure the panel into the bracket. See above figure. 6. The panel may be removed from the bracket, flipped over and remounted to assist in terminating the conductors. Terminate the conductors per Step 2. Step 2 Route Cables, Terminate and Seat Conductors Due to limited space between mounting bracket and rear of panel, cables should be routed from each end as shown CommScope, Inc. 4 1. Use a 110 D-Impact tool to seat and terminate conductors per the illustrations shown and the wiring tables on the next page. Do not use a UN788H1 tool. (6) 4-Pair Cables per Module 2. Wiring labels for 4-pair cables and EIA-T568B wiring are equipped on the rear of the modules. 3. If T568A wiring is desired, first remove the "B" type label and then place the "A" type label. Do not place the "A" type label on top of the "B" type label." 4. These can be replaced to support the use of 25- pair cables and EIA-T568A wiring. Replace as appropriate prior to terminating the conductors. Replacement labels are supplied. 5. Use wiring tables to terminate conductors at the modular jack panel.
