4 MASTER CONTRACT: Page No: 2 Date Issued: April 27, GENERAL: This report covers the custom testing of Ferraz Shawmut Inc., Type HSJ, 30A, 60A, 100A, 200A, 400A and 600A, 600V ac and 500V dc, Class J fuses, at 950V dc two fuses in series. The tests were performed at Ferraz Shawmut High Power Lab, Newburyport, MA, USA. The reference standards are indicated in the Applicable Requirements. The following test program has been agreed upon for the subject Attestation Report. i) IR Test: 65, 950V dc, 2.7 msec time constant and 40kA, 950V dc, 15msec time constant. ii) Minimum Breaking Current (MBC): The test currents at 950 V dc are listed below: Fuse Amp MBC(Amp) Ratio HSJ HSJ HSJ HSJ HSJ HSJ APPLICABLE REQUIREMENTS: CSA Std. The tests were performed at Ferraz Shawmut High Power Lab, Newburyport, MA, USA. All tests were witnessed y a CSA-I representative. The reference standards are indicated in the Applicable Requirements Ferraz Shamut Inc. 6 MASTER CONTRACT: Page No: 4 Date Issued: April 27, CONCLUSIONS: Ferraz Shawmut Inc., Type HSJ, Class J, 600V ac fuses (30A, 60A, 100A, 200A, 400A and 600A) performed satisfactorily at a test voltage of 950V dc with two fuses in series (test details as identified in Item 1) when tested in accordance with CSA std. C22.2 No However, circuit conditions, Ip/I2t values obtained during testing and MBC values for specific size have to be taken into account while selecting the fuse for an end use application.
