Or call ) Flat-tip screwdriver Blanket INSTALLATION Customer Information: The information in this installation instruction is intended for use only by skilled technicians who have the proper tools, equipment, and training to correctly and safely add equipment to your vehicle. These procedures should not be attempted by do-it-yourselfers. 1. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the audio unit and navigation system (if equipped), then write down the radio station presets. 2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. 3. Remove the fuse box cover (four retaining tabs). 3 4. Remove the driver s under cover (turn the knob, two clips, and one pin). 7. Remove the steering column lower cover (three self-tapping screws). PIN 2 CLIPS KNOB Turn. DRIVER S UNDER COVER BB 5. Pull away the door seal from around the driver s kick panel, and remove the driver s kick panel (two clips and three retaining tabs). DOOR SEAL Pull away. Push. Push. 4 9. Remove the front bumper. Remove the front bumper molding (six clips). 6 CLIPS MOLDING Remove the top clip. With the help of an assistant, release the six retaining tabs on each side, and remove the front bumper. Place the front bumper on a blanket. Remove the left bumper cover (two self-tapping screws and three retaining tabs). 5 11. Install the left fog light cover to the front bumper with three retaining tabs and one self-tapping screw removed in step Plug the fog light harness 2-pin connector into the left fog light. Install the left fog light to the front bumper with two 5 x 14 mm self-tapping screws and one self-tapping screw removed in step 10. SELF-TAPPING SCREW Reuse. 2-PIN CLIP 4-PIN AD 15. Secure the fog light harness 4-pin connector clip to the left fog light. 16. Locate the green tape on the fog light harness. Install a wire tie with holder around the fog light harness at the green tape, and attach the wire tie to the left fog light cover. 6 17. Route the other fog light harness 2-pin connector to the right side of the front bumper, and plug the 2-pin connector into the right fog light. RIGHT COVER RIGHT 19. Secure the fog light harness to the front grille with four wire ties in the areas shown. FRONT GRILLE WIRE TIE WITH HOLDER CLIP 2-PIN WIRE TIE AD 20. Plug the subharness 1-pin connector into the vehicle 1-pin connector below the driver s headlight. DRIVER S HEADLIGHT AD 18. Attach the clip to the right fog light. 7 21. Locate the vehicle ground bolt. Remove the vehicle ground bolt, and install the ground terminal from the subharness using the vehicle ground bolt. 24. With the help on an assistant, bring the front bumper close to the vehicle, and plug in the subharness 4-pin connector. Reinstall the front bumper. Insert the wire tie with clip into the hole in the vehicle frame. 25. Install the relay into the relay block. 8 26. Plug the relay harness 8-pin connector into the open 8-pin connector in the fuse box. 27. Plug the relay harness 1-pin connector into the vehicle 1-pin connector. VIEW FROM FRONT FUSE BOX 8-PIN OPEN 1-PIN 1-PIN CB 8-PIN CB 28. Remove the lower hood opener bolt. Secure the relay bracket to the vehicle panel with the hood opener bolt. NOTE: If the 8-pin connector is already used by another accessory, locate the 8-pin connector taped to that other accessory harness. Remove the tape and dummy connector from that other accessory harness. Plug the fog light harness 8-pin connector into that other accessory harness. 9 29. Install the connector clip onto the relay harness relay block. 32. Turn the steering wheel counterclockwise. Unplug the vehicle harness connector from the light switch. TAB HOLE CASE HOOD OPENER BLOCK Push. Turn. BRACKET CLIP CLIP BLOCK BB 30. Secure the relay block connector clip to the relay bracket. 31. Secure the relay harness to the vehicle harness with four wire ties. LEVER LIGHT SWITCH RETAINING TAB SELF-TAPPING SCREW Reuse BB 33. Remove two self-tapping screws from the light switch. While pressing on the case, slide the light switch case and remove it from the steering column. Do not pull on the lever when removing the case. Do not damage the tab hole on the steering column. 34. Install the new light switch to the steering column with two self-tapping screws. Press on the case, and set the retaining tab into the tab hole. Do not push on the lever when installing the case. 10 36. If a fuse is already installed in the fuse box, go to step 37, otherwise, insert the 20A fuse into the fuse box. FUSE BOX 38. Using isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel, thoroughly clean the fuse box cover where the blank fuse label will attach. Attach the fuse label to the fuse box cover at the location shown. INSIDE VIEW OF THE FUSE BOX COVER BLANK FUSE LABEL 20A FUSE FUSE BOX BLANK FUSE LABEL Attach here. INSERT THE 20A FUSE IN THIS SPOT VIEW FROM FRONT 9N1001AB 37. If an option fuse 20A label is already attached to the fuse box cover, go to step 38. If not, use isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel to thoroughly clean the fuse box cover where the fuse label will attach. Attach the 20A fuse label to the fuse box cover at the location shown. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly and all connectors are plugged in. 40. Reinstall all removed parts. 41. Enter the customer s anti-theft code for the audio and navigation system (if equipped), and reset the radio station presets. 42. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery. 43. Reset the clock. 44. If the IMA battery level gauge display is at zero, start the engine, and hold it between 3,500 rpm and 4,000 rpm (without load) in P or N position until the IMA battery level gauge display shows at least halfcharged. 11 Use and Care Operate the Fog Lights Turn the headlight switch to the position (headlights on low beam). Turn the fog light switch on (indicator is on). If the fog lights do not turn on, check the fuse and all the connectors, including the ground cable. Fog Light Aiming Adjustment 45. Aim the fog light: Adjust the aim according to local laws and regulations. To adjust, turn the adjustment screw in or out until the correct aim is obtained. 12 Bulb Replacement 1. Release the inner fender (two clips). 3. Install the new bulb to the fog light. Use only a genuine Honda halogen light bulb of specified wattage. Rating: 12V 55W H11 Halogen Light Bulb P/N S5A-0030 Do not touch the bulb. Oily or greasy substances on the bulb can shorten its service life due to the heat produced when the bulb is turned on. If the bulb is accidentally touched, wipe it clean with a soft cloth that has been dampened with a denatured alcohol or a mild detergent solution. When installing the new bulb, align the cutout on the fog light with the tab on the new bulb and turn the new bulb clockwise until it locks. If not properly aligned, the fog light may annoy oncoming drivers. FRONT INNER FENDER Turn down. CLIP AD 2. Insert your hand inside the inner fender. Unplug the connector from the fog light, and remove the bulb. TURN NEW BULB NEW BULB BULB 2-PIN AD AD 4. Reinstall the removed parts in the reverse order of removal. Check that the wire harness is not pinched. Install the clips securely. 5.
