No cash or cheques will be accepted at PRASA offices (Bank Deposit or Electronic Payments - allow for 1-day delay). Clearly indicate the Tender Number on the Deposit Slip or EFT document as reference. Bidders failing to attend the compulsory Bid briefing session will be disqualified. PRASA reserves the right to only allow Bidders in possession of a valid Bid document at the briefing. A maximum of two representatives per company will be allowed to attend the briefing. THE ONUS IS ON THE TENDERER TO PRINT THE DOCUMENT FROM THE CD DISC AND SUBMIT PRINTED TENDER DOCUMENTS WHEN SUBMITTING THEIR TENDERS. 3 SPECIFICATION 1. SCOPE OF WORK Repairs to 10M5 and 5M2A door gear system components 2. WARRANTY The repaired components must be supplied with a 6 months comprehensive warranty from date of delivery. Suppliers to provide data or inspection sheets for each component repaired or refurbished. No component will be accepted by PRASA without the inspection sheet. 3. TRANSPORT The delivery and collection of the components will be at the cost of the Contractor. While in transit, to and from the Rolling Stock Springfield depot, the supplier will be held liable/responsible for the loss or damages to the components. 4. PACKAGING Due to the sensitivity of the components they must be individually bubble wrapped and packaged into boxes. 5. DELIVERY 15 working days from the date of the Purchase Order. 6. PENALTIES Should the Contractor fail to deliver on the stipulated date, a penalty of R per day will be charged. 7. COMPLIANCE Non-conformance (NCR s) must be return within 7 working days. 8. TIME FRAME The time frame for the contract will be for 24 months, on an As and when basis. 9. CONTRACT PERIOD AND VALUE This contract shall commence immediately after it is awarded and will be for a period of 24 months or when a value of R2.5million (including VAT) is reached. The contract will terminate, either when the twenty four months elapses or when the contract value is reached or whichever comes first. 10. TO BE PROVIDED BY THE CONTRACTOR Proof of experience in the repairs of 10M5 and 5M2A door gear system components. The contractor will be responsible for the safety and protection of all Rolling Stock components at their site until the components are returned to PRASA. 11. GENERAL The Contractor shall at all-time be responsible for supervision of the work and for follow-up instructions to monitor that the work is being done to specification. The contractor shall immediately take appropriate remedial action, in areas where the specified standards are not achieved.

4 The Contractor must allow PRASA representatives to visit their plant/workshop/ sites, anytime to monitor/inspect refurbishment process and their facilities. Metrorail KZN shall at any time during Contract period carry out inspection of the contractor s performance methods and procedures. The contractor must provide the necessary transport, equipment, tools, consumables, supervision, protection and labour necessary to successfully complete the contract. 12. SAFETY The Contractor must comply with the requirements of safety legislation and regulations (OSH Act) in all respects. The Contractor will be responsible for all protective clothing and equipment for his employees. 13. MEASUREMENTS AND PAYMENTS Any rejected and incomplete work will not be paid for until it is rectified. Completed work will be inspected and Invoices must be submitted to Rolling Stock department, after passing the inspection tests.

Strip and filter regulator Inspect air cocks for any damages and leaks (replace if necessary) Replace water traps Inspect the reducers for any damages (replace if necessary). Remove and replace Cup seal plunger Remove and replace all O-ring Examine Circlip for any damages(remove if necessary) Examine Restrictor valve for any damages (remove and replace if necessary) Examine Mounting bracket for any damages(remove if necessary) Fit new Ellen key bolts (if necessary) Replace Elbow pushing connector
