1 Shenandoah County Fair Truck and Tractor Pull Saturday, August 24, :15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. An entry fee of $10.00 per class will be charged this year. All trucks and tractors must be registered between 10:45 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. Trucks and Tractors must be owned and operated by residents of Shenandoah County. A mandatory drivers meeting will be held at the scales beginning at 11:45 a.m. The Young Farmer Truck and Tractor Pull will be run in conjunction with the modified pull. Every attempt will be made to conclude the pull at 5:30 p.m. to allow for the modified pull to start at 6:30 p.m. Please note that this may require a class to be scratched. Classes: 5,500 lb. 2 SHENANDOAH COUNTY TRUCK and TRACTOR PULLING CONTEST The Shenandoah County Young Farmer Association will hold its annual Tractor Pulling Contest on August 24, 2013, at 12:15 p.m. in front of the grandstands of the Shenandoah County Fairground in Woodstock, Virginia. Contestants must be 18, or with parent s permission and have drivers license. All entries must be made between 10:45 a.m. and 11:45 a.m., Saturday, August 24, on the stage at the fairgrounds. No one will be registered after 11:45 p.m. An entry fee of $10.00 per class will be collected at registration. Prize money: 1 st - $ Trophy 2 nd - $ Trophy 3 rd - $ Trophy 4 th - Trophy Non-turbo Class: 5,500, 7,500, 9,500, and 12,500 classes Non-turbo tractors may pull only in non-turbo class. Turbocharger Class: 9,500, 12,500 and 15,500 classes (only factory turbo or factory add-on turbo) Turbo tractors may pull only in turbo class. Open Farm Class: 18,000 lbs. 2WD or 4 D tractors Street Diesel Truck Class 8,000 lbs. Drivers meeting at scales: 11:45 a.m. All contestants must pay gate admission Section I: Operation of Contest 1. Trucks and Tractors must be owned and operated by residents of Shenandoah County. 2. Each tractor may be entered only in two classes, excluding the 18,000 lbs. open class, but only once in each class,. Non-turbo tractors may not pull in turbo class, turbocharger tractors may not pull in non-turbo class. 3. Number one puller will be test puller, except in pull-off, and may take pull if weight machine is o.k., or he may pull in third position. If weight machine needs further adjustment, first puller after each adjustment will be treated as number one puller. All decisions on re-pulls must be made before truck or tractor in question is unhooked from sled. On any re-pull caused by a contest malfunction, puller at his discretion may drop back 3 positions. Any disqualification on first attempt bars a second attempt. In a pull-off, after first puller has made a legal pull, all remaining pullers must hook and pull at that weight.

3 4. Contestants must pull at position drawn within three minutes of time sled is in readiness; and delay will mean disqualification. If presiding judge is notified before preceding contestant makes his pull, he may drop a contestant having mechanical problems to the end of the line. This may be done only once per contestant per class. 5. All pulls must start a tight hitch; no jerking permitted. Contestants will be allowed two consecutive attempts and seventy-five feet to start the sled. 6. Trucks and Tractors must remain within boundaries of contest course during the pull or will be disqualified. 7. All pulls shall operate with two flagmen. Number one will be responsible for readiness of track, pulling machine and contestant. Number two will be responsible for balance of course. 8. No changes of weights or mechanical repairs are allowed on track. 9. Contest to be covered by judge or judges with all decisions final. Judges have the right to stop and disqualify a vehicle if it is not being operated in such a manner as would be considered safe. 10. Violation of any rule shall constitute a disqualification. 11. Any protest of a contestant must be made before the contestant leaves the track. Section II: Safety and Truck and Tractor Operation 1. Trucks and Tractors must be operated in a safe manner at all times. 2. Operator must remain seated during the pull and must have complete control of the vehicle at all times. 3. All tractor seats must pass safety inspection. 4. No consumption of alcoholic beverages in the track or pit area either before or during a contest, or by drivers at any time prior to the pull. If judge believes any driver to be a potential safety hazard because of such consumption, such driver may be barred from the contest. 5. Trucks and Tractors must be stopped immediately upon signal from judge. The pull shall be considered over when forward motion of the load stops. 6. Excessive loss of liquid by a vehicle while in forward motion during contest on track will be cause for disqualification unless due to internal breakage. (Excessive is defined as any steady or intermittent stream discharge on the track, or a spot equivalent to more than an eight-inch diameter.) 7. All vehicles must be in neutral or park (transmission selector) while being hitched or unhitched.

4 8. Lights off while on track, lights on while on infield. Section III: General Tractor Rules 1. All non-turbo stock tractors are agricultural tractors having factory equipment, except Turbo. All turbocharger tractors are agricultural tractors having turbochargers. All tractors must have working PTO. 2. Contest open to tractors with rubber tires. No four-wheel drive allowed. Except in 18,000 lb. Open Class. Neither will dual tires, tire studs, tires over 24.5 width, or chains be permitted. All power must be transmitted through the wheels. 3. All engine fans must be shrouded 360 degrees. 4. Factory installed Turbocharger must pull in Turbo class. Turbochargers must be under hood and of the size and type used for farming. No other extra performance equipment may be used. No electric fuel pumps, no water injection, and no cut tires. Injection pump, lines, and injectors must be stock. If tractor is in question, the officials have the right to investigate and disqualify the tractor. 5. No weight-frame or weight may extend more than 24 inches beyond the most forward point of tractor and no more than 20 inches out from the side wall of the rear tire. 6. All exhausts must discharge vertically above the highest point or horizontal to the rear of the tractor with the exception of roll bars and be securely attached. Rain caps will not be allowed. 7. Tractor must be equipped with drawbar with minimum drawbar length 18 inches from center of rear wheel to point of hook. Drawbar to be stationary in all directions. Maximum height of 21 inches from top of hitching device parallel to ground. Drawbar must be equipped with a steel clevis not more than 1-inch thickness and a 3-inch diameter. If auxiliary hitching plate or round stock is used it must be 1 solid piece that shall be a minimum of 3/4" in thickness with a 3" hole. 8. No pressurized fuels allowed except U.L. approved pressure tanks. No oxygen allowed. 9. No portion of tractor may interfere with sled or sled hitch during a pull. 10. All weight must be safely secured to the tractor, and must not interfere with hooking up of sled. No added weight will be on floorboard or in cab for safety reasons. Any ballast or parts lost while hooked to sled will be cause for disqualification. NOTE: A 6" side clearance should be allowed for at clevis opening. 11. All tractors must be quipped with workable rear wheel brakes. 12. The use of torque converters, automatic shifts, etc., will be permitted.

5 8000 LB. STREET DIESEL 4X4 TRUCK GUIDELINES 1. Trucks must be owned and operated by residents of Shenandoah County. 2. ALL TRUCKS COMPETING IN THIS CLASS MUST: A. BE STOCK IN APPEARANCE FLOOR IN BED MUST BE SOLID. B. BE POWERED BY A DIESEL ENGINE DIESEL FUEL ONLY. C. HAVE STATE REGISTRATION IDENTIFICATION FOR HIGHWAY USE. D. BE LICENSED FOR HIGHWAY USE IN VIRGINIA. E. HAVE CORRECT LICENSE PLATE ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE. F. THE REGISTRATION IDENTIFICATION AND LICENSE PLATE MUST MATCH. G. INSURANCE SLIP IS REQUIRED MATCHING THE VEHICLE AND WILL BE CHECKED. H. HAVE A WHEELBASE AS MANUFACTURED NO ALTERATIONS TO WHEELBASE. 3. NO STUDDED TIRES, TIRE CHAINS, OR ANY TIRES NOT SPECIFICALLY INTENDED FOR STREET USE ARE PERMITTED. TIRES MUST CARRY A D.O.T. NUMBER ON THE SIDEWALL. NO CUT OR GROOVING ALLOWED. MAXIMUM TIRE SIZE IS 12.5 X 35 OR EQUIVALENT METRIC SIZE. 4. WEIGHTS ARE PERMITTED ONLY IN THE BED OF THE VEHICLE. WEIGHTS MUST BE SECURED TO PREVENT SLIDING AROUND IN THE BED. NO FRONT WEIGHTS ALLOWED. 5. DIESEL ENGINE MUST HAVE BEEN ORIGINALLY INTENDED FOR THE PICKUP TRUCK BEING PULLED. SINGLE TURBOCHARGER ONLY PERMITTED UNLESS FACTORY EQUIPPED WITH DUAL TURBOCHARGERS. DUAL CHARGERS MUST BE STOCK, AS THEY COME FROM THE FACTORY. NO NITROUS, PROPANE, OR WATER INJECTION ALLOWED. PROGRAMMERS AND CHIPS ARE ALLOWED. 6. TURBOCHARGERS MUST BE IN ORIGINAL LOCATION. TURBO SIZE IS LIMITED TO 2.6. BUSHINGS ARE NOT ALLOWED. AIR TO TURBO CANNOT BE DRAWN FROM ANYWHERE ELSE. ONLY ONE OEM APPEARING INJECTION PUMP ALLOWED. 7. THE VEHICLE AND VEHICLE DRIVELINE BEING USED (INCLUDING THE FRONT AND REAR AXLES, CLUTCH, TRANSMISSION, AND DRIVESHAFT) MUST HAVE BEEN ORIGINALLY PRODUCED FOR DIESEL ENGINE TRUCK USE. 8. THE VEHICLE MUST HAVE A WORKING SUSPENSION, FRONT AND REAR, IS REQUIRED. NO BLOCKED (SOLID) SUPSENSIONS ALLOWED. BOLT ON STOPS ALLOWED BUT THERE MUST BE AT LEAST 1 UP TRAVEL BETWEEN REAR END AND STOP. TRUCK MUST HAVE STOCK FRAME FOR MAKE AND MODEL OF VEHICLE. ONE REAR TRACTION BAR ON EACH SIDE ALLOWED OTHERWISE REAR SETUP MUST BE STOCK. 9. EXHAUST MAY BE OTHER THAN FACTORY. STACKS ARE ALLOWED. ENGINE AND RADIATOR MUST BE IN THE ORIGINAL LOCATION, AS PRODUCED BY THE MANUFACTURER. ALL ENGINE FANS MUST BE SHROUDED. 10. THE HITCH POINT TO BE A MAXIMUM OF 20 INCHES FROM THE GROUND. THE HITCH POINT MUST BE STATIONARY IN ALL DIRECTIONS. A CLEVIS OR REESE TYPE HITCH WITH A THREE INCH HOLE IS REQUIRED NO PULLING FROM THE BUMPER. THE HOOK POINT MUST BE FURTHEST POINT TO THE BACK OF THE TRUCK. 11. SNOW PLOW MOUNTING BRACKET(S) ONLY ARE ALLOWED NO EXTRA PLATES FOR WEIGHT ALLOWED. NO PLOW BLADES. 12. ALL BODY PARTS MUST REMAIN INSIDE THE CAB OF THE TRUCK WHEN COMPETING. 13. HELMETS ARE RECOMMENDED. SEAT BELTS MUST BE USED. 14. MAXIMUM 3 LIFT ALLOWED. 15. IF PROMOTER OR FLAGMAN DETERMINES YOUR TRUCK IS TOO HOT FOR THE CLASS YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
