1 Mud Slingers Shootout Rules Provided by the Kansas Mud Racing Organization The KMRO has no grey area policy. You need to be sure you fit in these rules or call an officer to help you. The officers of the KMRO will put you in your competition class at the time of Tech and registration. You can to have a hard copy of the rules sent to you via snail mail, or you can simply print this copy off the site - Let s have a great Season!!! ALL CLASSES WILL BE DETERMINED BY OFFICIALS. ALL DECISIONS ARE FINAL! IF IT S NOT LISTED HERE YOU CAN T DO IT. *Absolutely no alcohol/drugs will be allowed before or during competition. Officials have the right to enforce and disqualify driver and vehicle from competition at this event, which no refund will be given. *No hot-rodding will be allowed. Driver and vehicle will be disqualified with no refunds and will forfeit all winnings and entry fees. *Drivers must have a valid license and be at least 14 years old to compete. 14 and 15 year olds will be required to show proof of driver s license, have a licensed driver over 18 in the vehicle and pay rider fee. *Truck entry fee for members is $20.00, non-members is $25.00; goes to payout. ATV entry fee for members is $10.00, non-members is $15.00; $7.00 goes to payout. First, Second, and Third cash prizes are paid back on 50%, 30%, 20% splits along with trophy/plaque. $5.00 non-member fee goes to the KMRO. *Vehicles are limited to 2 runs per class with 1 driver, 4 runs per day total. This excludes class 10. *Riders must be at least 14 years old and have all safety equipment approved by Officials that are equivalent to driver s safety equipment. Riders are not allowed in classes 3 and 4. Riders must request at tech inspection. Riders will not be added without an Official s authorization. Rider fee is $5.00 and will go to the pit operators. *NO interference of riders during the run. If the rider interferes with the driver, the run will be disqualified. The driver must be able to drive vehicle without the assistance of the rider. *If vehicle breaks, refund must be requested to Officials before last run of class. If vehicle is to run twice in class, request must be made before next run.

2 DRIVER SAFETY: *All drivers and riders must wear DOT approved helmets in classes 1, 2, 7B, 8A, and 8B. In classes 3-7A and 9 must wear SNELL SA-95 / M-95 or better. *No open footwear will be allowed. *Classes 3, 4, 9 and 5- if nitrous, drivers and riders are required to wear complete fire suit (including head sock, shoes and gloves), unless naturally aspirated with gasoline fuel. A full leather shoe/boot will be accepted. *All vehicles in classes 3-7A must carry a fully charged 2-½ lb. A, B, or C fire extinguisher with a dial gauge, and approved by ICC, UL or Coast Guard. This is also recommended for all other vehicles. Must be mounted in plain view and with a suitable quick release bracket securely mounted within driver s reach. Behind driver is not accepted. *Vehicles without full windshield are required to wear face shield, goggles, or safety glasses. Sunglasses are not acceptable. *All vehicles are required stock factory seatbelts for driver and rider. A 4/5-point harness is recommended. In vehicles with cab swaps, 4-point harness is required. Hitching Point Hitching point must be easily accessible and of substantial construction. No tow hooks, chains, straps, cables, or frame rail holes permitted. Shackles or pulling on the rear axle are not accepted. If using the stock or an add-on bumper; the mounting brackets must be at least ¼ thick, with all bolts in place. A rear axle hitching point is accepted on vehicles with 3 or 4-link suspension, subject to official s approval. Hitching point must have a clevis with a 2-inch loop. A pintle hook (rather than a clevis) will pass as long as the top jaw locks and releases properly. Tires If not stamped, official will measure horizontal across lock out. Running Order 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7A, 7B, 8A, 8B, 9, 10 Register and Stage Vehicles will be inspected by officials and must register one hour before event time begins. After that time, the vehicle will be considered late. Late entries run 1 st in class and do not get a re-run option. There is to be NO substitute drivers. Drivers have 2 minutes to get to the line. If you re having mechanical problems get an official.

3 Drivers Meeting The drivers meeting is mandatory 30 minutes before the run begins. Class 1-ATV 2x4 1. No dual wheels. 2. ATV s must be in 2-wheel drive. Class 2-ATV 4x4 1. 4x4 ATV s. Class 3-Super Modified up to 44 DOT Cut Tires 1. NO tractor-tire vehicles point roll cage. 3. 4x4 with front and rear differentials. 4. May be chain or gear driven. 5. Frame can be tube or rectangle wheel base max. 7. Any type engine and modification. 8. Dual carburetors, injection, turbo and superchargers allowed. 9. Gasoline, alcohol or nitrous allowed. 10. Body must be metal and/or fiberglass and extend to firewall. 11. Floor plate/ floor pan over transmission and driveline. 12. Firewall must be between driver and engine. 13. No adding rubber to tires. 14. Transmission shield required. 15. Kill Switch-has to be at back of vehicle.

4 Class 4- Super Modified up to 44 Unlimited Paddle Tires 1. NO tractor-tire vehicles. 2. Same rules as class 3, except can use paddle tires. 3. Transmission shield required. 4. Kill switch- has to be at back of vehicle. Class 5-Super Modified up to Dual carburetors allowed. 2. No alcohol. 3. No exotic heads. 4. If cab swap, must have 4-point roll cage and 4-point harness. 5. Minimum of one drive shaft loop per drive shaft. 6. Nitrous allowed-fire suit mandatory, if nitrous. 7. Chain drive allowed. 8. Engine must be within 12 from front axle. 9. Any type suspension. 10. Transmission shield required. 11. Kill Switch- has to be at the back of the vehicle if body swap. Class 6-Super Modified up to No dual carburetors. 2. No alcohol/nitrous. 3. No exotic heads. 4. If cab swap, must have 4-point roll cage and 4-point harness. 5. Minimum of one drive shaft loop per drive shaft. 6. Transmission shield required.

5 7. Kill Switch-has to be at the back of the vehicle if body swap. If no body swap can be factory ignition. Class 7A-Super Modified up to No dual carburetors. 2. No alcohol/nitrous. 3. No exotic heads. 4. If cab swap, must have 4-point roll cage and 4-point harness. 5. Kill switch- has to be at the back of the vehicle if body swap. If no body swap, can be factory ignition. 6. Minimum of one drive shaft loop per drive shaft. 7. Tranny shield required. Class 7B-Stock Modified up to Registration and license not needed. 2. Engine must match make of truck. 3. Factory ignition. 4. No racing fuel or additives. 5. No traction devices. 6. No dual carburetors. 7. No aftermarket aluminum heads. 8. Stalls allowed. Class 8A-Stock Modified up to Registration and license not needed. 2. Engine must match make of truck. 3. Factory ignition. 4. No racing fuel or additives.

Battery and radiator in stock location. Class 8B-Stock up to Registered and licensed. 2. Factory interior. 3. Stock ignition. 4. No racing fuel or additives. 5. No stalls. 6. No traction devices. 7. Engine must match make of vehicle. 8. Full Factory Body - only exception: tire clearance. 9. Battery and radiator in stock location. 10. Fuel tank needs to be factory location unless relocating out of cab. 11. Must pull 16 in. # vacuum at 900 RPM. 12. Must have factory cast intake manifold and exhaust manifolds. Class 9-Tractor Tire Unlimited 1. Vehicles that ran in classes 3 and 4 cannot run in class No buggies. 3. 2x4 or 4x4 allowed. 4. Any wheelbase allowed. 5. No cut DOT or paddle tires.

7 6. Tractor, implement bar lug or uncut DOT tires only. 7. No minimum or maximum tire size. 8. Any fuel. Class 10-Open 1. Vehicle can only run once. 2. No buggies. 3. $10 entry fee-winner takes all. 4. All safety rules apply. 5. Vehicle is to discretion of officials. 6. Class 10 is to the discretion of the officials and pit operator, not every event will have a class Class 10 registrations will be announced during the run, and a closing time will also be announced. 8. After class 10 registration closes, new numbers will be drawn for the running order. **NOTE: Some Aluminum heads are allowed - Please call to verify.
