After a busy year for many of us, we have lots of news to share starting with an exciting new Amthor innovation. The CLAW, a series of hydraulic arms to open and close the rear door on vacuum trucks, increases driver safety and saves money on unnecessary tank repairs due to incorrect operation. Amthor s CLAW design can be used on any code or non-code vacuum tank and has a minimal increase in cost over the standard wing nut design. There are also new additions to Amthor mobile, including a new Amthor app for IPhone and Android and a micro site for the vacuum industry specifically designed for the ease of use on hand held devices. The first two, for the refined fuel and propane industry under the domains and rolled out earlier this year. The purpose of the Amthor International vacuum micro site is to provide complete product details and fast information for this specific industry. This micro site features full specifications and photos of the Amthor vacuum line, product features and benefits, and information about Amthor International, Inc. provides contact information and a link to the complete Amthor International site for access to other lines of tanks, stock units, tank financing, photos, and much more. The micro site is easily accessible on smart phones, tablets, and computers and will enhance Google searches for vacuum equipment. Amthor International has developed The Claw (patent pending). The Claw is a series of hydraulic arms that are used to open and close the rear door, eliminating the use of wing nuts along the top and sides (there are two at the bottom at ground level, which are required by law). No longer does your driver have to climb in the air to tighten down the rear door; all he has to do is pull a lever and the arms extend and reach out to release or pull the door in which will give you a much tighter seal than any human can provide manually. 7 AMTHOR INTERNATIONAL Production Scheduling Goes Digital One of the latest Amthor innovations is our newly released online and app based production schedule through Trello. Customers, dealers, and distributors can now have real time access to their tank production schedule to see where their tank is in the production line, estimated ship time, view photos of their tank, plus much more. We are very excited to have this new system in place and ready to go. stated Brian Amthor. This is something that no one else in our industry does and we are proud to be the pioneer of this white-glove service. Amthor International is a very progressive company and this type of system is important for our customers. They will have constant updates, streamlining the communication process between Amthor and its clients. The response we have received from our customers has been extremely positive. The new production system can be accessed online or downloaded as an app for any smartphone or tablet. As soon as an Amthor client purchases a new tank they get immediate access to their schedule until that unit delivers. 9 SPOTLIGHT ON Hank Vanderveen HANK VANDERVEEN, Amthor s National Vacuum Tank Product Manager has been in the vacuum industry for over 45 years and has seen lots of changes in the business over the years. In 1971, the vacuum technology was not dependable; it was cumbersome and downright messy, explained Hank. Today, vacuum tanks are lighter, carry bigger payloads and are reliable. Hank remembers demonstrating the features and benefits of a new and improved vacuum tank to a customer who watched in amazement. The client said that he felt guilty charging a homeowner for the few minutes it now took to pump a holding tank, Hank related. The technology became so much faster, it really helps clients grow their businesses. Hank has seen vacuum tanks grow from 1600 gallon capacity to today s 4000 gallon capacity. Today s aluminum tanks weigh half of their carbon steel counterparts of twenty years ago.
