1. Part of script 1.1 Concepts of product CD1 and MD1 series of wire-rope electric hoist are improved ones on the basis of the original CD and MD. They are widely used and very popular among users because of their characteristics of tight structure, smart body, safety and reliability, common-used parts, well changeable property, strong lifting capacity as well as convenient maintenance. The hoist exist in form of stationary style and crab-style, the former is divided into four style that is A1, A2, A3 and A4 according to the position (up, down, left and right) of the fixed trestle. It can be installed directly on the frame. The latter with movable function can be installed on the track. CD1 model lifts with single speed, and MD1 model not only with dual speed but also with low speed. On such a basics, CD1(CD), MD1(GDS) and WH164 20t, 32t are developed by our technicians. They share the same structure principles and installations ways with the original CD1 and MD1. The following contents all take CD1 and MD1 for example. Our running scope mainly lies in series of electric hoist with 0.25t-32t load and 3m-30m height. In addition, your special needs shall be met and non-standard hoists shall be manufactured. 1.2 Chief use The crab-model installed on many kinds of cranes of suspending from T-steel can lift heavy objects straight or in a curve. The stationary ones installed on fixed trestle can lift object vertically of from different angles. The product are widely used at industry or enterprises, railway, harbors, warehouses and materials sites etc. They are indispensable machinery to improve working conditions and efficiency in manufactory. 1.3 Applicable scope and working conditions The product applies to such an environment as no fire, no explosive danger, no corrosive media and no dirt exist. And the temperature id between 20 degree and 40 degree up zero, the witness is no higher than 85%, the elevation is below 1000m. It is banned to lift metals, poisonous, combustible and explosive objects. The applicable power source is 3- phase alternating current (A.C for short ), 50Hz (60Hz) frequence and (380v-660v) voltage. Their rated load must be reduced by 20% according as their working grade increases by one grade compared to their middle-level working grade. 1.4 Specification and exterior structure Example for Specifications CD1 (MD1) 5 9 D ( A2) Rated load is 5t Lifting height is 9m D for Electric -crab model CD1 with usual speed A2 for stationary model MD1with usual and low speed Specification, technical data and exterior installation dimensions ( see table 4) Diagram of Exterior structure ( Diagram 1-7) 1

1.5 Transmission structure and working principles CD1(MD1)---Model electric hoist mainly consist of three parts, the first is lifting mechanism, the second traveling mechanism and the last electric equipment Lifting mechanism In this mechanism, the lifting motor drivers the roller to rotation through the reducer via the coupling, so that the wire -rope reeled on the roller and carry the hook to rise and fall. A claw -shaped coupling instrument is used to connect the motor axis with the input axis of reducers when the lifting height is 6m (H=6m), when H 9m, the intermediate shaft and rigid coupling are added Lifting motor The motor with large tractive force is employed to comply with the frequent direct traveling during course of working discontinuously. CD1-model is equipped with ZD-style single speed motor, and MD1 with ZDS-style double motor. The different between the usual speed and the low speed is 10: Reducers All reducers adopt 3-Level bevel gear. The gear and axes are made of alloy steel or qualified carbon-steel. Power heat treatment is conducted to ensure their reliability and life. Finally, the box -body and box-cover made of cast-iron are both well shake-reducing and sealed tightly Roller The roller is made of cast- iron or seamless steel and transmits power through spline. Its case is made of welded steel plate. This is the core part of the hoist, whose side is connected to traveling mechanism. Its ends are respectively connected with lifting reducer and the motor its button cooperates with book through wire-rope. And on the top-front of the case installed the limiter's guide bar Hook The hook is forged of peculiar steel and connected to its case through cross beam via thrust ball bearing so that the hook can rotate freely. Hooks with 5-ton or less lifting capacity are single-pulley style and the 10-ton double-pulley style Traveling mechanism Electric bogie, traveling motor, traveling reducer together with driven crab compose the traveling mechanism which moves the main body to-and-fro through side plates and roller. Its traveling speed is generally 20m/min, and 30m/min is also selected sometimes. One set of driving devices is employed for 1t-5t, and two sets for 10t or more. Straight wheel tread is designed for those used together with box-girder or H shape steel, and circular are tread for those with l-steel Electrical equipment This mechanism consists of electric control box button switch. limiter and connecting wire etc. The operating voltage is usual 36v, press the button correctly according to the marked direction on the button switch and control the hoist through the on-and-off of the relay in the control box. The illustrations should be used together with the attached motor and circuit diagrams. 1.6 Installation and adjustment Installation Check and preparation before installation a) check and accept according to the packing list after the electric hoist arrives at the installation site. Then examine whether there are damaged or lost components during the course of transportation. 2

b) Read carefully the illustrations and other attached documents to understand their structure. c) The traveling bogies current-leading instrument and the hook are always packaged separated with the main body, so reassembly is necessary when installed. d) Clear up the oil stain and rust-proof paint on the tread of the electric bogie. e) Do examiner whether the chock has flaws like crackles or burr before installing the rope key. During installation, the wire - ropes must be put into the rope groove and plug chocks tightly, then install wire rope clips well and inspect their reliability. f) Fill the lifting and traveling reducer with oil according to the illustrations, then seal the oil - hole tightly to stop the oil from leaking. g) Understand the installation spot and prepare the installation facilities Installation The rail frame used for the movement of the electric hoist is selected and designed according to standard GB by users themselves. Adjust the electric and drive bogies with spaces when installing to ensure the space between the wheel edge and rail flange is 3-5mm In according with different hoists, please install the electrical equipments referring to relevant circuit Points for attention to installation a) Elastic buffer should be set at the two ends of the rail in order to make sure that the hoist doesn't deviate from the rail when it reaches the end or to prevent bumping into the body. b) The rail or the connected frame should be equipped with earth-connecting wire as which bare copper wire with the diameter of Ф4-5mm or metal conducting -wire with the section no less than 25mm can serve. c) All power circuit in the electric equipment, and the resistance to ground of the controlling circuit should be no less than 1.5Ω per working voltage Examination and adjustment Check whether all connected parts are firm, whether all the assembly meets the requirement, whether the power source complies with the rules, whether the circuit is right, whether the brakes and limiter devices are reliable and acute, whether the reeled rope around the rope guider are smooth, whether the bogie deviates from the orbit, whether the contact between the wheel tread and the rail is good etc. Correct in time the moment troubles occur. Table 3 lists some methods usually used to deal with troubles Adjustment Adjust the space between the bogie wheel and the rail flange to be in the scope of 3-5mm Adjustment of the running distance for the main motor axis The braking effect is the best when the running distance of the main conic motor axis is 1.5mm. Adjustment is necessary when the electric hoist slides too far with rated load. Adjust as follow: a) adjustment of the motor on the hoist below 5t : take off the rear cover, loosen the four bolts fixing regulation nuts. Spin the regulation nuts clockwise to the limited position, then spin counterclockwise one circle, and finally tighten the bolts. b) Adjustment of the motor on the 10t hoist :the sequence is the same with a)expect the spinning direction. That is to say, clockwise spinning increase the running distance and the counterclockwise decreases it Adjustment to the power -cut limiter 3

The process of adjustment is realized through regulating the two bumping blocks on the position-limiting bars. The methods are as follows :loosen their their bolts, and the blocks lie on different sides of the rope guide so that blocking board can push the block freely. When the lifting motor starts, the board pushes the top block to move till the space between the case top edge of the hook pulley and the shell bottom edge of the roller is in the scope of 150mm-50mm. At the moment, stop and make the top block approach the blocking board. Finally, tighten the bolts. The adjustment to the bottom limit position is as the above expect the opposite direction 3 or more circle of wire rope should be left on the roller when the hook falls to the lowest point. After the adjustment, try to lift for several times to verify whether the top-and -bottom limited positions meet relevant requirement. 1.7 Test and accept Test with no load Press relevant buttons and check whether the movement of all mechanisms complies with the marked sign on the button. If right, try again for two cycles continuously Raise or lower the hook to the limited positions and check whether the position limiter is reliable Click the button and confirm the running distance of the motor axis which should be in the range of 1-2mm. It is not until there is no abnormal phenomenon occurring in the no-load test that the loading test can be conducted. The latter is carried out in two forms of static test and dynamic test. Examine whether there is unusual phenomenon Static test With rated voltage, add load gradually to 1.25times the rated load. Lift to position mm from the ground and stay for on less than 10min, unload and check with eyes whether there are abnormal phenomena like crackles or permanent distortion to all parts. If not, to be qualified Dynamic test With rated voltage, carry out dynamic test with 1.1times the rated load. The total test cycle is 30 seconds; that is 6 seconds to rise, 9 seconds to stop, 6 seconds to fall, another 9 seconds to stop. The test should last for 15 cycles. Then, see whether there are abnormal phenomena on every part. If not any, confirm to be qualified The braking motor should be adjusted to such an extent as the heavy objects can stop in the air. When stop during the course of falling with rated load, the sliding distance S Vup/100mm (Vup short for lifting speed with rated load) etc. 1.8 Points for safe operation Qualified operator Healthy and have a knowledge of machine and electrical operation Familiar to electric hoist's structure, performance, safety rules and such illustrations etc Work with training credentials Operation should be stopped under one of the following conditions Overloading or nor clear about the objects' weight, lift buried objects and pull slantingly There are defects or injuries which shall influence safe work, for example, the brakes or 4

position-limiter doesn't work, the nuts of the hook are damaged, the wear and tear of the steel-rope reaches the scrap standard and so on Possible sliding as result of loose binding or disequilibrium. Or there is no pad between edges of heavy objects and the wire-ropes Too dark at the spot to see clearly loaded objects Do not stop in the air for a long time Operating rules Each shift should conduct day-to-day examination according to Table Do not stop via position-limiter or adjust brakes while lifting heavy objects, carry out examination or maintenance As the heavy objects approach or reach rated load. Do try for a short distance and lift with the lowest height. Make sure there is nobody below when lifting objects or more-circle wire-rope must be left on the roller on safety grounds when the hook is at the lowest working position for the electric hoist without falling limiter Do not remove and revise the safety devices on the electric hoist Stop Check Eliminate troubles Restart, such a procedure should be obeyed when there is abnormal noise during the operation Requirements for users (See clause in standard ZBJ ) Electric hoists must be manufactured in specialized factories with manufacturing license Necessary rules and regulations for safe operation must be erected by users for special requirements of the user, necessary reset must be approves by the manufacturer and relevant labor protection authority Users should build files of their electric hoists. The following contents should be included, technical manufacturing documents of hoists, installation spot and starting time, records of installation and examination, records of daily use, maintenance and protection etc., accident records of equipment or persons, problems and appraisal to equipments. 1.9 Examination, maintenance and troubles-shooting. Trial examination to newly-installed, large-scale repaired hoists or electric hoists lying idle for one or more years should be conducted according to relevant installation rules. Three ways are as follows: Daily check: Table 7 lists examination items and requirements Monthly check: The examination cycle depends on the importance of every part to safe rotation, use frequency as well as property of easy damage or not. Accordingly, the examination is divided into three grades: First level is to check once a month, second level is once every three months and third level is once every six months. See table 8 for monthly check projects, requirements and grades Annual examination: full safe examination to usual electric hoist should be conducted once a year. Table 9 lists annual check projects and requirement Maintenance Regular lubrication and maintenance to the hoists should be carried out to ensure its reliability and life. Diagram 10 shows the lubrication parts and Table 6 and 8 lists lubrication norms Use, protection and scrap of steel-ropes Wire-ropes which can directly affect safe operation of hoists are the key parts of lifting 5

mechanism. They usually are scraped because of wear and tear, therefore, they should be always kept lubricative and examined at intervals. The wire-rope should be rejected when it meets article 2.5 in standard GB Practical norms of examination and rejection for wire rope of hoisting machinery or one of the following phenomena occurs. Then, broken ropes should be changed for new one in time. a) Densely broken wire or a ply of wire is snapped. b) The wear and tear or corrosion of the diameter of wire-rope reaches 7% the metric diameter even though there is no obvious broken phenomenon. c) The cutting amount per spill reaches the sum in table 1 and Maintenance Immediate maintenance, adjustments or part changes should be conducted to those which disagree with the requirements during daily, monthly and annual examination. a)the alternative components should have the same performance with original materials. b)when welding is needed, employed materials and welding quality should comply with the quality standard of original components. c)no maintenance while the electric hoists are working Easy-damaged parts Rope guide, scaled ring, braking ring and small high-speed gear of the traveling motor etc, are all easy to be damaged. 6
