4 Slurry injectors Innovative slurry injectors During the selection of the correct type of slurry injectors different factors come into play, such as soil type, crop, landscape, slurry tank, tractor, national legislation, and slurry legislation. 5 5 Slurry injection a European tendency A clearly visible tendency in the area of fertilizing is injecting slurry into the soil. Not only due to new laws and rules but due to the practical advantages of slurry injection as well. Injecting slurry into the soil namely ensures an optimum and verifiable distribution of the slurry per m² and at the same time ensures good aeration of the sod. This fertilizing technique also does not spread out the crop so that growth continuation, flavour, and quality of the crop are much better. Because the slurry is given off close to the roots, evaporation of the nutrients is kept to a minimum and slurry injector poison can be reduced. This means a significant cost savings. Furthermore, slurry injection does not cause odour nuisance and leaking into the soil and surface water so that it also is an ecologically sound way of fertilizing. Veenhuis offers a complete assortment of slurry injectors with different working widths and various specifications. However, what all slurry injectors have in common are high quality, long service life and a number of specific parts. Optimum slurry distribution, uniform slurry provision All Veenhuis slurry injectors are outfitted with the same cutting distributor developed by Veenhuis. This cutting distributor has outlets and feed through hoses of 60 mm. The so called dome lid and central input ensure an optimum liquid stream that leads the slurry through specially formed pass through holes so that a uniform slurry stream occurs. Because the slurry is cut at an angle, the chance for clogging is kept to a minimum. Extra knives can be assembled into the cutting distributor so that the distribution with thin as well as thick slurry, and high or low dosing is guaranteed. Due to separate seals the mixing of slurry and oil during leakage is impossible. The cutting distributor is always placed high up and has hoses running down for optimum slurry pass through to the specially formed discharge rubbers. Due to the form of the discharge rubbers, the slurry is put down horizontally and pressureless. On all sod slurry injectors hydraulic, double-controlled shutoff valves can be assembled. This feature comes standard for most models. The wide assortment of Veenhuis slurry injectors consists of the following machines.

6 Farmject and Ecoject The Farmject and Ecoject are light weight slurry injectors with a simple but sturdy frame construction. The Farmject is a slotted coulter slurry injector with specially formed and hardened bits, maintenance free and exceptionally suitable for hard soil types such as clay. The Ecoject is a sod slurry injector with massive, hardened coulter blades with a double locked bearing area. Both slurry injectors have a strong laminated suspension spring and galvanized elements whereby the coulters and blades are suspended two at a time each. The Farmject and Ecoject are ideal slurry injectors for the cattle farmer and small agricultural contractor. Farmject Ecoject Euroject 3000 and 3500 The Euroject is a professional slurry injector for large cattle farmers and contracting firms. The slurry injector has a strong frame with solid hinge construction, transport locking and transport width of approximately 2.85 m. The rhomboid elements are suspended track-following to the frame. The three part coulter blade ensures a cut with a perfect slot form that prevents the clogging up and pulling apart of the sod. The Euroject can be delivered in 2 models, the 3000 and The Euroject 3000 is a lighter slurry injector with a blade diameter of 300 mm, working width of up to 7.60 m and is developed for pulled tanks. The Euroject 3500 is a heavier slurry injector with a blade diameter of 350 mm, working width up to 8.75 m and is very suitable for large slurry injector tanks and selfpropelled equipment. Euroject 3000 Euroject 3500 Terraject farmland slurry injectors The Veenhuis Terraject is a series of 3 robust slurry injector types with different working breadths. The Terraject 200 has 2 rows of heavy-duty vibrating teeth and wear-resistant coulters that injects the slurry in a single action and is developed for trailer tanks. The Terraject 400 has 4 rows of heavy vibrating teeth and wear-resistant coulters, which inject the slurry in a single action. The Terraject 400 is suitable for tank trailers as well as self-propelled equipment. The Terraject Disc is a disc-based slurry injector and has 2 rows of serrated discs that cut free the sod or stubble, turn it over and inject the slurry in a single action. The Terraject Disc is suitable for trailer tanks and self-propelled equipment. Terraject 200 Terraject 400 Terraject Disc

7 ECO 1200 for feed hose systems The Eco 1200 is a lightweight slurry injector that is suitable for the Rotomax slurry reel and other feed hose systems, large tanks and self-propelled equipment. The slurry injector is fitted with 2 cutting spacers and a unique system of 60 distribution pipes through which the slurry flows to the distribution rubbers. These rubbers are suspended in tandem on ground-hugging elements. The slurry injector has a working breadth of 12 metres and is available with high carbon steel coulters or discs with a diameter of 250 mm. ECO 1200 EURO 1200 for feed hose systems The EURO 1200 is designed for applying slurry to grassland, tilled or untilled agricultural land. The discs are 300 mm in diameter and 24 mm thick, and are suspended at 200 mm intervals in a parallelogram construction on ground hugging elements. The uniquely shaped discharge rubbers maintain their upright position so that slurry can also be spread evenly and horizontally on uneven terrain. The EURO 1200 is fitted with a rail that guides the feed hose towing attachment along the side of the machine. This minimises the headland and prevents hose damage and above-ground slurry application. The EURO 1200 has a working breadth of 12 meters and is fitted with 2 cutting spacers. EURO Rotomax slurry reel The Rotomax feed hose system from Veenhuis is a reel wagon with a hose well over 700 metres for the supply slurry. During slurry spreading the hose can be unwound or rewound with the swivel arm attached to the reel and laid beside the machine. The hose lays still, thereby preventing soil smearing and damage to crops and soil. This makes the slurry reel also suitable for use in crop-row fields. Thanks to a minimum load on soil the Rotomax system can be deployed early in the season; also on less robust soils and wet conditions. The short start-up and clean-up time means that the Rotomax is also excellent for use on smaller parcels of land. Rotomax slurry reel Quanta pump unit The Quanta pump unit pumps slurry from the store and through the supply hose to the feed hose system slurry injector. The pump unit is equipped with a hydraulically-operated suction arm fitted with a turbo feed to supply the slurry pump. The suction arm can also be used to fill the water tank so that the hose and injector can be rinsed clean with water after use. The Quanta is operated with radiographic controls to enable slurry supply to be interrupted on the headland and to prevent pressure surges in the supply hose. Quanta pump unit

8 Tanks A secure investment In the area of tanks Veenhuis also has a very wide assortment, with a suitable machine for every situation and application. The tanks can be outfitted with different technical provisions.

9 9 Pumps In order to fill the tank, different pumping systems, such as a vacuum pump, positive displacement pump and centrifugal pump are possible. Veenhuis offer the selection of two vacuum pumps, B&P pump with synthetic blades and the Veenhuis V3 super pump with steel blades that is known for its high vacuum of 96%, low power requirements and long service life. The positive displacement or rotary lobe pump is almost always implemented with a cutting filter. The centrifugal or micro turbo pumps can be used in different ways. For example, they can be used as an auxiliary pump in the suction arm with a vacuum or positive displacement tank. The centrifugal pump can furthermore be used as automatic fillers as well whereby the centrifugal pump is brought into the slurry. Rotary lobe pump Micro turbo pump

10 Suction arms The tanks can be outfitted with two different suction arms: a short suction arm and a buckling swivelling arm. Both arms can optionally be outfitted with a centrifugal pump, a 10 suction hose, and aeration crane. The tanks can also be outfitted with a so called docking system. Hereby the docking arm is placed in a funnel at the well or silo, or in a funnel at the supply tank. Operation Short suction arm Buckling swivelling arm Automatic dosing Operation The basic operation of a EcoVac fertilization tank is hydraulic with a manifold block that can be expanded with a simple electronic drive. The Premium tank is fitted with the CAN-bus operating system, specially developed for Veenhuis. This is a very reliable and extremely user friendly control system, with a light and compact control cabinet to enter time and dosing adjustments. Dosing Adjusting the slurry provision can be achieved by using different dosing regulations. A manually operated valve with a pin hole adjustment with which the driving speed in combination with the delivery is regulated. On the other hand, it can be an automatic dosing regulation that measures the manure provision via a pass-through meter. Adjusting the delivery can be done using an electronically operated ball valve on the tank. The automatic dosage regulation is coupled to the Veenhuis CAN-bus system. 11 Lifting device The most frequently applied lifting device on tanks is the 4 points lifting device. There is a lighter implementation for a light tank such as the EcoFarm and a heavier implementation for the heavy tanks. But also other (3 points) lifting devices are applied to certain types of tanks. The depth regulation can be adjusted in different ways. The depth is adjusted standard using a pressure reducing valve. Optionally a proportional regulation with reversed coulter pressure can be delivered, which during operation can be regulated to be operated completely continuously from the cab. Top pressure cylinder Base In order to improve the driving comfort of the tank, the tanks can be outfitted with a hydraulic pole spring with top pressure cylinder. The pole spring cushions the shocks between tank and tractor, the top pressure cylinder transfers the weight to the front wheels so that a better grip to the field occurs and even less shocks on the road. The tandem tank is outfitted with blade or hydraulic springs and has move along or forced operation. The tridem and 4-axle tanks come standard with hydraulic springs, and are outfitted with forced operation. Optional on a large number of tanks are an axle lift and tyre pressure exchange system. 12 Nine different types of tanks Swivelling pole EcoFarm single-axle EcoFarm single-axle Veenhuis developed the EcoFarm single-axle tank especially for farmers. With contents of 8,000 up to 14,000 litres, this tank is an excellent alternative for newly used tanks due to standardisation, limited options, and an attractive price. EcoVac single-axle and tandem The EcoVac tanks can be delivered as single-axle and tandem, in a slurry injector and transport design. The single-axle tank, with contents of 8,000 up to 14,000 litres, has a maximum tyre diameter of 1,850 mm. The tandem tank without wheel cases has a maximum tyre diameter of 1,350 mm and tank contents of 9,000 up to 15,000 litres. The tank with wheel cases has a maximum tyre diameter of 1,850 mm and contents varying from 18,000 up to 20,000 litres. EcoVac single-axle EcoQuad The EcoQuad is a slurry tank available with a tank capacity of 11,000 or 14,000 litres. The basis of the EcoQuad is a single-axle tank with 4 instead of 2 wheels that are arranged beside each other. These wheels are hinge-suspended in pairs to ensure optimal soil adaptation. The EcoQuad has a maximum tyre height of 1,950 mm (for 650/65R42 tyres), which gives the tank high carrying capacity where rolling resistance is low. EcoVac tandem EcoQuad

13 Premium single-axle The single-axle tanks can be delivered as fertilization or transport tanks, with or without wheel cases. The tanks with wheel cases have contents of 9,800 up to 14,000 litres. The galvanized and lacquered tanks have an ample options package. The slurry injector tank is suitable for all types of slurry injectors. Premium tandem The tandem tank is specially designed for the professional agricultural contractor. An extremely complete tank with many options, available as a slurry injector or transporter with a capacity of up to 22,000 litres. The tanks are galvanized and lacquered and available with a capacity from 18,000 to 22,000 litres. The Premium tandem tanks have inset wheels and a tyre diameter of 1,850 mm, which makes them extremely suitable for applying slurry to agricultural land. Premium single-axle Premium tridem Deliverable as a transport tank with contents of up to 32,000 litres and as a fertilization tank with contents of up to 29,500 litres, the tridem tank is also very complete and can be delivered with many options. The maximum tyre diameter of this tank is 1850 mm. Premium tandem 13 Premium four-axles The four-axle tank is mainly sold as a transport tank but can also be delivered as a fertilization tank. The tank has a contents varying from 30,000 litres to 34,000 litres and has a maximum tyre diameter of 1350 mm. Premium tridem Premium four-axles

14 Premium swivelling pole single-axle and tandem The swivelling pole tank is a successful development of Veenhuis. Due to the application of the swivelling pole draw bar, the draw bar automatically swivels when the operation of the slurry injector is switched on. By swivelling the draw bar sideways, the tractor and fertilization tank each drives in its own track. Due to this, soil pressure and growth retardation are reduced to a minimum. During lifting the draw bar automatically swivels to the other side so that the tractor can steer more precisely. The whole combination thus gets a smaller turning circle with a head space of two working widths. The swivelling pole tank is suitable for all types of slurry injectors and can be delivered as a single-axle and tandem tank. Premium swivelling pole single-axle Premium self supporting tandem and tridem Especially for those countries where the work is done with large towing hose slurry injectors, Veenhuis developed the self supporting tandem and tridem tank. The tank has a self supporting tank construction with a low centre of gravity and very large and wide tyres. The tank is available as a vacuum, displacer or fully centrifugal model. Characteristic to the tank are the large capacity and high driving comfort. Due to the special construction this tank is very suitable for use in combination with a towing hose slurry injector.
