13 MARINE WINCH OPERATION GUIDE Keep your hands clear of the webbing or cable and its opening during operation and/or when spooling. Keep your clothing clear of the webbing or cable and its opening during operation and/or when spooling. Our winches are not intended to lift, lower or transfer people at any time. Alert all people in close proximity before use of the winch. Keep non-operating users away from the working area of the winch. Do not use any Marine Winches for lifting applications. Refer to the range of Brake Winches range. Never pull (vertically lift) more than the capacity stated on the winch. Ensure cables or webbing are secured correctly before use of the winch. Never apply a load on the winch with the cable or webbing in full extension. Ensure at least 3 full wraps of cable or webbing are on the drum at all times. Regularly examine all parts of the winch and do not use if damaged. Repair or replace any defective parts of the winch. Never disengage the clutch while the cable or webbing is under tension. Never engage the clutch while the drum is rotating. Never winch when there are less than 3 wraps of cable or webbing on the drum at all times. Winch out slowly and steadily. Be sure that the cable or webbing is winding evenly and tightly around the drum at all times. Never use a Marine Winch to tow another vehicle or used as a load securing device ie. (boat on a trailer). BRAKE WINCH OPERATION GUIDE Keep your hands clear of the cable, hook and its opening during operation and/or when spooling. Keep your clothing clear of the cable, hook and its opening during operation and/or when spooling. Tighten the brake winch handle adapter before use to ensure optimal braking ability. Do not lift people or lift a load over people. Alert all people in close proximity and keep non-operating users away from the working area before use of the brake winch. Never lift more than the capacity stated on the brake winch. Ensure cable is secured correctly before use of the brake winch. Never apply a load on the brake winch with the cable in full extension. Ensure at least 3 full wraps of cable are on the drum at all times. Regularly examine all parts of the brake winch and do not use if damaged. Repair or replace any defective parts of the brake winch. Never lubricate (grease) the braking mechanism of the brake winch. Never disengage the clutch while the cable is under tension. Never engage the clutch while the drum is rotating. Never winch when there are less than 3 wraps of cable on the drum at all times. Never wrap the cable around a load as this will damage the cable. Do not swing the load as this may cause damage. Never leave a suspended load unattended. It is the operators responsibility to determine the suitability of the equipment to its intended use.
