12 IMANTS SandCat Improves drainage and aeration on greens & fine turf The SandCat moves lightly over the turf, slitting the surface and introducing sand to improve drainage and enhance the properties of the rootzone. The compact size enables it to be used on compact tractors, being ideal for greens, tees and well-constructed sportsfields. Used empty, it has similar features to the Imants ShockWave and can therefore be used to aerate hard, compacted areas of fine turf. 13 IMANTS Penetrometer Hand operated professional compaction meter The Imants Penetrometer is a hand held, professional compaction meter to locate and monitor the compaction levels in the soil / rootzone. Understanding the degree of compaction enables the right procedures to be taken to eliminate excessive levels. Lack of air in compacted soil is a major problem, as the roots need access to oxygen to survive. As a rule of thumb, compaction greater than 20 bar pressure (285 psi) will cause problems and action should be taken to relieve the compaction in the rootzone. 13

14 The KORO Story - a brief history The brainchild of Ko Rodenberg, the KORO FIELDTOPMAKER came to market in 1997 as the key machine in a renovation programme designed to improve pitch quality and extend playing hours on natural turf soccer pitches. The acquisition of the manufacturing rights by Imants in 2009 and the finetuning of the Fraize mowing renovation practice, has lead to the design of a new range of rotors. Campey Turf Care Systems have been at the fore in developing the KORO BY IMANTS FIELDTOPMAKER into a system that can be used on a wide range of surfaces for a number of different renovation practices. Layering and compaction are eliminated, biological activity increased and existing fertilizers in the soil are better utilized. The Recycling Dresser reduces the amount of new top-dressing required, therefore saving labour and material costs and promoting sustainable maintenance. 3 different working widths are available in the new range. Marking material is transferred from the 30ltr hopper to the 10cm or 12cm wide marking wheel by a grooved rubber roller, giving even, accurate lines. 37 VREDO Compact Series The Vredo Compact Seeder series is an accurate and efficient range of disc seeders designed for overseeding golf greens & tees, sports pitches and other amenity grass.
