Features SAFETY FIRST! When working with a Super CS Base, never use the tires as a step. The wheels will turn easily if the base is raised up on the Jackscrews. When an Arm is attached to the Super CS Base, the Weight Bucket must be able to touch the ground. This is an important safety feature which must never be compromised. Warning! If the Auxiliary Weight Bucket is used, the Cable System is Mandatory. When the Weight Bucket is on the ground, there will still be clearance between the Arm and the Center Post as pictured. 3
Assembly PLACING THE SUPER CS BASE ON JACKSCREWS Position the Leveling Plate below the Jackscrew. The Leveling Plate must be on firm ground, capable of supporting the combined weight of the Super CS Base and any equipment attached. If the ground is not firm, they need to provide further support by adding plywood sheeting or other means. Remove the Kingpin Cap. Store the Kingpin Cap in the Tool Box. Insert the Jackscrew. 4
Assembly PLACING THE SUPER CS BASE ON JACKSCREWS Turn the Jackscrew by hand until it is seated in the Leveling Plate. Make the final adjustment to the Jackscrew with a wrench. The weight of the Super CS Base should be equally distributed between all four sets of Jackscrews and Wheels. When not in use, the Jackscrews and Plates are stored in the removable Tool Boxes on either side of the Super CS Base Chassis. 5
Features RAISING THE PNEUMATIC RISER The Pneumatic Riser is part of the Center Post on the Super CS Base. The Pneumatic Riser can be raised by attaching a rod to the actuator lever that is located under the tool box. If the Pneumatic Riser fails to rise to its full height (marked as Level 13), release the pressure completely, allowing the Pneumatic Riser to descend to its lowest height. Retighten the release valve and pump the actuator lever with FULL STROKES of the Handle until the desired height is reached. The Pneumatic Riser must be kept below Level 5 when using Manned Configurations The Pneumatic Riser may be raised to its full height of Level 13 when NOT using manned Configurations. The Pneumatic Riser can be lowered by turning the release valve counter clockwise. When the Pneumatic Riser has reached its lowest level, retighten the release valve by turning it clockwise until closed. Do not over tighten. 6
Features CHANGING THE WHEELS With the Super CS Base on Jackscrews (see pages 4 and 5), changing the Wheels begins with removing the Axle Pin. Then remove the Tires (Dual Pneumatics). Next, attach the Tire (Knobby Pneumatic Tire). Replace the Axle Pin. Warning! Do Not Mix Tire Types. 7
Features ATTACHING TRACKING WHEELS The Tracking Wheels are stored within the Chassis near the Center Post. Remove the Tracking Wheels from its compartment in the Super CS Base. Position the Tracking Wheels for installation. 8
Features ATTACHING TRACKING WHEELS The Tracking Wheels are secured to the Super CS Base through the Dove Tail system as pictured and secured by the Through Pin Center Hole. This is the correct orientation of the Tracking Wheels during installation. Position the Tracking Wheels for installation. Slide the dove-tailed mount laterally into place. 9
Features ATTACHING TRACKING WHEELS The Quick Release Pin is located on the inside of the Wheel for easy access. Inserting the Through Pin secures the Tracking Wheels. Make sure the pins are secured to the track wheel attachment. The Tracking Wheels are ready to be rolled onto the track ramp. Keeping the All Terrain Wheels on the Super CS Base adds another level of safety when using track. In tight shooting locations, the All Terrain Wheels may be removed from the Super CS Base. 10
Features THE TRACKING BAR The Push Bar is attached at either end of the Super CS Base Chassis. Extended Tracking Bars may be inserted into the Push Bar. The Extended Tracking Bar gives the Grip more control of movements. 11
no Features LEVELING THE SUPER CS BASE CENTER POST DO NOT attempt to Level or Adjust the Super CS Base Center Post by turning Adjacent Leveling Rods. Adjacent Leveling Rods are on different Axes. yes Begin by observing the Leveling Bubble Indicators on the Center Post. Leveling Rods that are opposite each other are on the same axis. They must be turned in unison. Each set of Leveling Rods has its own Leveling Bubble. Grab opposing Leveling Rods and loosen the right hand Leveling Rod. One Leveling Rod will be turning clockwise while the other will be turning counter clockwise. When the Leveling Bubble indicates that the Center Post is level on this axis, tighten the right hand Leveling Rod to lock the Leveling Rods in place. Complete the Leveling Process by adjusting the second set of opposing Leveling Rods in the same manner. The Super CS Base Center Post may be leveled with a Lenny Arm Center Post and Lenny Arm attached only when the Arm is first adjusted to a Balanced State. 12
Assembly REMOVING THE SUPER CS BASE CENTER POST Each Leveling Rod is attached to the Chassis with a Quick Release Pin. Remove the Quick Release Pin at four locations on the Chassis. Hold the column as you remove the last Quick Release Pin from the Leveling Rods. Tilt the column forward to access the main Quick Release Pin. 13
Assembly REMOVING THE SUPER CS BASE CENTER POST Remove the main Quick Release Pin from the bottom of the Center Post. The Center Post may now be removed from the Chassis. Lift the column straight up from the Chassis. The Tool Cases may be removed from the Chassis. 14 The Operator should be Qualified. For Assistance Please call our 24 hour Customer Service at or
Assembly MOUNTING THE LENNY ARM CENTER POST Lifting Bars enable positioning a Lenny Arm Center Post on top of a Super CS Base Center Post. The Bolts for attaching the Center Post Cable Brackets are also used for attaching the Lifting Bars. When placing a Lenny Arm Center Post on a Super CS Base Center Post, these bolts should be tightened with a wrench before any lifting is attempted. When the Bolts are loosened, the Lifting Bars may be attached or removed from the Lenny Arm Center Post. There is no need to completely remove the Bolts. The Operator should be Qualified. For Assistance Please call our 24 hour Customer Service at or
Assembly MOUNTING THE LENNY ARM CENTER POST The Lenny Arm Center Post is secured to the Super CS Base or Riser with the Castle Ring. Warning! The Riser is only used in Remote or Unmanned Configurations. It is not for use with Manned Configurations. Use a bar or wrench to tighten the Castle Ring. Castle Ring Safety Cap Bolt Warning! The Safety Cap must be used when attaching an Arm to the Super CS Base. The Safety Cap is placed over the Castle Ring and is secured with a 1" diameter by 1 1 /2" long Bolt. 16 The Operator should be Qualified. For Assistance Please call our 24 hour Customer Service at or
Assembly STEERING MODES A three pin system is used for selecting the desired steering mode at each end of the Chassis. When the three pins are in this orientation, the steering is Locked. When the three pins are in this orientation, the steering is in Conventional Mode. This is the normal steering choice. Usually the other end of the Chassis will be in Locked Steering Mode. When the three pins are in this orientation, the steering is in Crab Mode. This is the choice when Track is used. Both ends of the Chassis should be in Crab Mode when Track is used. Warning! This Nut must be kept tight to maintain the steering geometry. The linkage will have minimal play. Do not tighten the Main Bolt. This will avoid damage to the aluminum bracket. The Operator should be Qualified. For Assistance Please call our 24 hour Customer Service at or
Outriggers MOUNTING THE OUTRIGGERS The Outriggers can be easily transported using the Outrigger Carrier. Remove the Lower Pin from each Outrigger and lift out from the bottom. Attach a typical Outrigger with a Quick Release Pin at the Pivot Hole. The Pivot Hole is located at the end of the Outrigger. Lift the Outrigger and attach the second Quick Release Pin in the top hole. 18 The Operator should be Qualified. For Assistance Please call our 24 hour Customer Service at
Outriggers MOUNTING THE OUTRIGGERS The Raised Position of the Outriggers allows positioning the Super CS Base. Choose a location with level, firm terrain. When the Super CS Base is positioned in the desired location, remove the Lower Quick Release Pin and reinsert into the lowest hole. Lift the Outrigger Crank and turn the crank until the leg touches the ground. The Super CS Base can be raised completely off the ground with the Outriggers. However, the most stable configuration spreads the weight of the Super CS Base equally between the Outriggers and the Wheels. The Operator should be Qualified. For Assistance Please call our 24 hour Customer Service at

Warnings DO NOT exceed the total weight capacity of the Super CS Base. DO NOT use the tires on the Super CS Base as a step. The tires will turn easily if the base is raised up on the Jackscrews. DO NOT use the Riser in any Manned Configurations. The Riser is for Unmanned or Remote Configurations only. DO NOT mix tire types. All tires on the Super CS Base must be of the same type. DO place the Super CS Base on firm ground or provide further support by adding plywood sheeting or other means. DO keep any unused Weights in the Storage Areas of the Super CS Base. This adds to the balance and stability of the CS Base. DO wear gloves when handling Weights. DO use the Pneumatic Tires as a Safety Feature when the Super CS Base is used on track. DO insure the Weight Bucket is able to touch the ground when an Arm is attached to the Super CS Base. The Cable System MUST be used on any Arm attached to the Super CS Base if the Auxiliary Weight Bucket is used on the Arm. DO take a FULL STROKE of the Handle with each stroke when raising the Pneumatic Riser. Anything less than a Full Stroke of the Handle will allow air to enter the system. No damage is done to the system, but air in the system will prevent the Pneumatic Riser from reaching its full height. If this occurs, release the pressure in the system and insure that the column returns to its lowest position. Close the valve and pump the handle with complete full strokes to achieve and maintain the height that the cameraman desires. 22 WARNING It is NOT Permitted and is Unlawful to Operate This Equipment Within 10 Feet of High-Voltage Line of 50,000 Volts or Less.
