2 ACM Technologies Inc. Metals Eliminator System User Manual Thank you for your purchase of ACM Technologies Metals Eliminator System. This system was designed to take up minimal floor space, be user friendly and provide your company with a viable and economical treatment option for heavy metals and/or Cyanide removal from your rinse waters. Please be sure to read the manual carefully, as proper operation and flow of the system is vital for efficient operation. Note: For initial set-up of system, System Outlet Valve C, should only be about

3 Equipment Setup Connect plant process return line to the Inlet bulk head fitting on the back of the Transfer Tank. Connect water hose to City Water Make-Up fitting on the back of the Transfer Tank. Hook up System Outlet for return to plant process tanks. Note: For initial set-up of system, System Outlet Valve C, should only be about ¼ open to allow carbon and resin tanks to fill and prevent system pump from running dry. Once tanks are full, valve can be opened. Page 3 of 10

4 Cut wire tie and plug Resistivity Meter adapter into AC outlet. Plug in Pump Power Cord to AC outlet. Page 4 of 10

If resistivity light has changed to RED, please refer to the Replacement of Resin & Carbon Tanks section in this manual.

5 Operation Turn on city water feed to fill tank. Inlet Valve A and Tank Return Valve D should be fully open. Inlet Valve A Tank Return Valve D During normal operation, Resistivity Light should be GREEN. If resistivity light has changed to RED, please refer to the Replacement of Resin & Carbon Tanks section in this manual. (Note: Higher flow rates can decrease water quality and may cause Resistivity Light to change to RED. Flow rate should always be set to the slowest required. Flow rate is adjusted using by-pass valve B and outlet valve C.) Page 5 of 10

Slowly open, turning counterclockwise, pressure relief valve, until pressure in tank is 0.

8 Cleaning & Replacing Of Filter When the difference between the two pressure gauges is 20 psi or greater, filter should be cleaned or replaced. Pump switch should be switched to OFF, Inlet Valve A and Outlet Valve C should be closed. Slowly open, turning counterclockwise, pressure relief valve, until pressure in tank is 0. Remove the 4 brass wing nuts securing the top assembly of the filter tank, then remove the top assembly from the filter tank. Turning counter-clockwise, remove the white pvc retaining nut. Replace metal plate, white PVC retaining nut, replace top assembly with pressure gauge facing the front

9 Remove metal plate. Remove filter. Either rinse filter clean and reinsert, or install a new filter. New filters can be purchased from ACM Technologies, Inc. Replace metal plate, white PVC retaining nut, replace top assembly with pressure gauge facing the front of the system. Replace and tighten the 4 brass wing nuts. Make sure pressure relief valve is fully closed by turning valve clockwise till tight. Page 9 of 10

Replacement of Resin & Carbon Tanks Pump switch should be switched to OFF. Close Inlet Valve A and Outlet Valve C. Open Bypass Valve B. Drain Transfer Tank.

10 Replacement of Resin & Carbon Tanks Pump switch should be switched to OFF. Close Inlet Valve A and Outlet Valve C. Open Bypass Valve B. Drain Transfer Tank. Hook a compressed air line to blow down air fitting. Pressure should be about 10 to 15 psi. Open air valve, and leave open until water in tanks have been blown out. Air valve and Bypass Valve B should now be shut, and compressed air hose can be removed. Unhook hoses from resin and carbon tanks. Carefully remove tanks from system rack and replace with replacement tanks. Connect hose connected to the Inlet Valve A, to the Carbon tank in, from the Carbon tank out, connect hose to Cation tank in, from Cation tank Out, connect hose to the Anion tank In, and then from the Outlet hose, connect hose to the Anion tank out. Make sure fittings are tight to prevent leakage. Return to normal system operation. (Carbon Tank is Optional on some systems) Page 10 of 10
