Our innovations are directly relevant to the market, and continuous further development of our strandguide roller concept ensures optimum production reliability. After all, we not only know which technologies you require as plant operator, but which product qualities are required and expected from your customers. CSR The CSR (compact split roller) consists of two or more separate rollers with two roller bearings each. The two or more separate rollers are aligned in the lateral direction in the segment of the strand to form a single compact split roller. I-STAR The I-STAR (intermediately supported transaxle roller) consists of three or more roller bodies and four or more bearing blocks, which are based upon a pass-through axle. The advantage of this design is the small unsupported strand width which helps to reduce strand bulging. ECO-STAR The patented ECO-STAR roller is the newest development of Siemens VAI and integrates all of the experience and knowledge of the world s number one in slab casters. It consists of three or more roller barrels and four or more roller bearings which are mounted on four or more roller stumps. Its no-frills design makes manufacturing of the rollers rather quick and therefore significantly reduces delivery time. In combination with the Siemens VAI ECO-STAR maintenance concept, the Siemens VAI ECO-STAR strandguide roller is a forward-looking roller package. The peripherally cooled roller bodies of the Bend-STAR allow partial dry casting in the area of the slab corners in the bender segment (segment 0). The Bend-STAR is modularly designed according to the ECO-STAR principle. This helps to significantly reduce delivery time and maintenance costs. The ECO-DRI-STAR roller combines the proven advantages of the ECO-STAR roller with cooling by revolver bores, which are regularly spaced near the surface along the circumference. The ideal strand guiding roller is a champion in interaction with a secondary cooling or external machine cooling from the casting bow to the horizontal casting area. Soft reduction DRI-STAR roller with peripherally water cooled roller jackets. The DRI-STAR roller combines proven advantages of revolver rollers with the advantages of the I-STAR roller. The cooling water is guided through revolver bores which are regularly spaced near the surface along the circumference. This ensures improved heat dissipation from the surface of the roller. Soft reduction Dry casting Crack sensitive steel grades CSR (compact split roller) The compact split roller design is the standard solution for casters with a product mix of "non-critical" steel grades. The CSR concept is sufficient for casters with fewer unexpected loads (e.g. Tundish exchange) and low additional forces (e.g. soft reduction). Non critical steel prados PDR (peripherally drilled roller) PDR rollers are split rollers with a peripheral cooling system. Their mechanical properties are the same as the CSR roller. The PDR system is a solution for casters with few unexpected/additional loads with a problematic secondary cooling system (insufficient cooling water quality, clogged nozzles) Dry casting Wear optimized
