We highly recommend test fitting the axle before driving. 19 GSP XTV Axle Limited Warranty GSP North America Inc. Warranties its XTV products to be free from defects in material and workmanship for 1 year from date of purchase. CV boots and clamps are excluded from this warranty. GSP warranty does not apply to conditions resulting from accident, misuse, negligence, improper application, improper installation, alteration, and damage due to torn boots. Warranty is void if used for racing, commercial, government, or military use. GSP is not liable for any incidental or consequential damages resulting from the improper use of its axles. 20 Installation Guide and Tips 1. Before installing, inspect the overall axle. Thoroughly check the inner and outer CV boots and clamps for any damage that may have occurred during shipping or manufacturing. If any damaged found DO NOT INSTALL, contact the distributor/dealer as soon as possible. 2. Lift and support machine off of ground properly. Remove the wheel, brakes, and hub to gain access to old axle. Every manufacture is different the process of removal and installation can be different, refer to the repair manual for exact procedure and torque specs. 3. Upon removal of old CV axle. Apply small amount of light grease to the inner joint splines to help assist. Insert inner joint of CV stub into differential. While suspending the outer joint slide the inner joint forward to insert the inner stub fully. You will hear or feel the retaining clip snap into its groove on the ring gear. Do NOT hit any part of the CV axle with a hammer to install. Take care to align all properly so no damage is done to either of the CV boots or the oil seal on the differential. 4. Pull and push the axle lightly to ensure it is fully seated in the differential. 5. Apply light grease to outer joint spline. Align the outer CV joint to the splines on the knuckle/hub. 6. Tighten axle nut to proper torque specification, and install a cotter pin if applicable. 7. Reinstall remaining parts that were removed prior to CV axle. 8. Take a moment to fully inspect the work and rotate the wheel in both directions to ensure no binding occurs. Once machine is on the ground, bounce the suspension to make sure the suspension travels properly. If axle is binding repeat procedures to ensure axle and all other parts are installed correctly. NOTE: This job may require special tools to complete the process. You should always use the repair manual for your machine to make sure all process has been done correctly, and to specification.
