2 2017 MG CLASSIC CAMS Permit 217/1009/01 1. ADMINISTRATION 1.1 Nature of the Event The event shall be known as the 2017 MG Classic ( the Event ) and shall be a multi club untimed Touring Assembly conducted on public roads in the Hunter and upper Hunter areas. The event will be conducted over two days on Saturday the 9 th & Sunday 10 th of September The Event is open to members of the MG Car Club Ltd and members of all CAMS affiliated clubs. The Event will be a round of the Classic Rally Club 2017 series. The Event will be conducted in three classifications, Masters, Apprentices and Tour including Social Tour. The Masters section will be for experienced crews. The Apprentices section will cater for less experienced crews or those who wish to take advantage of easier route instructions. The Tour will be predominately route charted but may include some simple map reading and other instructions. The Social Tour will be fully route charted for those crews who just want a drive as an observation run. This event will be conducted under and in accordance with CAMS OH&S and risk management policies, which can be found on the CAMS website Different instructions will be used for each category. The routes may also differ for each category. 1.2 Authority and Permit The Event will be held under the C.A.M.SL.N.S.W. Touring Code (Provisional) incl. Appendices A and B, these Supplementary Regulations and any Further Regulations issued. The C.A.M.S.N.S.W. Touring Code (Provisional) incl. Appendices A, B is available for download on the C.R.C. website at The Touring Assembly will be held under CAMS Permit Number 217/1009/ Promoter The Event will be organised and promoted by the MG Car Club Limited (NSW). 1.4 Organisers & Officials The following personnel shall comprise the organising team: Clerk of Course: Jim Richardson Lic Bronze Assistant Clerk of Course Doug Barbour Lic Event Secretary: Steve Perry Lic Bronze Assistant Event Secretary: Xanthea Boardman Lic Event Co-ordinator: Bev Richardson Lic Compliance Checker Robert Smith All correspondence to the Assistant Event Secretary 1.5 Protests Any query that cannot be resolved by negotiation with the organising Committee will be dealt with in accordance with CAMS Manual of Motor Sport. Any such Protest must be lodged in accordance with Part XII of the National Competition Rules of the CAMS.within one half hour of the crew booking in at the end of the day. 1.6 Alteration, Abandonment or Termination of the Event

3 The organisers reserve the right to abandon, alter or terminate the Event at any point in accordance with clause 7.7 of the CAMS N.S.W. Touring Code (Provisional). 1.7 Judges of Fact The organising committee and all other event officials shall be Judges of Fact relative to: a) All activities and observations at controls b) Efficiency of exhaust systems c) Observation of quiet zone procedures d) Deviation from route including direction of travel e) Conduct of crews 1.8 Odometer check The survey car measured 5.01km over a standard RMS odometer calibration check. 1.9 Event Format The Event will be conducted over 2 days in 3 divisions. The total length of the event is approximately 700kms, with some good unsealed roads. Fuel will NOT be available at the lunch stop on Saturday. Locations along the route where fuel and comfort stops are available will be detailed in the extra Supplementary Regulations and Fuel Management Advice. We recommend you start the Event with a full tank. Fuel available opposite Start location. 2. Competitors & Entries 2.1 Crew Members Crews will consist of a minimum of two people and a maximum not more than the legal seating capacity of the vehicle. Non-participant passengers who are not included on the official Entry Form may travel in the entered vehicle without the need to hold a CAMS Competition Licence. Note that such passengers are not covered by the CAMS personal insurance policy. Social Tour participants who do not hold a CAMS competition licence are also not covered by the CAMS personal accident insurance policy. 2.2 Licences It is the Competitor s (Car Owner s) responsibility to ensure that any crew member who drives the entered vehicle during the Event has a current valid Driving Licence that permits driviing the type of vehicle on public roads. The Driver and Navigator, as nominated on the Entry Form, must hold a current minimum level CAMS 2NS or 2NSJ Competition Licence. For the Social Tour no CAMS licence is required, however, all entrants need to be a member of a CAMS affiliated club. Any crew member or passenger who is not a member of a CAMS affiliated club will receive honorary membership of MG Car Club to cover the period of the Event. 2.3 Entries Entries must be made on the official entry form, completed in all details and forwarded with full payment to; Assistant Event Secretary PO Box 1566 ROZELLE Entries open on the 14 th June and close on Monday 28 August 2017

4 The Entry Fee for a crew of two persons is $ charged $ each. Additional crew members will be The entry fee includes: All official maps and instructions Car numbers Accommodation Saturday night (twin share). Motel rooms allocated in order of entry receipt Breakfast Saturday at start and Sunday at start motel. Lunch Saturday & Sunday Dinner Saturday night at RSL Club Cheques should be made payable to MG Car Club Ltd and included with a completed entry form. Entry form will also include instructions for direct debit payment. Competitors are reminded of the penalties under the NCR s for false statements. The field is limited to fifty (50) cars with five (5) reserves, accepted in order of receipt. Any entry not accepted by the Organisers will have the entry fee refunded in full. Entries withdrawn prior to 5 th August will have the entry fee refunded in full. Refunds for entries withdrawn after 28 th August will be at the Organisers discretion. Changes in the crew and/or vehicle will be permitted prior to the start of the event with no penalty. Any changes after the start will be at the discretion of the Directors or Director s Nominee. The organiser reserves the right to refuse entry in accordance with NCR Start Location and Starting Order The Event will start at the Corrugated Café, 780 Peats Ridge Road, Peats Ridge where breakfast will be supplied and fuel available. Instructions available Masters 8.45am, Apprentices 8.50am, Tour 9.00am with first car away at 9.00am. Masters and Apprentices have priority at start. Cars will start at approx. 30sec. intervals in any order within their classification to provide separation of vehicles. Start control will close at 9.30am. 2.5 Crew Registration and Briefing Registration and scrutineering will be held Saturday, 2 nd September between 9.30am and noon at: MG Centre of Sydney Unit 26, 20 Tucks Road, SEVEN HILLS For out of town entrants Friday night, 8 th September, crew registration and scrutineering will be available at The Galaxy Motel, 26 Central Coast Highway, West Gosford from 5.30pm to 7.00pm. There will be a limited registration (no scrutineering) at the start venue from 7.30am to 8.00am. The following current original documents must be presented at that time Civil driving licence for all drivers and CAMs licence for all drivers (if required) Proof of registration and all current paperwork for historic conditional registration Please check the currency of your documents several weeks prior to the Event. A CREW BRIEFING WILL BE HELD AT THE START VENUE ON SAT, 9 TH SEPT AT 8.30AM. A member of each crew is required to attend the briefing, which could include advice regarding any route changes, road condition issues etc. that may affect the running of the Event. 3. Vehicles 3.1 Eligibility of Vehicles The event fosters the use of classic vehicles first manufactured prior to 31 December 1985 but other vehicles are welcome at the discretion of the Event organisers. Any road registered vehicle, having a minimum seating of two, meeting the Road Traffic authority requirements of the State in which the vehicle is registered, is eligible.

5 Historical Conditional registration is acceptable as long as the Event is listed in your club s authorised calendar or you may have your car on log book. 3.2 Recommended Equipment Although not compulsory, it is strongly recommended that fire extinguishers and a first aid kit be fitted to all vehicles. Warning triangles should also be carried in the vehicle. 3.3 Banned Equipment In accordance with clause of the C.A.M.S.N.S.W. Touring Code (Provisional). Note the following addition to this clause: G.P.S. technology used solely to operate an odometer is permitted. 4. Schedule The Event will start at the CORRUGATED CAFÉ, 780 PEATS RIDGE ROAD, PEATS RIDGE Vehicles can start in any order within their classification with Masters then Apprentices and the Tour last. Subsequent starting order will be advised. All car numbers will be issued by the Clerk of the Course or his Nominee. Dinner am 8.30am 9.00am 12.00pm 4.00pm CENTABROOK MOTOR INN 6.30 for 7.00pm at Muswellbrook RSL DAY 2 SUNDAY, 10 TH SEPTEMBER 2017 Breakfast First car starts Lunch (approx.) 6.30am at Noahs Mid City Motel 8.00am at Noahs Mid City Motel 12.15pm 5.0 Scoring Route cards will be collected at the end control of each section for scoring purposes. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure the route card is completed to the best of their ability as the route card will be the basis on which the entrant s result is calculated. Route cards will also be cross referenced against the control officials running sheets. Scoring will be completed after each section and progressive scores will be available on Saturday night. Provisional. Scores will be calculated after the final car completing the Event. 5.1 Speeding observed by rally officials or police will incur a penalty of 1 point per kilometre over prescribed limit.

6 5.2 Breach of Rules The following breaches of the Rules may result in the penalty of exclusion: Irregularity of Crew or vehicle ID Road Card alteration Intrusion of a Safety Zone Unsportsmanlike contact Failure to visit the Start Control 5.3 Breach of Rally Schedule Non compliance with clause National touring code Using any banned equipment Missing or failing to report to a major control Wrong direction (W.D.) into a major control Proceeding through an out of bounds location Observed on wrong route Failure to hand in unopened additional information envelope Missing or failure to report to a manned passage control Wrong direction (W.D.) into a passage control Missing unmanned passage control Manned or Unmanned passage control out of sequence Missing or incorrect answers to observation questions Tour only- Misspelt answer or answer written in incorrect box Loss of or failure to hand in Road Card Late at Division Start Exclusion 100 points 60 points 35 points 30 points 25 points 70 points 30 points 25 points 20 points 15 points 20 points 11 points 500 points + maximum points for the day 1 point per minute to a max of 30 points A competitor who is more than 30 minutes late at a division start, will be deemed to have missed the start. PRESENTATIONS: TUESDAY, 10 TH OCTOBER 2017 Awards will be awarded as follows: Masters Class 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd outright for driver and navigator Apprentice Class 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd outright for driver and navigator Tour 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd outright for driver and navigator Social Tour for outstanding performance in the spirit of the Event Awards will be presented at the MG Car Club meeting, 8.00pm at the Denistone Sports Club, 59 Chatham Rd, West Ryde. Dinner is available from 6.30pm. 6.0 Controls and Observers 6.1 Controls Refer to Chapter TC5 of the C.A.M.S.N.S.W. Touring Code (Provisional). Observations in the form of questions at specific distances or unmanned passage controls during the event will be required to be written on the competitors road card in the correct place to verify compliance with the correct route. Examples of control boards will be displayed at the Competitors briefing. Note that all control boards will be located on the left hand side of the road. A VCR board will be found in the first kilometre (o.621mls) of any section of unsealed road that forms part of the correct route.

7 Major controls will be opened at specified times as published. As this is an untimed Event all controls will be closed by the sweep car or should the sweep car be delayed due to unforeseen circumstances at the time he would be expected to arrive. There is no penalty for late arrival at any control other than a division start while the control remains open. 6.2 Observers At certain points around the course there may be observers checking compliance with the instructions. Any crews detected on the wrong route will be given a penalty as listed in clause 5.3. All control officials are deemed to be observers and judges of fact. 7.0 Route Instructions 7.1 Different instructions will be provided for each class. Apprentice entrants will receive similar instructions to the Masters with additional helpful instructions. Tour instructions will be predominately route charted but some simple map reading and other instructions may also be used however a full route chart will be available in a sealed envelope if required. Instructions may be given in a number of ways and may include grid references for 1:250,000 scale survey maps, tulips, map traces, compass bearings, herringbones, route chart, cross references plus others at the discretion of the Director. All cross references will be defined precisely e.g. Parramatta Post Office, Hornsby Railway Station, will be the precise points for the beginning of the line to be drawn. In the event of no precise point being given, the point will be defined as the centre of the letter of the location underlined e.g. Canberra, where the letter b is underlined. This will be the precise point for the beginning of the line to be drawn. The route is given and is to be followed along the shortest mapped route (unless stated otherwise), point to point through all given points as per the official maps. You may only use roads that are shown on the official maps unless specifically instructed otherwise. A named point may be visited again without being specified in the instructions provided that it has first been entered as specified in the instructions. Please note that roads cannot be used in both directions on the same division unless specifically instructed to do so. Official maps will be provided to competitors with instructions. Additional maps may be issued with route instructions at various points. Large-scale maps take precedence over small-scale maps unless specifically stated in the instructions to use a particular map. (The smaller the second number of the scale, the larger the scale). When instructed to use an unmapped road, crews are to rejoin the mapped road as soon as possible as per the instructions. All competitors are required to obey all road rules all the time. No service crews or vehicles are permitted. Competitors are reminded that their comprehensive insurance may not be applicable to any or all parts of the Event and should check with their insurers if in doubt. No radio transmitters, or GPS devices (unless used for distance recording only) are permitted in the passenger compartment of any competing cars. Mobile telephones (for emergency use only) may be carried but must not be used unless in an emergency. Spot checks may be done during the Event A competitor who retires from the Event must immediately notify the Organisers of their withdrawal. A mobile phone number will be provided by the Organisers.

Items of equipment that may be required by navigators include ruler, pencils, erasers, paper, pens, highlighters, protractors, pencil sharpener, magnifying glass, map board, travel sickness pills, Post- It notes, and any other navigational aids you may find helpful, plus a sense of humour. Distances will be gives to two decimal places, e.g., 5.20 kms or 6.37 miles so an accurate speedometer or an additional measuring device such as a Halda, Terratrip, Mini-Cockpit etc. may be useful as the Event includes Route Charts. The survey vehicle recorded a distance of 5.01kms at the Distance Check Points over the measured 5km on the M4 near Wallgrove Road, Eastern Creek, heading West. For the purposes of this Event, all place names, intersections, roads and other features named or described in the Route Instructions will be deemed to exist as shown on the official maps regardless of their existence or otherwise in fact. Entry to controls or via points will be along mapped roads unless otherwise specified in the Route Instructions.. Any unsealed roads used during the event will have either an Unmanned Passage Control Board or a question within the first 1 km of the unsealed road. Points or areas specified as out of bounds may not be entered, crossed, or traversed unless the Route Instructions specifically allow otherwise. 9.0 Alcohol, Drugs and other Substances Any holder of a CAMS Competition or Officials licence (or equivalent licence issued by another ASN) may be tested for the presence of drugs (or other banned substances) and subject to a penalty(ies) for a breach in accordance with the CAMS Anti-Doping Policy and/or the CAMS Illicit Drugs in Sport (Safety Testing) Policy as published on the CAMS website. Consumption of alcohol in the paddock, pits or any section of the competition venue/course under the control of the Officials is forbidden until all competition is concluded each day. Accordingly, any holder of a CAMS Competition or Officials licence (or equivalent licence issued by another ASN) may also be tested for the presence of alcohol by a CAMS Accredited Testing Official (CATO) in accordance with the CAMS Standard Operating Procedure for Breath Alcohol Testing9+
