Function and Description The DA-SB in-line detonation fl ame arresters are the newest generation of fl ame arresters. On the basis of fluid dynamic, explosion dynamics calculation and decades of experience from fi eld tests, a product line was developed that offers minimum pressure loss and maximum safety. The fl ame arrester uses the shock wave guide tube effect to optimally decouple the fl ame front and shock wave. The result is a detonation arrester without a classic shock absorber; in addition the use of fl amefi lter elements is minimized. The devices are symmetrical and offer bidirectional fl ame suppression. The arrester essentially consists of two housing halves with an integrated shock tube (1) and the ROTEGO fl ame arrester (2) in the center. The fl ame arrester is modular and consists of several flamefi lter discs (3) fi rmly held in a fi lter cage. The number of fl amefi lters and their gap size depends on the arrester s conditions of use. By indicating the operating parameters such as the temperature, pressure and explosion group, and the composition of the fl uid, the optimum detonation arrester can be selected from a series of approved devices. DA-SB fl ame arresters are available for all explosion groups. The standard design is approved for an operating temperature up to + 60 C / 140 F and an absolute operating pressure up to 1.1 bar / psi. In-line detonation fl ame arrester with two integrated temperature sensors* for additional protection against short time burning from both sides In-line detonation fl ame arrester with heating jacket Additional special fl ame arresters upon request *Resistance thermometer for device group II, category (1) 2 (GII cat.
